***XPS M1530 Order Status Thread***

How long does it take for Dell to package the computer? It's been in packing stage since yesterday.

 

Lord// Yea I did get delay emails on my ESD but couple hours later I checked
my order status and it said my XPS and office 2007 has been shipped.
So it shipped right on time and I just received office 2007 today and
I think I could get the XPS tomorrow.
You should just let Dell give a shot and wait till 20th.
I'm sure it's going to be worth ur wait and u waited this much.
So if Dell ships on 20th, I'm sure u will receive it by next tuesday or so.

Day 22.

I feel as if my journey will never end. I frivolously call the number that was inscribed on the wall only to hear that I am still in the build stage. Will this ever end? I am trapped. I hear others in the adjacent cells complaining about the same issues. If I do not make it out of here, I hope whoever finds this journal will continue to harass D.E.L.L. (Defiantly Evil Laptop Lackeys).

 

For me, it's been 12 days for me.

As of yesterday, I've been googling and youtubing video of m1530 laptops because I want it now, and I can't wait. I feel like it's christmas all over again.

I've got you suckers beat. delayed ESD is 6/20. Laughing really hard at the thought of it actually being shipped by then. I have never been more sure of anything in my lifetime than the fact that this computer shipment will be delayed a second time. I doubt I recieve the computer before July.

 

This is going to be 1 boring 2 weeks.

 

I haven't been waiting nearly as long as some of you but I am starting to feel your pain....ordered on 6/9 and am still in build stage...

 

We're in the same boat, man. I ordered mine on the morning of the 25th and ESD is, and has been the 19th in my case. The night before I ordered ESD was 6/6! I have a feeling if it gets delayed (which, considering it's been in build for 24 days and counting, that the delay date will move into July and I won't receive it for another month.

I've basically given up on calling customer support as they seem more inclined to encourage you to cancel your order than actually providing any details as to why these massive delays are occurring.

 

Im betting the battery shipment to dell malaysia on the 20th clears all us long timers up....

Mine just showed up about an hr ago. I ordered on the 8th and received on the 18th... not bad but not great. The woman is getting it all setup for me for when I get home. I emailed her a list of things to check for (ie raised keyboard, dents, etc)
I hope its all good. Lets see those pics!

I'll call, and when she starts to say "And is currently", I'm already in the process of closing the phone (cell phone) so I can just make out the last word of "build" before it ends the call.

On 6/18 received email that it is now in the hands of DHL.
Current DHL tracking info says: "shipment acknowledged". What the heck is that?

Mine said shipment acknowledged yesterday morning. now it's at my home. it came from TN and shipped to MI.

 

I'm just going to think that my laptop is never coming.

HAHA that's great. I seriously tried that from when I ordered in May. Did everything I possibly could to try to forget about it. Worked for a little bit but the delay is now killing me. To think, In a non-delayed world I'd be enjoying it right about now.


The t-shirt idea is hilarious. Another not as serious idea is dells slogan.

Their response when I asked about how they process orders:

"I have reviewed your account details. I see that the order is in production. Accordingly, the order is estimated to be shipped out on or before June 27, 2008. Please be assured that all orders at Dell are treated on priority and every effort is made to ship out orders as soon as possible."

 

Funny, I got the EXACT same reply. Gotta love minimum wage monkeys who read off a script all day. Customer Support my ass.

 

Ha nice design. I've been trying to weed myself off the internet to stop thinking about dell. I'm implementing the same strategy of forgetting and then being surprised when a DHL truck arrives.

Now that I came here I couldn't' resist a good dell automated call so I went to call from my phone and it says call failed. I call someone else and it works. Call dell again and nothing. Have I been blocked from dell. Those bastards.

Update: I used the house phone and it went through instantly. I've used my cell phone exclusivily to call the automated number. I think I've been cut off.

 

Well everything has gone smoothly so far, shipment is on its way even had an automated call from Purolator/Dell letting me know the EDD.

 

I ordered mine on 6/12 and it says its EDS is 6/26, which isn't bad...right? The order status reads "In Production". Funnily enough, I also ordered a belkin messenger bag (from Dell) and while on the main account page, the status reads "pre-production", on the order status page it reads "in production" with a EDS way out in July! Anyone know what's up with that?

I'm just hoping the delivery of my xps isn't delayed or pushed back or anything, what with the stuff I've been reading here.

 

Day 23: Just called, laptop is still in the Build stage.

I really, really don't see why it takes 23 days just to build a computer. I'm seriously starting to think this laptop is never coming.

 

Trust me, I hear you. Day 25 here, still in build stage. And I haven't even been officially delayed yet. Today was my original estimated ship date, so I suppose I can expect my first delay email tonight or tomorrow morning.

If it doesn't ship today, and I do get a delay message, I will be calling Dell and demanding to speak to a manager to find out what is going on. And I want a shipping upgrade as well. If they care so little about their customers that they can't do that, I'll be canceling the order. If this is how Dell treats their customers before you even receive your product, I can't imagine how bad it is when you need warranty service.

I've ordered my M1530 on 5/28. Old ESD was 6/17 delayed to 7/1 (2 weeks delay...)

I e-mail Customer Care, and I get the following:

"I understand from your email that you wish to know the reason for the delay of your order number 326009010 and you would like to have a free upgrade from 6-cell battery to 9-cell battery. I will be glad to assist you.

I would like to inform you that your order is getting delayed because of the center dashboard. I would also like to inform you that any kind of change to an existing order is not possible. If you still wish to upgrade the battery, I would request you to contact our sales department for detailed information at:

1-800-999-3355, 8 am to 9 pm CST, and 7 days a week they will be able to cancel and re-enter your order with the upgraded battery."

Trying to get the battery upgrade aside, do you know what exactly is a "center dashboard". I'm no computer idiot, but I've never heard of the term before.

Wow, is the battery the reason why your computers are all held up? I ordered mine on 6/12 and mine just shipped out yesterday (6/18).

This kind of retarded that Dell can't just change the order instead of canceling.

 

Well tomorrow I will be recieving ANOTHER delay email. That's funny, you'd think a company wouldn't delay an order MORE THAN (insert profanity here) ONCE. GJ DELL!

ESD: 6/13 ---> 6/20 ---> WHATS NEXT?

 

I knew dell wouldn't go without another delay. When will dell stop this insanity.

 

I just ordered one on Sunday. Today, it says Shipped, but the tracking information stated "Information Temporarily Unavailable", so I called up Dell XPS customer service. They were very helpful (and only about a 1 minute wait), and gave me my tracking number.

Should be here in four days! Excited!

 

My delayed ESD is tomorrow.......... Still in build... Ugh there is no way it's going to ship tomorrow I can just feel that it's not.

Received my notebook yesterday! Haven't noticed any problems yet (knock on wood).

Ordered: 6/9
Received: 6/18

I suppose I was lucky since I bought the 9-cell battery.

Also, it showed that it shipped 6/16, and I had the free Standard shipping, but it shipped in 2 days, not bad.

My heart did skip a beat once however. When I was trying out Crysis, I tried to Alt-Tab, and my screen started flickering wildly for a few seconds, then said my display driver crashed and recovered. I searched around a bit and it seems this was more of a problem in the past, wondering if I should try to update my 8600M drivers.

One other little kink with it is about every 15 minutes, there will be a small click coming from the left of the touch-pad. I can't tell what it is from just listening, though it seems like harddrive click or something.

Oh well, I love it!

 

oh sweet- Now im hearing the t9300 is delayed.

Edit: Via phone -however shouldnt matter... the way it was just explained was our stuff is together in a bin just waiting on the batteries that come in on the 20th.

And she upgraded shipping to overnight with zero hassle.

So call and complain and be calm and polite. Get free shipping.

HOWEVER new ESD is the 26th... a full week more.
