If your tracking number has letters at the beginning, you have to press "0" in the options menu when you call. You'll then talk to a live Purolator rep that will give you info on your laptop.

What are the odds? I live in a city of about 25,000 an hour west of Minneapolis, and DHL officially stopped servicing our area on Monday! Which means they have to transfer my package to USPS in order for it to be delivered. I talked to 3 different DHL reps today and each one told me that the package is still with DHL in Minneapolis.

Then I went outside to check the mail and there was a notice from USPS saying that they missed me and the package can be picked up at the post office IN MY TOWN. Apparently no one at DHL is actually capable of knowing where their own packages are...as the saying goes "they couldn't find their ass with both hands and an ass map!"

The good news: I should have my XPS by about 9 am tomorrow!

I'm seriously going to shoot someone at dell. Their information sucks!! The automated system says my order has been in boxing for 3 days. I called 3 days ago and someone said my order was being shipped from X country to the US. I call today and someone tells me its still in the testing stage... I've had my order expedited and everything, still not going to ship before the ESD.

Yessss!!! My M1530 has just shipped. I checked online 5 minutes ago and the status is now shipped. It does not have tracking info but that is fine as long as it has shipped. I should get it early next week. For those of you waiting, I was in boxing since Monday morning so 3 1/4 full days in Boxing for me.

No, because tons of laptops still have 8 series cards in them, and Dell is required to replace it if it causes a problem. Your warranty covers manufacturer defects.

Plus, I haven't heard of too many (or any, really) serious problems with the 1530, just the 1330.

Could Dell replace the 8600M GT with the 9600M GT on new M1530 units, or is it more likely that Dell is holding off on the 9 series for the M1530's replacement which might be released this summer ? I know any GPU failure is covered by the warranty, but it's a pain when it happens (I know). Some people with the 8600M GT have complained about failures or display issues, maybe not with the M1530, but other notebook brands using the 8600M GT.

Wow, seems like Dell finally got on the ball with their systems. Took 5 weeks for my original system, one week for the first replacement, and two weeks for my second replacement. If only the first one could have been quick.

first one had a 1680x1050 screen. Loved the resolution, but it had some bad backlight bleed on the bottom. I was able to get a LED screen upgrade for free, and then on my second one, it had dents on the palm rest. I offered to have them send me a palm rest, but they wanted a tech to do it, so I told them no deal, and told them I was going to be sent a new system.

This one so far is perfect. Good screen, no dents, no keyboard bulge. I like it alot.

Nice, I have hod nothing but good experiences with Dell. I ordered an XPS desktop from them around 2 years ago and received it within 2 weeks and it has always worked flawlessly. Maybe I will have the same luck with the M1530

So I checked the Order Status page, and mine's shipped! Yeah! The shipment's been "acknowledged" in Tennessee and it's getting shipped to Virginia so not that far to go!

So far Dell's been really wonderful with everything, especially my whole shipping location hiccup. Big, big props to them. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping DHL will be good, though. Last time I used them they kept forgetting my package in their truck or something - it kept going out for delivery and getting returned to the local center. They'd be more careful with a laptop, right? ...Right? :p

Yeah, i've had several Dell desktops...all came perfect, and quick.

There are a ton of issues that COULD be wrong the XPS notebooks...but I am sure a majority don't have them, and they have seemed to have fixed a lot of them

    Good luck.

The monitor is clear, the finger-print scanner takes time to get use to... the harddrive gets a little hot, but It's okay.

Does anybody else have the issue of it dragging for about a minute or so after boot up, nothing horrible but it seems after windows pops up and all it acts as if it takes a little too long for the touch pad icons to load up and it seems a little glitchy until the icon loads and ie seems a little buggy until I hear the hdd idle down from boot up. It shouldn't be taking that much time to load up though, time from off to up is around 55 seconds thats with sidebar and all then 30 more seconds for extra icons and hdd to idle down. I'm thinking about removing sp1 or maybe doing the clean install I found in the forums what do you guys think. I know my hp behaves funny with sp1 similar to being slow at startup but I don't know.

there's a thread goin on this topic ...here's the link

If the 8600m GT are defective, I believe Dell is required to repair them outside of the warranty (if you bought the computer before the official nVidia announcement was made). Otherwise we could all get together and have a nice class action lawsuit lol.
