    UK M1330 Order Status Thread

    I am still waiting for my notebook. If the MacBooks were updated and using the SR chip and the x3100 integrated graphics I would probably opt for one of those instead even though i am not really keen on integrated graphics and i am not ecstatic about the MB keyboard( i have had a MacBook Pro but i don't want a 15inch laptop anymore). I ordered a white xps and it looks like there is a problem with Dell and this colour and the XPS 1330. If they turn around and tell me that I cannot get the notebook that I wanted in the colour I wanted I will just cancel as none of the other colours appeal to me. I am not totally sure what is happening in regards to this.

    I have raised a case with the Dell incident team about the way that I have been treated by Dell which mainly concerns another matter this case though may though make them give my current order more attention.

    Anyway I placed an order on the 7th of July and it had an ETA of the 2nd of August. On the 31st of July I received an email which informed me that my laptop would be delayed and the next day my order was canceled and rebooked. I am not happy that my laptop was canceled at all it is now showing an ETA of the 29th of August. The call centre keep on telling me that my order is in production when the online tracker and the order status update tell me that I am in pre production I don’t believe the call centre anymore. I am using a beat up desktop that has been loaned to me right now as i sold of my computers to get the XPS.

    I have also been charged for this laptop as well they put the money on hold then released it but on the 1st of August they went into go and take the money finally even though on that day they canceled my order.

    The prices of the laptops have dropped now quite a bit I do intend anyway to get a bit more money of and I will point this out to the Dell incident team when they contact me.

    rach, sounds like we're both in pretty much the same boat :( I have the white also.

    If you have a quick scan in the link on my sig thats pretty much what they have been doing to me so far, im guessing your case is similar/worse.

    I have had hell from Dell and it seems that from reading your webpage that you have to. This is what i am dealing with them sorry if it is so long.

    I have had a sales agent cause me so much trouble the very first sales agent who I placed an order with would just not leave me alone. I ordered with them in early July or maybe even late June and then cancelled and ordered through somebody else. The first sales agent was not happy and went onto have my order cancelled and got his sales supervisor to book it again and put it under their name. They just want their bonus. My last order that was cancelled I do believe was down to them as the order is now showing them as a sales agent when they were not the agent that I booked that order under. The day they found out about I used another agent on the 1st of August was the day that my order was cancelled and they called me back to rebook it the day after.

    I ordered my laptop on the 7th of July after cancelling an order that was rebooked for me. I told Dell not to rebook the cancelled laptop and they told me they would not. I went on holiday and left a family member to deal with Dell as I was expecting my laptop to ship and I was concerned that I would not be in the country as I was on holiday.
    The very first sales agent phoned my family member and they claim that they gave consent to rebook the cancelled laptop when I was out of the country my card was debited for the full money for a laptop that I never asked for. It is so wrong on many levels to say that family members can place orders and have my card charged I gave no consent.

    As I already had my other laptop that I wanted and ordered Dell also took the money for that a little while later. The first laptop that was ordered without my consent made me go overdrawn in one of my accounts and I need my money back from Dell I am not happy at all. I got that card stopped as Dell was abusing it i canceled the order that i never placed and they have refunded me but i want my charges back and i will get them.

    You seem to have been worse off than me rach, I should be amazed at the incompetence of the above, but im simply not, which goes to show the experiences I have had with Dell so far.

    Dell also seem to enjoy ringing me, I have NEVER rang them and nor do I intend to, all they seem to do is ring up and lie, its nice to see that this factor seems consistent with everyone who has ordered a 1330. Either that or we both have very sexy voices? (I suppose I do work on the phones a lot at work!)

    As you can see on my page, I actually queried why they had charged my card, I got no answers that made sense, I simply ran out of patience asking over and over again, VERY frustrating.

    It was your good deal that I used to get my good deal.. We both seem to have gotten charged on the 1st.. I wonder how many other people did.. maybe they needed funds to hire a cleaner for the paintshop.. meh..

    This is a proper debacle and the csr and now getting fed up with being asked questions... but then.. I thought you couldnt charge money for an item that didnt technically exist yet..

    I just canceled my order, a Dell rep rang to say that parts were delayed until 27th Aug which I presume would mean delivery in September. They're going to call back on Monday to confirm the refund. What do you reckon the lead time would be if I reordered with in black?

    I ordered Crimson red too & i just got off the phone with my rep and she said that i'm schedulled to get mine on the 23rd still... which is 1 day early!

    Ok this is promising. I've just received a call at work today saying my order has been dispatched and says so too on the online order status.

    You can see my order details in my signature. A lady rung me up saying I will receive it this Monday 13th and asked if I wanted it in the morning or afternoon. So there we go... looks like I may finally be receiving my M1330. Let's hope they get the order right and that there's nothing wrong with it.

    Congrats Kbc, but I have to say it frustrates me to see you get yours when I ordered mine with an identical spec on the 2nd July and still in pre-production.

    Obviously Dell are NOT building these and shipping on a FIFO basis. What a surprise.

    Hi John what i meant by that was that i had ordered the laptop that i wanted (as opposed to being reordered one and charged for one without my consent) i am still waiting upon that laptop.
    I have noticed though that the 1330 appears to have disappeared from your sig i was thinking that was maybe because you are currently out of the country or did you get fed up waiting?

    I just had a call from Dell telling me that my laptop is in production i don't know if i believe that or not.
    Kbc-it is very good that your laptop has shipped. I remember reading that you were dealing customer services in Ireland maybe this helped you get yours sooner than a lot of other people?

    Either its another blanket of lie bombs, or they are actually making progress.

    Im going for the former not the latter.

    Hmm... I was certainly surprised I got this phone call from Dell today. To be honest I didn't really make much of a complaint, made about 2 phone calls, a few emails about the order and that was it.

    I only dealt with my sales rep and that was it. But I have been told I will be receiving it Monday morning and this is reflected on my online order status.

    For what it's worth - I spoke to Dell supervisors today re change of EDD form 10 August to 24 September (XPS 1330 ordered 15 July).

    Apparnetly they are out of all Porcessors and will not be getting another Shipment for 27 days!

    Yes, I got fed up once the expected delay was confirmed. I rethought my requirements and decided that instead of having both a 15.4" and a 13.3" machine then I should compromise with a 14.1" machine. I got the Zepto 6024W (ordered on a Thursday, arrived the next Tuesday) and I'm road-testing it on a business trip. 14.1" WXGA+ gives useful extra real estate compared with 13.3" WXGA but is more readable than 15.4" WSXGA.

    Obviously, the Zepto is significantly heavier and a bit bigger than the M1330 but I have satisfied myself that it can do everything I normally require somy Samsung X60 plus will be needing a new home. Battery life is below expectations because there are some power management issues which I hope Zepto is working on. Fortunately, I put a spare battery in the order.

    I'll be putting a review together next week.

    OMG....guys i cant believe this. had a call this morning from Dell rep saying my order has been despatched. and its scheduled to arrive here anytime between 8-12 A.M tomorrow morning.

    here's my specs:
    T7500,160GB, RED (yes its a red one), LED, Fingerpring, 8400, 2 GB Ram,

    ordered on 29th but it got cancelled for some reason so i reordered on 3rd of july.

    IS THIS THE FIRST RED IN EUROPE??? and am i the first one in the UK to get it?? anyone who's got theirs please let me know.

    now....time for a breather. so here's what i have found from my Dell experience so far.

    * Dell CSR have absolutely no clue whats going on, they are pretty much useless. but on second though its not their fault. they have absolutely no information to feed you.

    * Till yesterday i was having absolutely nightmarish conversation with my Dell CSR and the only thing he would keep saying is "Sir, please be patient, we have expedited your order and we should be able to deliver the laptop before 17th. "
    now the funny thing is my laptop was depatched on 8th. but the sales rep had no clue. also the website kept showing two order numbers when i checked my status.

    anyway, expect a proper review ( i mean it) and tons of quality pictures tomorrow. Fingures crossed i dont get a faulty one.

    heres to everyone who is waiting, if i got mine so should you. Hope you get the good news soon.

    Well I'm viewing this thread on my red M1330 now. Only thing is I have the CCFL display. Can't see you'd be first in Europe to have the LED even, pretty sure some people on this forum from Europe got theirs, not to mention the thousands of other people.

    I'm pretty bored of waiting now. Played with a sony fz in comet the other day. I'm starting to convince myself i don't need an ultra portable and may get something like that. 8400gt will be nice, its beautifully built. Keyboard wasn't fantastic but not bad..

    oh and I can have one today lol...

    Just checked my order and it seems the order status is broken. It lists my order twice and when you click on it it just refreshes the same page and lists my order twice. Can't even see if its still in Pre-production.

    Ah well, I'll just keep spamming refresh till they fix it! ;)

    jtromans Dell already reimbursed me, at least that was fast. And they told that when I re-order I'll have some compensation not as a coupon but as a upgrade.

    that might be a good thing actually. it happened to me for 4 days constantly. i was on preproduction till last week. suddenly it started working on thursday and it had skipped all the stages and showed my system has been shipped. Woo hoo.

    i just came home for a quick lunch break. and i had to open it.
    trust me- no amount of pictures can do it justice. this is one of the most beautiful gadget i have ever owned. the red looks absolutely awesome.

    i am really tempted to boot it up but i have to eat and go back to sodding work. :( oh well only 3 hours more to go.

    i think i mentioned it somewhere but here it is

    T7500 2.2 Ghz, 2 GB ram, 160 GB HDD, W/LED, Crimson Red, Fingerprint scanner,8400 graphic card.

    also after playing with it for like 2 hours i realised that the bastards haven't given me fingerprint scanner. :mad2:

    i am really pissed off with Dell. i am gonna give them a call and they better replace this baby ASAP.

    does anyone know how that works?? do i get to keep this untill they send me the new one???

    Dell have given me a new EDD of 27/09/2007. :) What a joke. I want my laptop.

    My first date was 23/7/2007 > 15/08/2007 > Now 27/09/2007.

    Has anyone's XPS shipped in the UK yet?

    I agree djrm it looks sleeker. but i i really wanted the fingerprint scanner and i am annoyed that after all this delay they cant even deliver the right product.

    dell is going to have one very irate customer calling them on Monday but then i guess ever since they launched XPS 1330 thats all they must be getting .ha ha ha.

    I ordered mine without it, although I'm thinking I probably should've got it for an extra tenner - didn't even look at how much it cost. When you say sleeker, what do you mean? It just doesn't have the reader on the right of the palm rest?

    I agree. Plus this must be troublesome to keep dust-free.

    The funny thing is that some people are getting theirs with the fingerprint scanner even though they didn't order it...

    Totally. Comparing photos with and without im 100% sure i dont want it. Its just unnecessary imho, a gimmick.
