I don't think it will arrive before. It looks like Schenker is pretty accurate in thieir ETA calulations.

Mine is still in production... they are taking their time with mine obviously

Bloomin' Heck I ordered on 7/8 (that's 7th of August) and still in pre-production I just called the customer care team to see whether I can receive my order any earlier than 31/8 and they have now emailed the order processing team to see what they can do. All this waiting...I just hope it is worth it..

 

I ordered on 27/7 and I have the same arrival date.

 

Mine has now despatched apparently (from stage 1 to 5 in one day....)

I don't think its right tho, had no emails confirming anything.

 

On average how long have people had to wait to go from pre-production stage to the next stage?

 

preproduction - production = 11 days
production - packing - despatched = 8 hours

7/8 is nothing (taking into account current delays)! I have been waiting a month in total!

My 1500 has now been shipped! all in one day!!

I could actually see how the things moved! One minute is boxing and about 20 mins later it was shipped! The electronic slip is filled in as well and I now have walsh wester's tracking number, so I don't think its a mistake they really are building vostros.

Hopefully the backlog is cleared and they 'll start pumping 1700's soon.

 

The backlog is 11 days!!!! wow.

Fingers crossed I should have it early next week!!

 

WAHEY Mine is in Delivery Preparation Phase 4, pfft it was pre production yesterday. Omg cant wait FINALLY! I think I will be joining the shipment club later today

 

Is there any one from Europe who received their Vostro 1400?

It seems like Things are not very good for Vostro 1400s yet......People with 1500s and 1700s seems to be the lucky ones.

 

Oh my God.... This is Dell or Hell.......I just checked my Order Status in the Status page and my Estimated Delivery date was moved to 03.10.2007 From 21.08.2007.......I ordered my Laptop on 01.08.2007........Dont know whats hapening...When I called my Rep, F****ing , She is not in office today and will b back on sunday.....Cant figure out what dell is doing.......

Did any one in europe who ordered Vostro 1400 had a EDD moved to later date......This is just getting worse.......

 

1700 the lucky onces? Which person in europa did get its 1700? i haven't seen one yet. (also no review at all here on notebookreview for the 1700, which i also find strange)

But here in the Netherlands i see more and more reports of 1700 and the XPS 1330 being pushed back to late September or even already October...

I also think i won't get it on my current EDD (24-8). I guess i know in a few days when the 4-5 day before the EDD is reached and then mine will also be pushed i guess to September...

A co worker of mine ordered 6 days before me the 1330 his target is already set to beginning of September, but he ordered with led so i also guess that will also become October...

 

Just had a call from Dell........ they are delivering my Vostro 1500 on Monday!

 

Not quite.. it was Walsh Western on behalf of Dell I got the same call, getting the laptop monday am

 

Dell just called me, a very nice and honest guy.. He told me that he didn't know and could tell me when the Vostro 1700 (or the XPS 1330) could arrive. The screens where still the biggest problem, he guessed that by the end of this month/beginning of next month the Vostro's would be produced a bit more and that i could be lucky that mine would be between them. But for the XPS 1330 with led he was even more pessimistic and that could go into October...

So the long wait is far from over for me and my co worker.

 

My Vostro is in the House!!!!

 

Good to hear that AiA... I must say I am going to miss coming here and complaining about EDDs Mine is coming Monday morning. I ordered a day later than you, cancelled and re-ordered and I should only get the laptop 1 business day after you haha. I really hope Dell aren't like this next time I am looking for a new laptop.

Here is an update on issues i've read about on the forum and what I have of them:
- No battery wobbeling whatsoever, it sticks to its place tightly. (9-Cell)
- No gainey screen
- Yes there is headphone interfairence but not noticable when i listen to suff or plug it to sepakers (so im not gonna reture or complaine to dell)
- Yes I received a recovery windows disc (But I dislike Norwegian Windows Vista so Im in the process of installing English XP.)

Anything else? It so smooth and metallic! I love it!

 

I ordered my Vostro 1400 yesterday (im in the UK) and the esitimated delivery date was the 2nd of October! Then on the same day i got a call saying it will arrive within 6-7 days! Maybe this is a blessing from God due to me having to order and reorder 4 vostro laptops lol

 

am so jealous if u aia.... well mine is at the hub in frankfurt.. will get it monday morning !

 

Haha mine has an estimated date of Monday too on the walsh western website - no phonecall here though!

Gave Dell a call today and they were able to confirm that my order has now been dispatched, I actually went 'woohoo!' on the phone lol! Oh btw on the walsh & western site tracking it says Qty of boxes '4' and I ordered my laptop, carry case, and also printer. What do you think the the 4 boxes are for? Anyone else got this? What do others say?

 

Heyy guys! I ordered my dell vostro 1500 in the UK on the 10th August and checked today, apparently its dispatched!! Can this be true considering I was told my EDD was 5th Sept! Or is the dell status system jus playing games with me?!!

 

Its probably true vostro, they seem to be doing a load of them at once! Congrats!

I'm slightly worried still that I havnt had a phonecall :s

 

Hey guys, is the EMEA status thing working? I ordered my vostro 1400 on the 12th, EMEA still says its in pre-pro. Any opinions?

 

Sounds normal, mine was in preproduction for 11 days then moved thru the other 4 stages in one day

 

Argh! All this talk of people's Vostros shipping is getting me depressed! I ordered my 1500 on the 6th August and EMEA still says pre-production.

 

Ah unlucky mate I wouldn't worry as mine went from pre-production to shipping in one day! I rekon yours will be shipped on Monday, I ordered 7/8 a day after you too..

 

[Order details in Signature] I called my CSR today to know whats the delay and she transfered my call to a manager and he says its with the Core 2 duo T7100 processors and bluetooth supplies which are delaying the laptops.....I cant understand this...when Vostro 1500 which even has the same Processors and bluetooth device are delivered (even though slowly) whats the problem with Vostro 1400s....He told me he will call me in an hour and sort my delay...But no call for the last 3hrs....Dell is Hell.....Im right now on chat with another CSR to know managers Contact details to contact him.......

 

Ah my processor was an Intel Core 2 Duo T7500, that explains that there wasn't quite a delay for me..

 

Well my Vostro has a T7100 processor. Maybe that's why mine's still in pre-production?

The Dell guy I spoke to about delivery, blamed Intel for not meeting the market demand.

 

My laptop is in the Cardiff depot now according to Walsh Western, just down the road!!

I had the same processor on my order and it was shipped within 7 days of ordering, so it might not be that.

 

Well I checked the tracking on mine this morning (11:30).
Said it was at the depot.
Phoned the depot, they said they had it and I could collect it if I can get there before 12 when they close.
Got there at 11:53

Been using my Vostro 1500 for a few hours now and no complaints so far

 

WOW!

My order has been dispatched today (see my signature for details), and is now with the carrier.

It was ordered on 5 August, and the Estimated Delivery Date was 31 August!

So I guess I should get get it before the end of next week!

It seems that things really are starting to move (literally) with the Vostros in Europe - should be good news for all then I hope!

 

WOOT! I just checked it today. Now it says it's in Production since 7th August :S Confusing as hell, but at least the balls rolling now
