Told you hwa1201 that you get a shipment on Monday. The damned 6 cell are a killer. I would have reordered but they did something to some item because mine was 1290 after tax and I can't get that anymore. I just rebuilt also and it looks like theres a 4 day delay on the 8600 now too.

Thing is, I believe the graphics card is on the motherboard, so that = motherboard delay.

For reference, and interest of others: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=260448

I created a list of all of the delayed parts for the XPS Lineup (1330, 1530, and 1730).

Mine's been in "Boxing Stage" since June 12th. I ordered it on June 7th. ESD is still June 19th. I would think it probably will ship sometime early next week though since its already been in the boxing stage for a few days. Although who knows what stage it really is on.

    Opps...Nevermind...it just shipped :)

    Original EST Ship Date: 19th
Actual Ship date: June 14th ...shipment data received by DHL
    Estimated Delivery June 18th

I requested an invoice...what does that mean?

Yeah, probably cause you got a 6 Cell battery. I wanted a 6 Cell to be honest, but I got the 9 Cell because it was a free upgrade and was NOT delayed.

It was an option when I ordered. Had a choice between 6 cell and 9 cell. It said the 6 cell was delayed and that the 9 cell was a free upgrade, so I went with the 9 cell.

Ugh... I've been in boxing since Wednesday(6/11), although I shouldn't really complain too much since it isn't supposed to ship until 7/2, although it seems like the 6 cell battery delay isn't too much of a big deal as much anymore. I just hope it ships sometime next week, that would be excellent

Mine's was in boxing from June 12th till early this morning, then it shipped. I'd imagine yours will ship either today or monday. If its in boxing then they must have all the parts.

Yeah its known that the 6 cell is in hell right now but it was a good 180 when I ordered and now the Dell reps won't allow changes. When I replicate my order now it is an extra 140 with the free battery.

Also it seems a couple of users get through with the 6 cell but it is still a big problem as a majority of 6 cell orders are still waiting.

You didn't really order anything that's in high demand, so they can build yours quickly. If you ordered a 6-cell battery? Atleast a month wait, unfortunately.

Didn't you get a delay e-mail? Should have gotten one if your ESD was yesterday.

I pray, every time I call that number that I will hear something OTHER than "build".

I ordered my m1530 on May 24,2008. ESD was June 13th. (Bogus, by the way). Got delay email saying it is now moved to 6/20/08. This is pretty ridiculous. Customer service says there are no parts issues on their end. It has been in the build stage for over three weeks!! I'm considering just cancelling and going with something else.

What are the specs for your 1530? Thats pretty ridiculous about your delay- I know Dell gets a ton of orders and everything but come on, can't they get a laptop out in less than a month!?

Cyberwulf: I have identical order days (in business days) and we have the same ESD's. Your getting a delay on the 6-cell battery regardless of what dell is telling you. Sometimes you can get a hold of a rep on email that will confess delays and apologize repeatedly. You've already been at it for almost 3 weeks so I say hold on. I felt like canceling too but I'm going to just hold out considering shipment day is only 5 days away.

HUZZAH! I just called the automated line expecting to hear that my order was still in production and was currently in the boxing stage, but it is in now in the hands of the carrier! Even though I have next day shipping they I'm not expected to get it till 6/17, but I'm just excited its shipping!!! :D

Oh and continued patience to everyone that ordered before me and still is in build stage.... :spinny:

Edit: Yeah I just got the official shipping info email- I guess I'll be getting my 1530 tomorrow (6/16)!

One day before the ESD, and I'm still in build and yet there doesn't seem to be much of a battery shortage spite a 4-day delay. I'll be leaving for a Funeral so I won't be back later tomorrow night, and then I'll have my say with a CSR.

    Ugh.

I'm in a similar boat as polarix,

    Ordered: 5/27 ESD: 6/16 EDD 6/20

    T8300, GeForce 8600M,
    Jet Black, 6 Cell battery,
    4GB RAM
    250GB 5400RPM HDD
    1440x900 LCD Screen

Today, the day before the ESD, the computer is STILL in the build stage ...

TBQH, it's really pissing me off that people that ordered similar products 2 weeks after me are getting theres before me, Dell needs to sort their s**T out

Yes. Even though it may be a different processor, hard-drive, and screen, those parts are widely and readily available and by NO MEANS should it take THREE to FOUR weeks to build a computer.

Edit: The -same- computer that I just built at dell.com now has an ESD of 6/26/08. Okay, eleven days but mine is taking 24+? Do I not get any sort of Priority? If I ordered the same exact one now and got it on the 26th, the one that I ordered on 5/27/08 will probably arrive around the same time, but ordered THREE WEEKS EARLIER. What about this seems wrong? EVERYTHING.

I feel ya. I'd like to have the laptop so I have something to play with for the ride, and possibly when I'm bored. The latest EDD was the 23'rd, so if Dell followed their estimates, I'd be having a laptop by then.

    stupid 6 cell battery.....
I know it is coming, but this does seem to be a bit excessive for a wait. They should just upgrade the battery as a courtesy. I won't be in town the week its now projected to arrive, so I'll probably miss it, and cause even more delays.

Question, as this may pertain to myself and Cyberwulf.

If we are not there to receive the package for all delivery attempts, does it stay at DHL so we go pick it up or does it get sent back to Dell?

Polarix, you're gonna get at least a week delay on the ESD. My ESD of 6/13 was pushed back to 6/20. Just know that there are also people who ordered BEFORE YOU who are still in the build stage. Mine's been in build for 21 days now.

Wouldn't be so bad if my Acer wasn't in for repair, apparently a ground shipment back to them even though I ticked Air, should arrive with them sometime Tuesday but I ordered a Dell hoping it would take a week to ship, like my brothers had months back! I don't quite understand it, weren't they aware laptops are in demand now? =]

Well, I'm in South Dakota now and OMG they have a computer in the lobby. Coincidence, it's a Dell. I'll be able to check my delay status then tomorrow if it updates right away on the webpage, or is it a delayed update?

It's summer time. You have college kids buying laptops for school. Plus, dell just had a pretty big sale about a week ago with some insane prices. I noticed that the XPS ship dates got pushed back even more during that time.

FWIW, I know its been said before, but ordering your computer over the phone and being able to speak with someone might be the way to go with respect to getting your computer before the ship date- I know it helped me out. Not only was I able to get free next day shipping and $50 knocked off the price, but the rep I spoke with told me he would expedite my order when it had an initial delivery date of 7/2 (due to 12 day delay of 6 cell batteries). To my surprise I should get my 1530 either tomorrow or Tuesday...
