I got no activity too. Though its Purolator, not DHL.

 

Hrm....well...I think I read somthing about someone getting theirs even though there was no activity on the DHL tracking number. I will find out today!

 

[Canada] Recently ordered my self an XPS M1530.

Order Date: 12/11/07
Production Date: 12/13/2007

As of today 12/18/07, my order has still not left Production, and I contacted dell, to try and get the status of my order.

9:16:47 AM - Craig D - There is a 7-day lead time on your order. It will from there take 7-10 days business days for you to receive your order.
9:17:47 AM - Craig D - Lead time - Time before we start building your computer.

First time I have ever bought anything from dell, and wondering if this is typical ?

I see many other people getting their 1530's pretty fast, and it looks like mine won't be arriving any sooner then the Dec 31st Estimated Delivery Date

Dell generated the Tracking Numbers but has not sent the package to DHL. I called DHL and they said that they do not have the package in their possession. I will call up Dell and see if they plan on shipping these things in batches or what.

 

They usually wait until they fill up a truck to send them from the dock. Considering how small laptops are in comparison to semi trailers, it could take them a little while. I don't know what their daily production is like though.

 

but if u got next bus day shipping u should get priority...mine is supposed to be delivered today...it says left nashville and enroute to my house lol

 

I just got a call from my sister that my 1530 was just delivered to my Mom's house. Thank god my sis was there, though. The DHL guy delivered an ENVELOPE. That's it. An envelope. My mom would have just said thanks and let him go. My sister, on the other hand, said to him "Okay -- I know my sister said this laptop was considerably smaller than the one she has now, but I don't think it's THIS small," and sent him back down to his truck, where he found a SECOND package for me, this one containing my 1530. He said he hadn't even noticed that there were two packages in my delivery. (dur!) I guess the envelope probably contains the disk for the LoJack thingy?

Now I'm seriously considering feigning lunchtime food poisoning so I can get out of work early and go play with my new toy! (Just kidding.) Can't wait, though!

lol i hope i get it today...DHL sux majorly and i doubt they'll end up actually delivering it...trying not to get my hopes up lol

Has anyone got a call from Purolator before? I just got one saying that my laptop would be delivered to me tomorrow between 9 and 5 pm. The voice also said at the end.."Dell Purolator". The tracking number is still showing as in-transit. Not sure which I should believe now.

 

...i just called DHL...they said delivery tomorrow...lol dell's website said today...but W/E!!!

tomorrow is fine i guess...i am going to download drivers and stuff now so i can reformat right when i get it

 

I called Dell - they said that my notebook must be sitting in one of the shipping docks waiting to be picked up :/ Hurry up plz! I'm excited!

Oh well at least its on its way I'm excited. 100x more than when my HP was being shipped.

I returned my HP and they tried to make me keep it.They offered me $80 off the price. I told them give me $250 off and maybe I will keep it. haha. That was undoable - so I'm just shipping it back!

Rock, mine also said shipped as of today and has been checked into Nashville as of this morning at 12 am. Estimated Delivery is also tomorrow! I'll pray for the both of us

I'm in NJ, hoping to come back from school to find a nice package in my living room! I also ordered a 2GB stick of ram for 25$ that is supposed to be coming tomorrow too. Lets see how my luck is... :-D

 

Mine has said that for two days now Its still waiting to be picked up from DHL. SLackers.

Yup - my EDD is still 12/18/2007 on the Dell website - looks like someone forgot to put my notebook in the truck!

So after having been 10 days in the build stage mine is finally in the testing stage. ESD is still 12/27 though. :-(

Sucks for both of you guys (koo and Rock). We all pretty much ordered at the same time (I know Led was happy when I helped him with the discounts) and we're all probably going to be very satisfied tomorrow on the same day too! Mine was "shipped" as of today and just hope it doesn't get delayed like you guys.

 

My laptop arrived today around 1:30.
That was one day early with no problems with DHL.
I feel pretty lucky considering my original ship date was after Christmas.
Good luck to everyone else that's ordered them.

 

UPDATE

My 1530 is apparently in transit in the US. and as was stated before Canadians don't usually get a tracking number until its in Purolator's hands and they process it.

In the e-mail I got from Dell the person said that EDD is now DEC 24!!!

I'm so excited, GL to all of you waiting on yours.

unfortunately It has to get picked up first. once it leaves dell's dock then gets into the carriers hands it has priority. While it sitting, it's just like all the others. Wish it did get build priority, would be awesome.

 

lol mine went from nashville to ohio...the wrong direct completely...the tracking said so lol...y it would go there ihave no idea...but now i dont think it will get here today even tho DHL said it would yesterday...bastards...

I configured a new notebook that had better speces and was the same price as mine. I told them I was going to place a new order, etc...But then said it was too much of a hassle - that I would just like a $100 credit. The first guy said no, the second guy said yes...

Yeah it is worth a shot. It's hard to stay up to date with the latest deals, etc. I finally hit the sweet spot and am satisfied with my purchase!

 

Went and picked mine up at DHL yesterday, which was a 4 hour drive there and back. The PC a thing of beauty. I don't do digital cameras, so I can't take pics. It's a white one though, and I'm quite satisfied with the lappy, just not with DHL. I will never use them again...for those of you still waiting on your laptop, I wish you luck, and suggest you don't believe a thing DHL tells you if your package is late. They are liars. It's amazing really, I have no idea how they still get business.

 

Ya, I plan to do that today. Its saying that it on its way back to depot ( was not at home ). Though, the depot for me is only 15 mins away from my house

omg DHL blows...lojack got here today but i called and they said the laptop never got on the ****ing truck...so it'll be here tomorrow...so they say...

there was...its in my city...they just never put it on the truck for delivery,,,which is ridiculous...its next day shipping for god sake

It says it's some sort of employee program, which I don't belong to. I received my 1530 yesterday, but was planning on calling Dell tonight to get the $699 deal. Can I get this, as well, even though I don't belong to the EPP? And what is the 4% DPA discount? That didn't show up for me, even though I have a Dell Preferred Account.

I got mine today!! My friend was home when they delivered it. Yesterday, it was in Texas, shipped up to Ohio, and then shipped to me in NJ. I'm typing this up on it right now. Sorry for your horrible luck. Ordered 12/13, Delivered 12/19!! Thats 6 DAYS!!
