Just been reading about everyone getting things they didn't ask for and some people who didnt get things that they DID ask for.
Having waited almost two and a half months already, for my elusive white M1330... with appalling service and delays aplenty.... I swear that if it does not arrive exactly to my specification I will go psycho at Dell!!!
-
im still pissed that mine's been no more than half an hour from me for 2 days and not a single delivery has been attempted.
-
OK a bit of help would be appreciated.
When I purchased my laptop I'm 99% sure I remember entering my debit card details in - however no payment has been taken and my laptop is on its way to me. I've recently received an email with an invoice - and see I have the laptop listed under "My financials" in my Dell account as if the money is still due.
Checking my bank account I see payment has not been taken - does this mean Dell are still going to take it? Or do I need to pay again?!? :confuzzled: -
Collected mine today from a business post depot. Checked for the wobble and thankfully its fine, only negative is the keyboard. It rises in the middle, reminds me of one of those Microsoft ergonomic keyboards which never quite took off. Not as bad as that granted but does look funny from certain angles. Plus, even without the rising keyboard I'd say it was a pretty poor keyboard compared with other manufacturers.
Even funnier, the underside bows out slightly as well, but not enough to stop the rubber feet from keeping it level.
Despite the keyboard I think its a keeper, the screen looks amazing, performance rise the 7300 with 2GB seems ample and overall it looks great.
Hope everyone else gets their 1330s soon. -
WHAT THE F**K they told me I couldn't collect from business post.. how the hell .. awww dell's on my s**t list again lol

hahah, i have mine mike and I ordered exactly a month ago!
And the one i ordered off ebay 2 days ago is coming tomorrow! -
lol i just can't explain with words how much i f**king hate you all
-
Hi, I have been watching this forum for a few months now.
I received my m1330 this morning (ordered 01 July) which i type this post on!!
The only problem i have is: My laptop came with Windows Vista basic installed!!
I ordered it with Vista Business!
A couple of questions as i am now paranoid:
How do i tell if my screen is LED? system does not tell me much.
The Led screen had the lower spec camera, how do i find out the spec of the camera?
Cheers. Star -
Surely there is the case in this that if Dell fail to provide exactly what is agreed upon in the contract, that these issues (exacerbated further by appalling service) could then be investigated to a fuller degree by regulatory bodies? -
Well I've just noticed one fairly major flaw on mine, the lack of a fingureprint reader - clearly one of you guys got it
.
Also, my mic has what seems to be a near universal problem, which is that it's extremely quiet on things like skype. I'm fairly sure it's a driver issue, but nothing I've done yet seems to work. -
Wrong thread. Apologies.
-
Well, talked to customer care and Christ! they are slippery fellows. They claim that the reason I didn't get the fingureprint reader is that they are having problems with it and are soon discontinueing it - which I find very unlikely given the figureprint reader was on my packing slip.
I pointed out that this implies that they knew in advance that I wasn't going to get it but didn't bother to tell me and he claimed they tried to send out some sort of email - how one tries to send an email and fails is a little unclear to me.
Clearly the Limerick base simply mixed up the with and without fingureprint reader orders and someone along the line is trying to cover this up. -
DS,
I haven't been able to get hold of my account manager, but a girl in Customer Service told me similar. She said it wasn't on my laptop because that finger print scanner is end of life, but she did say something about arranging to get one. I need to discuss it with my account manager to see what they'll do. -
I think I just witnessed my order being lost/delayed in front of my own eyes.
A UKMail van (which I see are the vans used by Business Post) just pulled up outside... raising my excitement levels before the driver spent about two minutes looking around for the box, then obviously decided it was just all too much for him and drove off, delivering nothing to anybody.

hahah, i have had 2 perfect condition M1330's delivered.
-
ooooo that is harsh.. I've just got mine
Only problem so far is the slightly rattley wifi catch and i do seem to have the bulge in the keyboard.
Now i'm using it..i actually prefer the SZ style clatterbox keys but i'm sure i'll get used to it. -
The order has gone from "Awaiting delivery" on the Business Post tracker to "Passive Transaction Status" - does that roughly translate to sitting in the van and won't be delivered until Monday at the earliest because the driver is too lazy to look for said package?
-
And I see on Western Walsh
07/09/07 09:46 BPO ADDRESS QUERY.
Hmm. Surely not an address query as the driver in question parked outside my house!? Looks like I'm going to have to go bananas on the phone come 12... -
Thats unbelievable mate.. Call them and DEMAND the delivery take place this afternoon
-
I gave Walsh Western a call and explained the situation... Business Post then rang up and said there was some kind of system failure meaning a few orders were not placed on the van this morning (as I suspected, the driver couldn't find the box).
Apparently it will be delivered this afternoon. It would appear "Address not found" was listed as the issue imho because that then isn't Business Post's responsibility.
Still, fingers crossed, it is all sorted out and to be fair to them they were very polite and quick on the phones. -
Still no laptop. Have I been fed yet another lie from the delivery people? Does anyone know the latest these guys deliver?
-
So try calling the local depot and ask whether it was back at base, I gave them my postcode and name and they tracked the parcel down and had it waiting for me. -
Just tried ringing the local Business Post depot but it rang for ages and no-one picked up
-
Phoned Western Walsh.
Apparently if it doesn't come tonight it will come tomorrow morning by 10.30am... why am I starting to think I'm being lied to again... having been assured it would be with me this afternoon as soon as physically possible I can only presume that they have sent a poor delivery man to crawl on hands and knees from their depot given my distance from it and the time taken so far... -
useless aren't they..city link would be better once it's in the UK

my 2 cents:
had 3 delivered this week, 2 seperate orders, both arrived earlier than expected (first 1 week, and second 3 weeks)
first impressions, quite impressed, no obivious problems, wireless button is a little loose though!
all three quite high spec, features are good, build quality good (would have like metallic keyboard buttons though, got a feeling feeling theyll wear quite quickly), performance good (no proper testing as of yet)
just trying out integrating one into an sbs 2003 network at the moment and its going without a hitch so far (touch wood!)
final thoughts, appears to be a good buy so far, performance, features, build quality all good, and for under £900 (excl vat), even better -
been trying out some games on mine..GRAW 2 is an no no..at least with the the dell driver lol

Hello all, new member here.
I Ordered my M1330 on the 30th Aug with and EDD of 16th Oct. It was shipped on the 6th Sept and is scheduled for delivery on the 10th Sept!
Hopefully this is a sign that Dell are finally getting their act together as it has taken my order just 7 days to go from order processing to shipped, or maybe I just got lucky with their random selection process!
Hope everyone gets their order soon.
This is my order:
Tuxedo Black|White-LED|T7300|2GB RAM|8400M|160GB (5400RPM)|Wireless-N|Bluetooth|9 Cell|Biometric FR|Vista Home Premium| -
Very lucky indeed. well done though

Well i am still firmly stuck in preproduction after one of my probably 100th promise from Dell this time i was told that my laptop would ship in 3-4 days time on the 6th of September. It is not quite reached the 4th day yet but i just don't hold up much hope for my notebook shipping in that time frame.
If there is a white lid fiasco it is Dell's problem. The buck does fall and rest with them. They should concentrate to get these out as they know the people who ordered them have been waiting a long time. Some people are approaching 2 and a half months wait time.
They keep on saying to me that they are doing all that they can for me to get my notebook out but then i see people getting their own in one or two weeks with the same specs and it makes me question if they are actually doing much of anything at all.
I would like to see at least some of the white XPS starting to be shipped that people are waiting upon here.
I would be interested also to know who Dell can be reported to who is there regulatory body in the UK does anybody know? -
I don't think there's much you can do to be honest..if they have taken the money they maybe get them to put it back in your account but thats it.
The dates they suggest are only estimates and in no way a contract so you just have to be patient or buy an SZ6 when they arrive which I would have done if they released them before I got my dell. -
Me too, or maybe gone with the rizeon S37S... it's white too and cheaper but still looks very good!
Anyway, I haven't been o here since my notebook ACTALLY, FINALLY came on 5th September. No build quality problems as in the US, but there is a negligible wobble on both the base of the laptop and the wireless button. But as I said, they're negligible!
Good luck to all those still waiting. -
My wifi button catch is a little loose butnot too bad and have a slight bulge in the keyboard
-
I placed my order last Tuesday and my order status has just changed to production as of today...Does an order move from pre-production to production when they have all the required parts for the order in stock? Or does this status update basically mean nothing?
EDIT: Just checked the status again and its now saying my order is in the "delivery preparation" stage. Less than 5 days after ordering... -
You'll love it! So far three of my friends have ordered one after seeing mine -
Wow that's cool. I didn't expect it to be ready that quickly. It's already at the "delivery preparation" stage... I'm a happy camper.
EDIT: The status now says dispatched with Interlink Courier!I'm delighted. I expected to get this laptop sometime before christmas! Haha
-
How long does the production stage last? Mine moved into production today.
What about delivery prep? Does that last long?
Sorry for the bunch of questions. -
It took only a couple of hours in delivery prep. -
Omfg Production
-
matt5cott congrats to you it seems that you have been through quite a bit of stress to get this laptop. I hope that you like it when it arrives.
Me i am still waiting and still in preproduction. I give up lol. I think that mine could possibly be pretty well close to the delayed estimated shipping date. I will be getting compensation though when mine does actually ship. -
My m1330 arrived today (ordered 24 Aug, arrived 10 Sept, UK).
Just Luv it. No serious problems so far. Gaps are not serious, both 9 & 6 cell batteries are firm, pixels OK, no wine, sits flat on table. Very slight hump in keyboard if you look very closely, its not a problem. Wifi buttons are a fraction wobbly. Very pleased right now but sorry for those still waiting.
How'd you get those finger marks off the black lid ? Wash it ?

OMG OMG OMG
I Went from Pre-Production to Delivery Prep Overnight!
Matt5cott, Rachuk, check your order status!!!
Come on the White Lids!!! -
Sems that mine also went from preproduction to delivered prep. I am also one with white color, and led. Ordered on 9july. Lets hope now is the time.
-
Checked this morning and mines in delivery prep also
Looks like the time has FINALLY come! -
Nice to know that UK orders seem to be getting in order now and that the general build quality seems better (or perhap we're not as critical) as our US counterparts. I've found that a damp cloth will get rid of the fingermarks on the black lid though I'm thinking of getting a laptop skin (suede) to solve that problem and get rid of the Dell logo - atm I've covered it with one of those apple stickers you get with ipods...
Off topic - does anyone know when/if Dell will release wusb modules, need one to offset the 2 USB disadvantage...
