***XPS M1530 Order Status Thread***

I ordered my system 07/26. I called and talked to CSR and he said my system is in transit from Malaysia to USA, and that when it arrives, it should be done with boxing and i will receive my system within one day after it has been shipped.

 

Okay, just called the order status line, and it says my system has now been shipped. I also checked online and it changed my shipping and delivery dates back to my original dates.

 

Congrats Mandtid93! Does this mean you should get your laptop today?

I'm still in the boxing stage. I just called and the CSR said its on its way to the U.S. and she would put an expedite request on it (not that it will make any difference at this point). I just really hope it ships today so that I can at least have it tomorrow.

 

The order line says it has been shipped and my status online changed back to 1 day after it's orginal shipping and delivery date. I don't see a track number online though. I don't know what to think right now. I hope i get it tomorrow because it shows 1 business day shipment online.

 

I called and talked to a representative about my xps today. He said it was in production, but when he looked at the details he found out a part was missing. The build team recieved every part they needed except for one thing, the motherboard! How do you forget a part like that?! The rep said he doesn't know why the motherboard wasn't delivered to the team with everything else. They are going to call next week and update me on the statues. I AM TICKED!!!!

They could only have your hdd and would be able to build your system in a couple of hours, when they recieve all the parts on your system, during the last days before shipping. if im not mistaken, you ordered at the beginning of this month, so your system is still on pace.

I got my tracking number, but it hasnt been updated in DHL's system, yet. Im just glad it has shipped because this has been the longest 3 weeks of my life

 

Just a heads up, if you guys don't receive all the accessories (earphones, mouse, cloth, etc.), you can ring up Dell and try to get a few things from them. Either have them ship the accessories to you, try to get a gift card, or replace the accessories with something else. I did the last one and chose a Sony noise-canceling headphone from their accessories page.

 

Hey guys, I ordered my laptop on the 8th and after a few credit card issues it was in the kitting stage on the 11th. To my surprise the next day it was already in boxing. (My canceled order had lasted two weeks in the build stage). I hope the automated hot line is correct, cause I don't want to get my hopes up for nothing, so I emailed my CSR to confirm the status. I'll let you know what he/she tells me. I think Nalini is a girl name?

 

BTW she already upgraded me to free next day shipping after I had some account issues. And she emailed me again of her own accord after that to tell me she put in a special request to expedite the order and shes personally tracking my order. She saying all the right things and I really think shes following through on them. :-D

 

Great news guys! My laptop is Las Vegas, Nv. Good chance i will be getting it tomorrow.

Dell CSR has been very patient with me throughout this entire process.

I will contiue to stick around and help anybody wih questions, when i recieve my lappy.

I think yours went into boxing a day before mine, so hopefully that means mine will ship tomorrow.

 

My Dell m1530 xps is delayed 2 weeks because they are out of 6-cell batteries. Has anyone else ordered one with a 6-cell?

bmerk, when did you purchase you lappy? anything could happen. my order got delayed 7 days and it shipped with only 1 days delay.

 

Hi Mandid. I ordered on 8/1. Got delay email on 8/13. ESD was changed from 8/13 to 8/27. I just called the number a minute ago. Now it says that it's in production and IN THE KITTING STAGE. What does that mean? It never said kitting stage before.

 

Kitting Stage is when they gather all the components of your laptop. Check out this thread for all the stages: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=156489

 

Kitting is when they gather up all your parts and get it ready for build.

After they have all the parts(if any hasnt been delayed), you will then go to the build stage (Mine started on the build stage right after i made my purchase online). When it goes into the build stage, it will take atleast 2-3 days(it can also go from build back to kitting and and so on....)

After, you will go to tesing. That will last about 2-2 1/2 days.

Next up would be boxing. For me, that took about another 3 1/2 days (they fly your laptop from malaysia, so be patient)

You might (i idid) get a delay email on your ESD. I got one for7 days, which changed to 1 the very next day, and now it has shipped and will be arriving tomorrow, if im lucky.

you will know if everything is all good when they change your stages. That means theyre working on it, which is a good thing.

 

I don't get it. Everytime that I called previously, it said it was in production. When I spoke to someone in customer service, they said it was just waiting on the 6-cell battery which was out of stock. If it's in the kitting stage, that sounds like it is starting at square one.

 

Hmmm. Maybe they got the 6-cell battery in and now they are putting it together. I hope so.

The order status site keeps saying it is temporarily unavailable. Is anyone else having the trouble?

I called the order status number and my order has finally shipped! It shipped today, which means I might not get it until Monday unless Dell will change it to a Saturday delivery or I can go pick it up from the hub once it reaches Chicago.

How long does it take to get a tracking number once your status is 'shipped'? The recording says that a tracking number will be available once it reaches the carrier.

Oh ****, I forgot today was Friday. Dell site says it'll arrive on Monday. Oh well still way ahead than a 9/5 EDD.

 

Today my order changed from the kitting to the boxing stage. Maybe it will ship early next week but I won't hold my breathe.

 

My laptop went from kitting to boxing right away too. That was on the 12th and three days later (today) it shipped. I'm also happy to say I don't have to deal with DHL. Fed Ex all the way!

 

My Delivery date is today. I don't know why the person at DHL and Dell CSR said i was going to receive it on Monday, when i had next day shipping.

Now i got the Delivery date confused. Doesn't that mean it should be delivered to my house today?

Yes, i have a tracking number. I was given one yesterday. DHL shows they have acknowledge my package since 12:00am yesterday. I don't see how long it would take since Sparks, nv is only 8 hours away from where i live and i have 1 business shipping.

 

DHL has had my package since 12:00 am this morning. I just called DHL and it is scheduled for delivery Tuesday, NOT Monday, which would be the next business day. DHL says that Dell chose ground shipping for the package and I need to contact them about the error.

Dell just told me the request for overnight shipping was in, but it went out ground. She had no idea why, and said that they can't do anything about it as it has already shipped. AARGH!

 

Wish i could have had it today, but i guess Monday is alright.

Nice, so it only took you a week to get it shipped? I wonder if that will be the case for me..I just ordered it last night. I hope that will be the case. You ordered from that special they were doing right, with the 8% off and the EPP 5% off? My system is similar to yours, cept T8300 and no TV Tuner. Did you order the 9 cell battery or 6 cell? I got the 9 cell, I hope that doesn't delay the order by that much. Estimated ship date is in the middle of September, but I hope it doesn't take that long. Need it by next week, first day of classes, but I'll really be needing it after labor day.

 

Yea I saw the thread on Slickdeals and canceled my previous order and reordered. I got 12% off because my set up was over $1600. I used the EPP Code for 5% too. I added the tv tuner because the 5% off coupon took the price under $1600 and made the regular discount 8% versus 12% so I figured I might as well get a tv tuner for 30 bucks more or so.

My original ESD was for the first week of September but after resolving some credit card issues. It went from 'testing' to 'boxing' overnight! And Yes I got the 9-cell battery. It didn't say that it would delay my order like it did when I first ordered back in July, although the LED Display still said it would delay my order. Must have gotten a canceled order (maybe even my own canceled order. lol)

Did you guys order with a customer service rep or did you just customize it on the website and order it there? I didn't use the customer service rep, and I feel like I should have to try to get it quicker, and possibly more discounts.

 

I ordered online, but had to email a rep when my new order wasn't showing up in my account. She fixed it so I can see my order when logged in and upgraded me to next business day shipping for the inconvenience.

EDIT: She said she put in a special request to expedite the order and was personally tracking my order too. Not sure how much of an affect this had, but I appreciated the effort. If I don't get all my freebies I'll be emailing her so see what she can do. She seems nice enough to help me out.

 

But most of the time is usually spent in the production stage. Yours went through really quickly without delay. I hope that's the case with my notebook.

 

Did U get that $70 gift card for extending your warranty? Did that include lock jack protection? If so, how many years of lock jack?

 

I suppose I'm lucky then... DHL told me that my computer is supposed to get here before 3PM on Monday! "Barring any unforeseeable delays," though. I'm not TOO worried, but you never know.

 

Yea I got $70 GC for going with 4 years. The options when you configure is between 1,2,3,or 4 years or warranty and when you go to the next component you can choose between 1,2,3, or 4 years of accidental damage protection and lojack (they're bundled together).

 

ARRGH! My Lappy is going to pass by my house today (freeway), but it won't get delivered until Monday. Stupid DHL and their "no weekend delivery."

 

Chase them down & do a hold-up.

 

I know this is few days late(internet has been down)but thanks for the advice mantid. I still don't understand the motherboard missing, but your right I still have a little less than two weeks to go. I was just kinda of mad that day so I typed my anger out! I hope that Leo(the CSR I talked to)will say my xps has all its parts when he calls Wednesday. I'll let ya'll know what he says.

Mine is in the building stage- placed the order on the 14th. the ESD is the 29th, but that seems like a long time to build.

 

What parts did you order for your M1530? My estimated ship date is September 11, and I ordered it on August 15th.

 

Mines The base model with a few upgrades: T8100, 8600m gt, 250gb HDD.

 

My XPS is currently "With delivery courier." Please let there be no problems with DHL today...
