Well received mine yesterday as scheduled and its very good!

There are no build issues that people have been finding. The laptop does not wobble at all and no sign of any bump in the keyboard. Seems like most of these problems have finally been sorted.
Performance wise it is great, not had time to test games on it but doing day to day stuff on it is fine.

They rang me to arrange delivery too, last week. They asked me if Tuesday AM would be convenient.

What they didn't ask me was whether it would be convenient to tell me it's coming Tuesday AM, and then not bring it ;)

Just recieved notification that my "WHITE" M1330 will be deliverded on Thursday 13th September.

They must have had that delivery of white screens.

If i get it on Thursday i would have waited around 70 days for this laptop.

    It better be worth it!

Well, they promised delivery on Tuesday morning. And sure enough, they delivered it at 10:30..... PM. No, I don't get it either.

But aaaaah, all is forgiven. What can I say - she's a stunner! No build flaws whatsoever :D

No still nothing for me i am still in preproduction. White lid guys/girls it is good that you are all getting your notebooks as it has been a real long time coming. :)
I am tired of emailing Dell and hearing this that and the other which does not come good for me. This will be my first and last time of ever using Dell.

Anyway i have been told that they are expecting this part that they are waiting on for me in  on the 18th of September [HX105 Description : ASSY,PLMRST,MAG, W/FPRDR,M1330
9/18] so i guess i will have to see how it goes. Just by looking at that part it looks like it maybe a fingerprint reader in there i don't know it looks a bit different to the other part that i posted last week.
I know that they have the parts in i ordered the 2.2 processor, white lid, modem, LED, fingerprint reader, now it seems like to me that everybody here has ordered or got one of these parts recently so i know that they were in stock.
Still though i am not to sure how Dell builds things in regards to having shipments of lid colour, chasis as opposed to building from up on plant?

Part of my mind justs tell me to cancel now and get a MacBook Pro again or wait to December to buy again as i had a few dissapointments with Dell i am starting to think if this was meant to be lol. As i said before i really regret not getting the Asus in America in July that i turned down for the Dell. It is hard to cancel as well when they keep on giving you dates of when things will be in and you are near that date. Also i know of the rarity of this laptop and i did get it for a good price. That is another thing that kinds of keeps me hanging on.

Yikes Rach, can't believe that you still have to wait, I thought that now they have the lids back in that everyone would be sorted, I do NOT have the fingerprint reader and only a 1.8ghz CPU mind.

Should be getting it tomorrow, but this remains to be seen...

Will be 72 days if it comes tomorrow

Mine has been stuck in "Delivery Preperation" for about 4 days now, i am hoping they havent lost it or something.

    Is this normal?

Also on Walsh Western are the customer and order numbers the same as on dell as i wanted to give that a try to see if there is any luck.

Well mine was marked as dispatched 12/09/07 yesterday, with no tracking information, surprise surprise its now changed to dispatched 13/09/07 with no tracking information.

Despite my dell rep and Walsh Western themselves already scheduling for Thursday AM delivery, what a funking sham this company is.

    edit-> arrived at 11.10am.

It was the Black with the 1.5 processor, fingerprint reader, bluetooth, 1 GB ram and 160 GB hd.

It was shipped according to dell cs but my online status hasnt been updated, yet it also has a service tag so it does exist.

    Hi everyone,

I got my M1330 but its got the CPU whine and its very noticeable! I had engineer out today and he said there is nothing he can really do and there is quite a few people having this problem  .

I asked for a full refund which they gave and have made an order for the same laptop with a T7300 and an LED screen hopefully it won’t have the whine!! The good news is it seems delivery times are getting much shorter  I have an estimated ship date of 09/10/07 which is not too bad.

Lets see what happens with my new one  !

I just checked my status and i have gone into PRODUCTION.....i feel a bit giddy.
I hope that this is real.
Friday is my 69th day of waiting so far.
It seems like i maybe one of the last if not the last early UK order to go out.
I hope that this is it.

Got it then, has a tiny bit of CPU whine, not swapping it for fear of an inferior replacement! Screen is superb, no dead/lit pixels, keyboard may have a TINY bump or I may just have read about it and be imagining things.

    Chucked some pix up here,

    http://www.chasethedevil.co.uk/coppermatt/thumbnails.php?album=lastup

Takes you to the latest stuff I have uploaded, will probably get round to taking some on a proper digicam and not my n73.

Rach, good news on yours finally being built :)

My order has been dispacthed. It has been a long time coming but I am just glad for now.
I am trying to sort out my compensation now.
I don't think that they do Saturday deliveries so hopefully it should be with me by Monday or Tuesday.
I get my notebook just as the Sony SZ6 is released in the UK and rumours are going around about an updated MB.

The wait time leads have also gone in the UK now from six weeks to three weeks.

    edited to add:
I have been booked into receive my notebook on the 18th which is next Tuesday.

    Are you pleased with it?
Mig Hunter are you also pleased with it?

Also, i think that pretty soon that we maybe seeing some adjustments with the processor speeds on the Dell website. Intel has now released a 2Ghz cache with a 2mb cache.
Also the price of the T7500 and the T7700 has dropped and Dell are now using the T7700 processor in Australia.
I won't mind though if Dell does this and introduces the 2.4 processor as i am happy with what i got.

Yeah i'm very happy with it overall..the bulge in the keyboard isn't too bad and i dont notice it much now and other than that it's perfect.

It does get quite warm but only as much as is suggested in the reviews..stuck it on my antec notebook cooler and it always nice and cold now which is good.

I was always going for the T7500 as it felt like a nice balance of bang for buck so the T7700 doesn't bother me.

Had my M1330 for under a week and looks like I might have to order a replacement. There is a terrible loud whine when the laptop is turned off and is charging (when the charge level has reached 80% and over). It only happens when the laptop is off and not when its turned on.

Its a shame because everything else is fine.

My notebook arrived today build wise i cannot see any problems with it. My notebook is not wobbly it rests down perfectly on my desk as it should be. This notebook is a stunner i think that i like it in terms of looks better than my MBP that i owned.
The screen is really nice i don't know how i am going to this keep it so clean though i will have to buy something for it. I am a bit scared that i am do any damage to it as it so delicate.

The wait times were horrendous but i think that i am glad that i did not cancel i couldn't do that again though i don't think.

One thing though the paint job is not as good as it could be as I have two small scracthes on the front case and just above the webcam the paint finsh is not as smooth as it should be but that is all that i have noticed. I am not sure if i will do anything about that.

Now to try and familarise myself with Windows Vista i have never really used it before. I hate IE7 but hopefully i can get used to it a bit. I have also not used a 13 inch notebook in a while so i will have to get used to that again. It is great at least that i can put away the old desktop that i was using. I maybe tempted though if Apple release a 13 inch notebook though with a dedicated GPU as i like MacOSX but we shall see.

I am going to calibrate my battery later on i am not to sure if Dell notebook requires that but i will do it anyway.

Compensation wise i have been offered accidental cover i think that i may well need it with this laptop given the screen.

I am getting a replacement the scratches are not that bad but i have been offered one so i may as well take it. Of course i can keep onto this model until my replacement arrives.
I also think that there could be something maybe wrong with my bluetooth as it is rather hit and miss sometimes it works and sometimes it does not so maybe a replacement will sort out this problem as well.

I am getting used to IE7 to i have configured it to resemble IE6 so i am ok with that now. I will also order a bottle of iClean for the screen from amazon to keep it clean.

The XPSM1330 is the only computer that i have ever ordered in my life where the price has gone up after i have bought it lol.

oh my stars, I just spoke to Dell today on literally the worse phone line ever, the whole conversation was guesswork! Usually the lines are bad, but this took the biscuit! Anyway I explained mine was faulty (have noticed a weird white blob on the screen) and they are giving me a callback at 1pm tomorrow, so they say...

matt5cott my replacement XPS that has been sent out to me is black. I have been told today that they have no more white lids in but in the future they hope to be offering the white colour again. I am not accepting the black colour.

Oh i've not even been offered a replacement, when speaking to the tech support in Ire last week, they said that they would have to take my laptop in to take a look at it, and that I would have to wait up to another 30 days for a replacement

They offered me my money back, but that doesn't refund the 73 days I have had to wait, and the original salesperson has ignored all my requests RE compensation, I even emailed dell about this, also ignored

In the meantime the chap in Ire suggested I try turning speedstep off to see if it shuts the whine up, it doesn't it just makes it a constant pitch instead of variable. They said they would ring me Monday to see how I got on over the weekend, it's now Wednesday

I think that you should try emailing [email protected] he is the head of sales for the UK.
Somebody will respond to you if you mail them and hopefully they will do something for you.
