And now I am in the boxing stage!
:-D
-
Hopefully they will ship both of ours by tomorrow. -
usually 2 - 4 days. That includes the time when it transports from Malaysia to Nashville.
I think we got the same system, on the same day. Haha. -
My luck they will probably be back ordered on boxes.... -
Yay, just received my new ESD: 06/03/2008
-
My ESD is 6/5, I went into boxing Yesterday. Should I get a new ESD? If I dont do I still have the possibility of shipping earlier?
-
Just got the email that my shipping date has been delayed to 5/30, *sigh*.
-
-
Here we go, I just got an email as well stating my order has been delayed until 5/30.
-
Awesome, Im not getting my hopes up too high but wow, I really hope it does. Does the shipping run on saturday? I have overnight.
-
My order just went into testing and boxing today. Checked this morning, It said testing. Checked again few minutes ago, Now boxing. Looks like I'll be getting it this Friday hopefully as it take 3 days for boxing, I would guess, Ship out from Nashville by Thursday. Then arrive here on Friday with free next day shipping.
-
I would go ahead the people with overnight who went into boxing last night or today should probally expect a delivery on Monday, not friday.
Its the Dell Way :-D -
I know this because my situation is the same as yours, and I fully expect that to happen to me. -
So I ordered the computer from EPP on 4/24 and it is now over a month later with no shipment, specs listed below. My Estimated date was 5/27, now past, I got an email today delaying it to 6/3 and when I called customer service they told me not to expect it before 6/16...
I really don't know what to do, so I just asked my sales rep for a discount/upgrade but I don't think I can do much else.
Apparently now its just the hard drive and the battery holding it back, but if its true that the battery is unavailable until July due to their factory biting it in the Chinese Earthquake, that is going to be almost 3 months between ordering and recieving my computer... -
Wow, start dialing and asking for managers, tell them you see other people on the forums getting there laptops. Yell, who cares. If I was you I would be yelling.
-
-
I guess I won't be joining the many of you lucky people who got their orders filled. Looks like mine was put on hold until 6/3. I am going to give them a good talking to right now. If they delay it again, Dell will not have my business.
-
Well I don't know what to do but wait and yell at them a few times hoping to get something free because I'm not getting the deal I got anywhere else... Too bad it feels like they are taking my laptop and giving it to other people who paid more for it right now even though I was ahead in line...
-
-
I just called Dell and the rep said that IN PRODUCTION should take 7 to 10 days at most. My ESD in the website is 12/06 but he says it should be in BOXING or SHIPPING by next friday, which is 6/06.
-
6/12 not 12/6. 12/6 Is December lol
-
-
It's just a different date format. MM/DD/YY <> DD/MM/YY
-
Well why do you get to have both its confusing. Stick with what everyone else uses.
-
I believe it'll be Friday because my wife's M1330 went into boxing on last Tuesday and it shipped Thursday and I got it on Friday. I ordered it with 3-5 days shipping, for some reason, they shipped it overnight. I didn't even ask for it. Nice of Dell.
-
Heres hoping, I wont bother calling the hotline until tomorrow, tomorrow night.
-
you need to call 1-800-695-8133 ext 72-66409 to get some discount for your delay order.
According to my sales rep... I'll try it in a bit -
Seriosuly though dude, I don't know what to make of your delay. Seems like I've seen various systems encompassing all of your hardware slip through in the last two days. I don't have any idea how the Dell queuing process works, but it sure seems like you should have made it through. I'd seriously call Dell and ask some questions.
On the upside, I think that when they delay orders they usually tag on a week or so at minimum. When looking through some older messages on this board over the last week, seems like a lot of guys would get delay notices for a week or more, then it'd ship in 2 days. As always, they probably want to have a cushion in there.
I still think you'll get a status change within the next day. -
I called Dell, and they said that they never heard of an expedited order. They claim that they can't change orders once they have been placed. I yelled at the person over the phone and at least I got a person who understood me and stayed on the line until I was done yelling (I already had 2 CSRs hang up on me). He did the right thing and apologized for the delay, but he sent something to the "concerns" department (whatever that is
) and told me to hold on for a little longer. I hope he is telling the truth; this actually might work out! I am remaining optimistic that in a few days, my order will be filled.
-
Holy crap, I just checked a status of my system. And what do I see? :|
"Estimated Ship Date: 5/27/2008
Est. Delivery Date: 5/30/2008-6/3/2008
Order Status: In Production
Carrier: Not Shipped"
So Dell is just fu***ng kidding me. If they can't complete their orders on time, why don't they announce that?
I'd do the same thing right now, but I'm currently in Europe and I'm not gonna pay for the international call. Lucky Dell... :S -
Mine's been in production since 4/26... I think I have you beat, I'm going to yell a bit later when I'm done with work...
Edit:
I ordered online through my company's corporate account and then canceled over the phone to add another 10% coupon, having the CSR reenter my order to apply it... I don't think the method you order it by matters. -
The one thing that I really can't stand is why people with later order dates have their systems already in boxing?!
-
-
I mentioned before that I'm not gonna yell at Dell Consultants on Chat. They really can't help me, so... there is no point.
BTW, I know link to Dell Chat very well (or even better) :> -
Well I just got on the phone and they said they will "expedite" my order but they can't give me any discounts or guarantees as to when I will get it...
-
So you'll get your laptop on the 17th of June now. I start throwing out the "C" word.
-
Well.... when I check the order status page it still hasn't updated so it still says ESD 5/28..... But yeah I called up and they haven't even started assembling it yet, its still sitting in a bag of pieces they said...
-
Holy crap, was about to call customer service again, but decided to check the auto status thing and it's in the Testing stage... and there was much rejoicing.
-
Congratulations tdf! Im on day 2 of boxing, I really hope I ship thursday.
-
I was going to my online order confirmation (I ordered by phone with an EPP) to get the specs for my new M1530, and the status of the order went in that 5 minutes from "In production" to "Shipped".
XPS M1530, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9300 (2.5GHz/800MHzFSB, 6M L2 Cache)
4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz (2 Dimms)
256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
9-cell Primary Battery
15.4 inch LED LCD (1440x900)
Order date 5/15, est. ship date 6/16, status as of today, SHIPPED!
I also have an order for an Expresscard Sound Blaster X-FI XTREME Audio Laptop outboard card that has an ESD of 6/30...
Reading through the posts, I was getting worried... -
Great news BGraph! Seems like alot of people are getting lucky and those who got screwed are getting it harder.
-
Thanks.
I am very surprised, I was pretty sure it was going to be a few more weeks.
Hang in there! -
I think I'm just going to try to cancel my Dell order and order a Asus tonight ASUS M50 Series M50Sv-A1 .
At least that way I know I'll have it in my hands before next Friday.
Hopefully, Dell will let me cancel b/c they still haven't changed the ESD from 6/4. and so far never been delayed.
I just honestly have no choice but to cancel since I need it by next Friday.
Sadly I feel torn. I know if I call CSR they will tell me it will get there on or BEFORE the EDA (6/5) so don't worry. Also, the Asus is 200 dollars or so cheaper even with overnight shippping.
Still debating though, I like the look of the XPS alot more. -
WHY IS THE PRIORITIZATION SO ****ING BAD. -
It seems pretty random, the sales rep on the phone was evasive about the ship date when I originally ordered, which is why I came here and lurked for a bit.
I'm going to call tomorrow about tracking info, as there doesn't seem to link to it from the order confirmation website. -
If you end up going that direction, report back and tell us how you like it. You wouldn't believe how close I was to ordering that. If I'd had a chance to actually see it, it might have happened. -
I'm also drifting in that direction. If I don't get tracking numbers by friday I'm canceling this order and driving down the street to get Asus.
-
-
There's no denying that the M1530 is a nicer-looking notebook.
By the way, when you dissed the M50 the other day you neglected to note that the M50 has gigabit ethernet and an eSATA port. I'm telling you man, it's a nice notebook. -
Like I said, my aggressive tone was just to convince you to hold on to the M1530. I know the ASUS isn't a bad notebook by all means, but aside from the eSATA and the gigabit ethernet, the points I brought up about pros of M1530 over Asus M50 still hold. So... your not at a loss even though M1530 doesn't have a gigabit ethernet port or esata, it has other advantages besides aesthetics.
