***XPS M1530 Order Status Thread***

Two full days in Boxing now....beginning to think I won't get it before the long holiday weekend Unless it ships this afternoon and they quickly get it to me before thursday (A guy can hope, can't he?)

 

i havnt been on here in awhile.. but i finally got mine like beginning of june haha its awesome!

 

I got a call from my Dell rep today saying that my XPS is in "the final stages of production" and will ship in 2-4 business days. I called up the automated order line and sure enough, it's in boxing! So close!

The whole using DHL thing makes me nervous though as I've heard way too many horror stories with them and I've had my own complications with them as well. I wish Dell would give the option of using other carriers like FedEx and UPS since they've been way more reliable (for me anyway) than DHL has.

 

Dell is trying to mock me...

anyone know if dhl delivers on july 4th?

 

I don't think they deliever on the holiday.


But I got my second replacement today. As far as I can tell, it is perfect. No more dents, screen seems better, no keyboard hump. Yay!

 

I ordered on the 23rd and am in Boxing since yesterday morning. I would appreciate if anyone that is currently in boxing at this time post here when your order is shipped that way I an gauge the progress of my order.

 

My order took about 3 days of boxing, if that helps.

 

I finally received my xps1530 today. Everything looks good on it. The only thing I noticed is that when it boots up there is a blue light that flashes like three times just under the web cam. I am hoping it is just a fluke and will go away. It doesn't seem to be causing any problems.

The LED screen looks really nice. I had the WUXGA screen before and it was really sharp. I think this screen might be a better resolution for the 15" monitor though. It is definitely brighter.

I just got finished reinstalling vista and its strange, but my 32 bit vista recognizes all 4GB of ram. Whether or not it uses it is a different story.

 

So if it went into Boxing yesterday morning it will be shipped Thursday morning?

 

That's just the webcam light flashing. It does that when the drivers are loaded for it.

Edit: Vista with SP1 does recognize 4GB but it will not address or use it.

 

I emailed my sales rep earlier and she replied about an hour later about my order. She said that the batteries have been very unpredictable and tend to show up whenever. Only thing that she could really do was change my shipping to Next Business Day at no charge.

 

Mine was delivered this morning FINALLY=D

I love it, no problems so far at all, knock on wood. The only thing that's iffy is the speakers (I mostly use the headphones anyways, which by the way are spectacular) and something makes a mechanical scracy sound every once and a while. I definately prefer this way over my Dell Dimension desktop. It plays games like a beast, and surfs internet as fast as my connection allows. I have yet to use photoshop and such with it. <3 m1530.

Mine came in this afternoon. Everything is perfect!!! I freshly installed Vista Ultimate 64 and everything works perfectly as my M1330 with Vista 64.

 

ooo mine should come today! I'm glad wimbledon is on to keep me busy.... Go Murray!

It's In Plymouth, Minnesota!!! Finally!!!

 

Got mine yesterday the only problem I noticed was the bottom cover was not fully secured as in one side was actually stuck out and all the screws where in good. Looks like assembly was in a hurry although it is an easy fix it makes me wonder about quality control lol. Everything seems fine but I've not had much time to play with it yet.

 

got mine yesterday....it's awesome....the only thing that bothers me at times is when i can hear the scratching of the hard drive. Does this bother anyone else?

 

MmCark, I can hear Disc ejecting sound during the powering up. It does not bother me but hopeful Dell will release another BIOS. It seems the the cursor freeze when you insert the disc or press eject. Dell fixed this issue on M1330 and hopeful the fix will come soon for M1530.

 

I just received an email from customer service saying that my ESD is 7/9, but this is not reflected on my order status page. Hmmmm....

 

Yeah, I am in the 3rd day of Boxing also. I wanted to get it tomorrow but will be impossible now. Please let me know if your status changes to Shipped today sometime.

 

Mine has been in transit in the US for the past week now. Plus its going to take a while to get past customs into Canada. Plus this week there are Canadian and US holidays which will show down my shipment even more. I was scheduled to get my XPS 1530 on the 27th of June

 

Mine is still in the build stage despite having ordered it back on June 3rd. I still am unable to work out how some people have received their orders before me despite having placed the order after me.

I haven't seen anything about any of the components on my system being delayed except for the battery and as I understand it they are now available.

I don't think that Dell have been dealing with their orders on a first come first serve basis and if that were to be true, I would find that incredulous.

 

sigh im still waiting on purolater to get it to me, it shipped on the 28, and EDD was today

 

So I got free 2 business day shipping, and my order was picked up by DHL from DELL on Friday. It arrived in Minneapolis on Monday night. You would think the simpletons could make the 1 hour drive to my house in 2 full days, but so far apparently not. Takes a whole week of shipping to get here....I guess it's only fitting that such poor CS at Dell is supplemented by a joke of a courier like DHL.

 

its with delivery courier at 7:27 this morning. now is 1:39 still nothing.

 

Did you get yours yet? We have similar shipping and delivery dates. Mine is apparently still by the US/Canadian boarder. LOL, did they find drugs in my XPS or something?
Hopefully' I'll get my 1530 by tomorrow or Friday. I'll be pretty upset if I have to wait until next Monday to pick it up.

 

My laptop arrived yesterday at 3:08 p.m. I love it! I must say also I am extremely pleased with both Dell and DHL. Dell got mine made and shipped in just over a week, and for those who are telling horror stories about DHL, I must say I can't agree. DHL's service for me was excellent, I ordered regular 3-5 day shipping but they got my computer delivered to me overnight. Along the way they also updated their tracking info for me all along the journey of my delivery. Again, very pleased with both Dell and DHL.

 

Same here, I've been sitting on my butt all day watching TV, because it shouldn't take that long for it to be delivered here. I'm just worried that if I go outside and do something, or take a shower, I'm going to miss it. Mine was on the delivery courier at 7:29 this morning... urgh.

 

Also, most shipping companies will ship but NOT deliver on the weekend, they only deliver on business days.

2:55 now and still not here yet. looks like my belkin messenger bag i bought with the system wont be coming together with it.

 

Looks like my unit is still being boxed today (third day).

 

Yesterday was Canada day so I'm expecting my laptop tomorrow

 

Me too....I was hoping to have it before the 4th since I took monday off and am having it delivered to work....now it will probably be delivered on Monday then I will have to wait until Tuesday to get it! But being since it hasn't even shipped yet and I have 3-5 day delivery it will probably be Tuesday before it is delivered.

 

I live in Northern MN and DHL doesn't even deliver to rural areas so they usually turn it over to the US postal service which is even worse at getting deliveries correct, so I had it delivered to my work since DHL delivers here all the time.

 

Anybody who reads this who has received their m1530, would you mind measuring the box that it arrived in please?

I need the dimensions to calculate how much it will cost to ship to where I will be staying, seeing as Dell have managed to not ship it to me in time for my departure to Europe.

Any assistance would be gratefully received.

 

My order has been delayed

They have found a new way of handling irate customers - "The system is down. Call back after 3 hours". I have been getting the same message for the last 6 hours.

This way they don't have to handle angry customers through till the weekend.

 

I don't think my package has moved from Minneapolis in 3 days...Blah. Like you guys said, I'm afraid to take my dog for a walk, shower, etc since I might miss the delivery. I just want this to be over with...

 

The dimensions are 16 1/2 x 14 x 8 1/4.

 

I got an automated message from Purolator courtesy of Dell saying that my Laptop will be arriving at my house between 9am-5pm tomorrow.

Can't wait!

Congratulations!! And thanks for posting, I went into Boxing Monday morning also but am still in boxing as of 10 minutes ago. I did see you ordered yours before mine. I am crossing my fingers it ships out today. I placed the order with my debit card and need the money out of the bank before I get drunk this weekend and spend it. Anyone else that was in Boxing since Monday, June 30 shipped?

Yeah, same here. After I received my second delay notice I decided to call and see if I could get my shipping upgraded. I called the first time at about 3 PM EST, and was told that the system is down and to call back in 3 hours. I called back at 6 PM EST, and was told the same thing. I suspect when I call back at 9 they may not bother to even answer the phone.

Too bad you can't just walk into a store and buy a laptop already made to your specifications.

 

whenever i visit the site to check my status on purolater it says call the number, and when i call the number it says my number doesnt exist

got my laptop around 2 hours ago. so far its perfect, no defects on the laptop itself. not sure what my LCD is, and i think my slot load drive is optiarc.

 

Well the performance is fine, good display, fast, no problem there but I do have a bump on the keyboard between F5 and F12 and the next two rows forward. I have already emailed Dell. I'll post when I get an answer.
