Fed Ex is best courrier in my opinion

 

Mine got ordered 12/7, then got stuck due to some credit card issues that couldn't get figured out over that weekend.
Now ESD: 12/27
EDD: 12/28

I have my doubts right now that that is going to happen coz my 'puter has been in production for 6 days now. (The FAQ's state that it usually takes 3-6 days to assemble a system.) A late Christmas present I guess... :-(

 

DHL...good grief I hate them. Here we go again with the BS. Here's my shipment info so far:

12/15/2007 12:09 pm Consignee premises closed. Will attempt again next business day. Memphis, TN
9:13 am With delivery courier. Memphis, TN
9:05 am Arrived at DHL facility. Memphis, TN
12/14/2007 7:38 am Arrived at DHL facility. Memphis, TN
12/13/2007 8:29 pm In transit. Memphis Regional Hub, TN
12:00 am Shipment Acknowledged Nashville, TN

As you can see, they left the facility with my package, and returned 3 hours later. This tells me that they didn't even attempt to come to my house, considering it's 90 miles away. It's like their trucks don't know how to leave their home city. I might have to drive to Memphis to pick it up Monday if I don't wanna wait a week for them.

I got the fastest delivery option available...don't remember what it was labeled as. All I know is it was supposed to be the best one. Either way, it looks like I'll have to wait until Monday. I'm actually fine with that as long as I actually get it on Monday. If I have the same troubles I had with them before, it will probably be about another 10 days.

 

Placed order on 12/10, this morning it sais it was shipped. wasnt supposed to ship till the 27th.

 

noskillz, how did you find out? On the website? Did you call? And when exactly did you find out?
(I am still wondering when they update the website. I heard about an 11 hour cycle but I don't know where that stands right now, meaning if that is like 10 am MST right now.)

 

so it takes about a week to produce these p0s...wow thats pretty good...i hope my p0s gets here sooner than the 31

my Estimated Delivery Date is 12/18/07.

 

my initial delivery date was Dec 31.

 

Urdypooh, i just click on the link thats in the e-amil you get confirming your purchase. Its sems to be the most up to date.I checked my order status this morning from the e-mail link and it said shipped but no carrier or tracking number. I check same info by logging in from the dell web site and it said "in production". Just now I log on to my account from the dell web site it just sais shipped but no other info. When i check status from the e-mail link it sais what carrier (DHL) and the tracking number(Link). It seems that i get more immediate info from the e-mail link


P.s. I have no skills so therefore cant spell.

 

mmm...that doesn't work. The order number and the purchase id show the tooltip but there is no URL behind it. :-(

I just decided to check my status before turning in, and it has been changed to "Shipped 12/16/07." Under Carrier and Tracking No., it says "Data Temporarily Unavailable." I got overnight, so I think it will actually go out tomorrow, as the EDD is 12/18/07.

I am shocked (pleasantly so, obviously). I ordered the evening of 12/13, and got an ESD of 12/28 (a Friday), with an EDD of 12/31 (no weekend delivery).

Best early Christmas present ever! Thanks, Dell!

I wonder if Santa is mad that Dell stole all his elves.
My thanks to Dell for hopfully getting this to me before Christmas.
Only time will tell now.

Did you order with a Credit Card or a Dell Preferred card?

Thats prob why - still doing authorizations? I got mine on a Dell Perfered card so it was authorized the same minute. But once yours gets into Production it shuold go very quickly!

 

First of all I'd like to thank everyone for some great threads, there is a wealth of knowledge on this site and ultimately it helped me choose my first laptop.

I ordered my m1530 on December 13 '07 and originally the ESD was on or around Jan 7 '08.

Last night (Dec 16) I logged on to find it in shipping prep with the ESD still at Jan 7 '08. Sometime in the early hours this morning it went from shipping prep to Shipped with an ESD of December 25 '07.

Only irritating thing is I don't yet have the tracking number, patients is not a virtue I have lol.

Does anyone know if it's possible for me to get it by Friday? Thats 5 business days.

 

How do you guys do that?
My laptop is stuck in the build phase since Monday last week.
I contacted Dell in a chat (again) last night and it seems none of the parts are on backorder. (Not even the BD drive ...which I guess most people don't have who have already received their M1530.)

 

Maybe they ship faster to dell perfered customers? Can anyone verify this?

 

maybe...but i doubt it...CC clears immediately and they get their cash rite there

 

A Led Rock, I'm in the same boat as you seeing we got it at the same time. I called that number provided by koo and it said mine was in the boxing stage. Don't know how long that'd take but ESD is still 12/28 for me.... Also paid by credit card, but my configuration was DECKED out.

A Led Rock, you said the phone said your status was preproduction, correct?

Did you put in your Dell Purchase ID or your actual order number?
When I was waiting for mine to come in, everytime i put the dell ID, i got preproduction. Yet, when I put in the actual order number of my laptop i got the boxing stage. So maybe try that?

I called Purolator and they are saying the delivery date would be 24 Dec It supposedly takes 5 business days in transit.

 

Odd...my ESD is 12/27 too (according to phone system and web site) but my system is still in the build stage. I wonder how they can make it if it needs to get shipped now to ship on 12/27.

 

Well, i was on here complaining last week about DHL and their delivery. It was scheduled to be here Friday, with a signature being required. I track the order, and it says they came by here at noon that day and no one was home. Well, my entire family was home that day, so that was an outright LIE. Well, guess what? It's now Monday, and still no XPSM1530. I've been given the runaround all day long now. I was told it was in transit and would be at my doorstep by 6 PM. Even though I knew this was complete BS, I decided to sit it out and see.

Well, about 6:15 I decided to give them a call and see what the hold up was. Their answer? I'm sorry sir, your package hasn't even left the warehouse today. WTF??? So I contact Dell since DHL is doing me no favors. Dell was actually kind enough to contact a DHL rep and call my house and get me a conference call with some lady. The DHL lady tried to get me to allow them to deliver it tomorrow (HA fat chance lady), but I adamantly refused and told her that I would be in Memphis tomorrow to pick it up, even though it's an hour and a half from where I live.

Dell seriously needs to stop using this fraudulent courier. They have the worst customer service I've ever seen and I will NEVER use them, and from here on out, any company that does. I'm almost to the point where I want to just send it back and get a refund...but not quite.

Yeah, DHL didn't require a signature for my laptop. My dad said he found it outside on our back porch. Good thing he saw it because we had a snow storm that night.

Good luck my friend. I hope you get better service than I did. I'm not even done yet. Like I said, I'm headed to the Memphis location to pick it up tomorrow, calling and making sure it's there before I leave of course. Sad thing is, from what I read that still might blow up in my face. It better be there or I might just blow a gasket.

 

Dell says it was shipped yesterday morning but there has still been no activity on the tracking number - I hope it gets here today lol.
