got a dhl tracking number friday but it has not moved from acknowledged.... should i expect it today or tommorow. (over night)

 

woot, my order is with the dhl courier (fat delivery truck driver)

It'll be here today, 4 days ahead of schedule!

Also, mojojoe, mine was on acknowledged all weekend, then shifted just after midnight this morning

I got my DHL tracking number Friday as well, but it's still at acknowledged. Hopefully it will change today or better yet, it will just show up here at the office.

mattocs, when did you get into the boxing stage and how long were you in boxing before it shipped?

 

30 fricking days is a long assed time to wait

 

I thought that the only major delay was in the batteries but it is quite clear that something else must be wrong as some of you fortunate people are receiving your laptops despite having ordered them after me.

Still in build stage and two days to go until I cancel my order due to it not being able to arrive before my departure date.

I think if you order through regular Sales promotion, the order got processed faster. I did EPP order with M1330 once and it took months to get it.

Actually I ordered over the phone in person. During my pre-order review I spoke with sales about ensuring I picked a unit that would be delivered prior to my trip. They advised me that it would be submitted quicker if I ordered over phone rather than online.

Makes me wonder if they knew anything about the battery problems back then on June 3rd and just chose not to share the info. Anybody know when the original problem occurred?

I doubted that a phone rep would know anything about any shortage in components. Same goes with online ordering. The delay might be how Dell prioritizes the orders. I think the Sales Promotion gets 1st priority.

 

WTH? Mine got shipped Friday and my DHL status still hasn't updated from "Shipping Acknowledged".

IT was supposed to be 2-day but I live in MD so its closer so it came one day!

It got delivered to my grandparents house, can't wait to get off of work to go get it

 

Shipped still, but no tracking number.

 

So apparently since my tracking status hasn't changed, Dell hasn't officially shipped it yet. So yet again, I had to call Dell and they are going to find out what's going on. If it hasn't shipped yet, I'm going to demand that it be here tomorrow first thing. This has gotten a little ridiculous.

I was in the building stage for almost a month. My tracking status says "Shipping Acknowledged" and the DHL rep told me that a label has been made, but it has not been picked up yet.

Like I said, if it has not shipped yet, I'm going to try my best to get Dell to ship overnight or something.

 

Well, after 36 days since ordering my 1530 just got here, and it is fantastic. I am thoroughly satisfied with this machine and it will definitely work for what I paid for it and what I will be doing with it.

The Samsung 1680x1050 screen on my machine is phenomenal and I don't know if either some folks are way too picky or I got a really good one but I love it and it is much clearer than my MacBook Pro's screen ever was.

The speakers are terrible though, I think my iPhone sounds better playing from the internal speaker

Best of luck to all whom are still waiting for their machines, hopefully no one here will have to wait as long as I did to receive it.

 

so i've been using my m1530 for almost a week now, runs great, still tweaking vista.
came with a .25cm gap (sounds little, but it's wide) on the right hinge, not sure if that's normal, seems like it isn't though. slight keyboard bulge, crap alps pad and the optiarc drive which runs well, but sounds like it's snapping the disc twice each load.
but other than that it's pretty sweet, samsung hdd and a 5.1 in vista (memory lowest) 1440x900 non-led is great (LG, it's bright too), i've seen the 1680x1050 and don't know if i could do that on a daily basis.

running crysis (low/some med), bioshock(med) and tf2(high/med) at native res and they handle pretty well.

I posted yesterday that mine was shipped because I got an email that said that. The tracking number shows "not found" in the DHL system. I called customer care for the 30th time and they said that maybe tonight I'll be able to track the shipment and since I have next day service I should get it tomorrow. RectorB is on the money about the 24-48 hour thing.

How on earth are they determining the order here?

As a side note, I've filed a complaint with the BBB and got a call from Dell. He didn't understand that my complaint wasn't with the shipping delay-- but the honesty of it all and the "waiting until the last moment to give delay notification". I had ordered laptops over a month ago and canceled because it was simply delayed too much.

 

I finally got a hold of a Dell rep and he promised me that DHL would pick my laptop up today, promising it would be here by Thursday. He also is going to give me a $50 credit on my laptop purchase for the hassle.

This has been the worst computer buying experience I've ever went through, hands down. I will never buy from Dell again unless it's a laptop from a retail store already pre-built.

 

I'm in Minnesota too, with free 2-day shipping. It says Estimated delivery: July 2nd, but mine was reported as being in Michigan as of last night so maybe it will get here tomorrow.

I hope I can convince my sister to stay at my place that day and camp out for my package

 

Mine just got depatched... Do they give you an accurate time for delivery or is it one of those "anytime between 9 and 5"?

 

Interesting, just as all the others on here whose orders got shipped on 6/29/08 ,with next day or overnight shipping their orders are set to arrive on 7/1/08. I have standard 3-5 day shipping yet mine is also set to arrive on 7/1/08. I sure hope mine shows up then!

 

Just got a call from another Dell rep, saying that my laptop has been picked up from DHL. She also told me to check the status tomorrow morning to see any progress. Hopefully, I'll see mine tomorrow.

At first I was kinda freaked about this since I'm leaving town on the 8th, but thankfully the Dell rep let me change my shipping location so I could get it at the other house where I'll be staying at. Nice! Gotta hand it to the reps I've been talking with - they've been nothing but nice about this whole thing.

 

OMG! shipped on 6/30! no tracking/carrier yet tho.

does this mean its shipping from china? or is it already in the US?

looks like my belkin bag i bought with my laptop has shipped as well and has a dhl tracking. do they ship the bag seperately with the laptop?

 

I ordered with 9-cell battery on 6/22. The order didn't get delayed. EDD was 7/10. Now the EDD is 7/2. DHL posted a tracking number on 6/29.

 

Got my tracking number on 6/30 (today), and the shipment is acknowledged.

Ugghh...wish I woulda haggled a CSR for free next day shipping. I gotta wait 3-5 days (or weeks in "waiting for laptop" time). I'm in Cali and my laptop was just acknowledged in Nevada...

 

For free next day shipping, the key is to call customer care and complain about the delay in getting the system built and shipped. I called about 2 to 3weeks after my order was placed and asked what kind of compensation they would be giving me because of the rediculous delay. I got free shipping then. After I got the delay notice, I called and got the $50 credit.

 

Why are people ordering 4gb of ram? Did you also upgrade Vista because the one you get is only 32-bit. Unless Im mistaken, the Vista I'm getting is 32bit

 

The reason I got the 4 gig was so I could have duel channel ram capability and be ready for 64 bit when I upgrade to it, I'd rather have the two sticks of 2 instead of the 1 and 2 as I have in an hp now.

 

Or just have 2 business day included in your summer savings deal

I got 4GB for the same reason cbxps2008 did pretty much - to be prepared for 64-bit.

Lucky! One of the reps I talked to did say it could ship before the 7th, but we'll see how that goes. It'd be nice but I'm not holding my breath.
