***XPS M1530 Order Status Thread***

Just checked the status of my m1530 and it's at the Atlanta Hub in Georgia, if it follows suit like my printer did and the portable HDD w/ Backpack did which were all shipped separately, I should have it Tuesday.

 

I'm impressed. I placed on order on Thursday and the estimated ship date was 3/30. On Friday, I decided to upgrade from Intel 3945 wireless card to Intel wireless-n card. In order to make this change, the order had to be cancelled. I cancelled my order and placed another order and this time the ship date was 3/31 . Oh well, such is life. I had resigned myself that the order will not arrive until after 4/3. Imagine my surprise when I checked the order status today and it had been shipped!

Now, that's fast. I hope everything goes well and I do not have problems other users have experienced.

Odd. I now have a working service tag for my laptop (the service tag did not work until two days after shipping), but when I view the system information on the Dell webpage, it still does not display actual part numbers on anything.

Maybe the part #'s will show up later?

 

Been browsing these forums for a week, thought I would sign up and post a bit. I ordered my 1530 last Friday the 21 with,

I got the tracking number from DHL in a few hours, very fast compared to what I hear it usually takes, and they only show one entry

First, I don't think I will get it by the time dell says I will cause thats extremely fast for the original free 3-5 day shipping, what does everyone else think? Also, I have been reading that DHL updates tracking quite poorly, so should I trust their system and does shipment acknowledged even mean they have it?

EDIT: Nevermind, it is now in transit and has made it to the state right next to mine

 

Ordered My M1530 today at about 10am (25th march 2008) And in one day I went from Pre-production to Delivery Preparation, within 12 hours. Which seems very good from what I have heard about other peoples experiences on these forums with an EDD of 8th April.

How long does it normally take from delivery prep to actually getting shipped out?

Also have the x-Fi xtreme card and a mouse coming today which was estimated to ship 4/11.

I got the free 3-5 business day shipping and turns out I will (hopefully) get it 2 days after it ships.

I also got the kr515 LG screen

 

same here. I ordered an xps 630. Friday 21st. Then I check this morning on my iPhone as soon as I woke up. Nothing still in production since Saturday morning. Its driving me nuts. I actually checked this particular thread to see if anyone is in the same boat as me. Looks like it.

 

The first time i ordered mine was in production for a while, I cancelled and re-ordered and 6 days later my xps is about to be delivered.

 

the funny thing is I bought an E1505 last year at the same time in march. I ordered it on a Friday. I got it the following Thursday. I was very pleased to see such a quick turn around time. But I'm really hoping that I get it by the end ofthe week. I noticed when getting my laptop the dell order status was inaccurate as I got my laptop while it was still had a few days to go before I recieved it. But so far I have been pleased with with the laptop but also I used to have a gateway desktop that failed shortly after the dell came. So for the dell has been both a desktop and laptop. I really want this desktop because my laptop can't take the abuse or play games.

 

I ordered 3/22. It went to production the next day, and is in production now. I called to check the status to see if there were any predicted delays. The automated systems says its in boxing, however, the barely english speaking person I spoke with said its still in production and not predicted to ship till 4/1. SIGH. Is there anyway yet to tell which screen my build has?

After beeing so depressed that nothing EVER happened - EVERYTHING happened in just a little short while, as a matter of fact, we are talking hours!
Order date: 03/19 and has been in preproduction phase ever since until tonight when they are preparing shipping!!

UPDATE: The package has now left Dell and is with their delivery partner (Schenker here in Sweden)

UPDATE 2: ahh - delivery date set to 3/31 (Monday) - daaang it's gonna be a long weekend for leoni

 

good news got sent out at 8:10 pm yesterday (26) night central time from round rock texas. I live in Michigan. I believe I am 2 hrs ahead. Anyways its free standard delivery. Does that mean truck or plane? Any guesses how long it should take? I really hope Friday. God the wait is killing me.

 

Hey guys I'm having a problem.

I ordered an XPS M1530 and an Inspiron 1525.

I bought the XPS @ around 12PM 3/25/2008 and the Inspiron 1525 around 2PM. Both of the laptops were on the credit card. I looked at the order status of the XPS and there WAS NO SHIPPING OR BILLING INFORMATION.. but the Inspiron does have it.

When I look at Order Status, I have the Inspiron listed, but not the XPS. What's going on? Has something of this matter happened to anyone?

 

ordered 19th of march, and is currently with local courier. estimated delivery date is still displayed as 14th of april but i beleive this is because they ran out of the palmrest part and received it back in stock earlier than expected.

Happened to me i ordered once and canceled it, this one showed up with that information. But when i ordered another system it didn't have it. I believe it was because the first one i purchased where i logged in at with with my username, then 2nd time around I may have skipped that part, or it wasn't under my username with dell. If that makes any sense lol.

 

Unfortunately not until it ships, then you can call Dell and get your service tag and register it on Dell's site, when you do that it will show you the model number for your screen. Also it is possible for it to ship faster than the expected ship date. Mine was scheduled to ship on 3/24 and arrive 3/27, it actually shipped 3/22 and was delivered 3/25 with the free 3-5 day shipping.

I did get the service tag number and checked my specs. It appears I have hit the jackpot and got the good screen. WHEW!

Hey guys, I see that the m1530 has a hard drive upgrade option from a 320GB 5400rpm SATA to a 200GB 7200rpm SATA Free Fall Sensor for $100 more.

1. Anyone know which brand hard drive this is?

Can anyone please tell me how to find out if I got the LG or the Samsung screen? I read here that I need to call Dell and get my service tag number (my laptop supposedly arrives tomorrow) and then go to Dell's website.

Will my service tag number be on my laptop - just in case I can't call today?

What do I do with the service tag? Go to dell.com and then what?

Please help.

 

Never mind. I called Dell and got the service tag and added it in "My Systems and Peripherals". I got a Samsung. Did anyone at all get an LG with their M1530 (WSXGA+ 1680x1050)? So far, I think I've only heard about people exchanging their Samsung for an LG.

My laptop and my warranty are listed apart from one another - they both said 'In Production' but the warranty has changed to 'Shipped.' Meanwhile the system itself still says 'In Production.'

I was extremely frustrated at first, my M1530 was going to take 3-4 weeks to deliver.

Ordered in....5 days ago and now the status has been changed from "in production" to shipped I guess whatever set them back isn't any more!
