***XPS M1530 Order Status Thread***

Yeah man, I'm not normally one to try to talk a lot of smack about stuff, but DHL is awful...I cannot stress this enough. It's so bad that it has been the main subject of about my last 5 posts.

 

Dell and DHL = Hell.

So I'm not getting my system anymore. They "lost" it. WTF? I now have a new 1530 in production that will be "heavyly upgrade" and a $200 credit + $100. So no Christmas present for me - but Dell def took care of their mess up.

 

Really sorry to hear. I'm sure in the long run you'll be happy that they actually lost the laptop

I ordered mine 12/16 and the
est. EDD was 1/2- 1/7.
Today it already reached DHL AND I have the tracking number, I love Dell and DHL it's being shipped express free?
EDD is 12/21 it only took 5 days!

Mine beat omegadragon's record shipment of 6 days, ha!

I had DHL before for my Ipod they were great that time also with their shipping, I believe they are the only one's that ship on weekends, no?

 

Did Dell loose it or did the carrier lose it? That's pretty careless if it got lost by Dell. At any rate, glad they're taking care of it for you.

It blows when you have careless delivery companies loosing your stuff.

 

Wow, congrats man... makes me hopeful that I will get mine by Monday. I hope so but as of the 16th it has been in transit from the US.

I'm so jealous of everyone thats getting theirs. But I'm happy for you all none the less!

I'm not sure about that, when I was checking my status my laptop shipped on a friday but there was no activity in the tracking page until monday. [aside from it being at the carriers, it never changed] It was delivered that Wed. [3-5 day shipping] Putting A + A together, I dont think they ship on the weekends. Correct me if I'm wrong.

 

Well Dell is saying that they issued a tracking number and it should have been shipped. DHL is saying that Dell issued a tracking number but never scheduled a "pickup" date (which is complete BS).

Dell has no clue where the notebook is - neither does DHL

 

LOL! Yeah DHL is probably just stealing notebooks left and right. When I was talking to the DHL lady on the phone .... when she found out that the package was coming from Dell she let out a big sigh...I'm thinking that there is some issues going on between the two.

 

If you work and see lot of Dell computers in your office, your company is likely to have Employee Purchase Program with Dell. Ask your Office Administrator or IT Purchase Officer/Manager about it. I ordered my 1530 on December 15th. I just got notification that it shipped yesterday. It has a new EDD of December 27th

 

Add me to the DHL fun. Supposed to be delivered today, 6:00 and nothing. Not a big deal really, not like I need the laptop now. But if they promise overnight delivery, you should get over night delivery.

Not going to make calls tonight, but the funny thing is the tracking shows it going from dell, to Ohio to nebraska (where I am located) now going back to Ohio. So I might get lucky and they will send it back to nebraska before they send it someplace in Alaska.

 

The EPP Deal now has dropped price by $100 and the hard drives now come with a free fall sensor. The catch is the Next Business Day Delivery now costs $19. My contacts told me that the Free Next Business Day Delivery was a glitch and the order will anyways be shipped via 3-5 Day delivery.

Cancel and reorder and save $100 now.

 

I ordered mine on The 16th the ship date was on the 2nd. The ship day has now been moved to today and said to arrive tommorow.

mmmm, my screen brightness is really bad. After reading your post I'm convinced that there is something wrong with mine.

 

Received mine 5 days after ordering. Not bad at all. I just hope there won't be any issues with it. I've heard some horror stories regarding the M1330s.

I ordered mine Tuesday and it shipped 12/21... its next business day delivery so I'm hoping I get it on 12/24. It says the 27 is the estimated day.

 

Same here, C0llister. I just chatted with the CSR though and he gave me the tracking number, the carrier and said that it would most likely be delivered on 12/24. The dell order status website though still states an ESD of 12/26 - 12/28. I am hoping for 12/24....even if I have to pick it up on Monday myself.

 

I haven't gotten a tracking # even thought it says shipped. I thought customer service was closed?

From personal experience DHL sucks, they got me mad twice in two times that have been used to send me something. that's 100 % failure..
Just goggle DHL worst or DHL complaint..


after first round with Dell. On the phone they said it usually take 5-10 days to build a laptop. It depends on your selections. The people who ordered the new LCDs will take 10 days to build. You will always get your laptop earlier than the initial ESD or EDD… my first one ordered on Sunday night dec 9th . it was at my place on the 19th ..

when I ordered the next one on the 20th, there was 3-5 days free shipping and also next business day free shipping 69$ free... I thought that was weird. I selected the next business day. I hope that mean a different carrier than DHL…

 

dvmxps1530, no. It is still DHL. I have next business day delivery and it will be delivered by DHL.
It was shipped on Friday and I hope to get it next business day which would be Monday but...I don't think that is going to happen. The tracking number doesn't even show up on the DHL website yet. :-(

w00t! Just checked up on mine.

It was marked shipped this morning, and it finally has a tracking number. Claims it's in Sparks, NV. It's got next day shipping. I don't know how DHL works, but Dell claims that it'll arrive on the 27th. I'm a stone's throw away from Nevada so I've got my finger's crossed that I can put my lappy under the tree (although feel free to tell me how insane this fantasy is).

Zahn1138, keep hoping. Mine says the same but I called the DHL automated system and it tells me that the scheduled delivery date is Wednesday 12/26 :-(

 

I ordered mine on 12/22/2007 (Yesterday) and its still at Acknowledged stage. I called CS today and she told me wait up to 2 more days before I call and bother them.

Finally my M1530 is confirmed and is in productioin.

 

I purchased with a EPP but didn't get the gift card discount. Either way, I'm pretty happy with the price. I had initially ordered my unit on the first day of release but cancelled. I reordered and was able to upgrade a few things and still save money. Can't wait until it's delivered. I have an ESD of 01/11/08.

 

Atleast Dhl will deliver on 12/26, Purolator doesn't.

But on a better note... Mine is "On Vehicle for Delivery" woo hoo.

Chatted with CS at Dell and changed the shipping to Next Business Day. It went smooth. I guess they do work on christmas day.

 

I suppose Im pretty lucky... I did recieve mine on Dec 24... I love it.

How did people get their order shipped in less than 2 weeks from the order date? Is it because you ordered the 1280x800 screen?

Funny thing is that I paid with Dell Preferred Account and the card has NOT been charged yet as of today. Damn, is my order going through or not?

 

I placed my order on Dec. 21st. The original EDD was January 14th, however I just got an email stating that my order was shipped today (December 26th). I'm pretty surprised by how quick my order was completed considering it is the holidays.

BTW, I ordered the WXGA+

wtf ordered mine on 20th... had someone call me on the 23 to tell me my order is expedited. Chatted with dell on the 26th told me its still in production.. DELL feeds me so much BS.

 

I talked to a Dell representative over the phone recently, and they do not charge the card until the laptop is shipped. Makes sense, to be honest.

 

Wow, so I ordered my system on 12/21/07 and was given an Estimated ship date of 01/11/08. Well, I did not check my email yesterday so it was a big surprise to see this in my email today...

"We are happy to inform you that your order shipped on 12/26/2007."

So I should be receiving my system soon. I can't wait!!! BTW, it was with the WXGA+ screen.

I live in TEXAS why would they send my notebook from Nashville north to Ohio before shipping it south to Texas?
I also had next day shipping and WTF if it was picked up on Monday how come I haven't received it yet?

 

I ordered on 12/23 and was also given an estimated ship date of 01/11/08. I also have the WXGA+. I was thinking that the factory closed on Sunday (12/23) and Tuesday (12/25), but if this is true, that means YOUR laptop production time only took 2 days??

Not that I am complaining, but if it's true I'll be happy myself.
