***XPS M1530 Order Status Thread***

Just called DHL to let them know that nobody will be at my home today, and if i can go pick it up. Lady said they need to make a delivery attempt first. ARRGH! That's dumb. I would save them some gas, and trouble...

I'm so anxious to leave work. My brother might be home, and he said he's going to open my package when i told him not too (I think he's just messing with me).

I hate DHL! I called and told them nobody will be home to sign for my package and to not deliver it. We'll they did it anyways, and the guy delivering my Laptop won't be back until after they're closed, and now i won't be able to pick it up today.

 

My computer shipped today! It's on the way to the carrier. Yippee! Yahoo! *Backflip*

 

I have at least one dead pixel, and I think I have some slight keyboard bulge, but otherwise this is a significant step up from my old laptop - I can't complain much. I'm in the process of undervolting now, hopefully when this is all over, my laptop will run like a charm.

 

What's undervolting?

i ordered mine on aug 12, and its still in build stage. worst of all my shipment isnt gonna be until september 8 . do u guys think it'll get delayed, since its been in build stage for like, 6 days?

 

Build stage for 6 days? Mine was in the build stage for 2 weeks.

 

o. yea, im just worried cuz the online thing @ dell says that it typically takes 3-6 days to finish the "in production" stage

 

Give it 3 weeks. When i pick mine up tomorrow. It would be about 23-24 days from order to recieved.

 

Mine is supposed to take around 20 days to get here from my order date.

 

I got mine today!! Everything seems to be fine--no dead pixels, no keyboard bulge. Media control buttons work. I love it! Now I just have to get it back from my boyfriend, lol, who grabbed it as soon as I went to the old desktop to get files ready to transfer.

 

Maybe you should put your boyfriend in a headlock and PUMMEL, PUMMEL, PUMMEL!!! That's your new toy!

I couldn't search all 101 pages of this thread for my question. So, here it is.
I was told the other night that I was getting a new replacement computer. (This is my second replacement. Urghhh) However, all I have from tech support is a dispatch number and a case number. I don't remember this process when I got my first replacement.

Has anyone had any experience with this situation?

Whats the normal time for the build stage? I ordered mine on the 14th...

 

It looks like I'm going to get my laptop on time. My original estimated delivery date is 8/18 - 8/20. They shipped it on 8/18 via DHL 2nd day. I'm supposed to get it Wednsday. Dell is on time for a change.

 

Lol, I didnt quite do a happy dance but I did have a big grin on my face as I took it upstairs to unpackage. Only thing is I didn't get any freebies but the remote.

 

I will be driving over to DHL facility today, and will be picking up my Lappy!

I didn't get any freebies, but everything is running great.

 

Yipee! Just called Dell up about not getting the case and free ear bud and the lady gave me a free $100 gift card.

Same exact shipping and delivery date here. I ordered on the 7th.

The Dell CSR said those items are not workth $50 and she gave me $100. LOL!

 

Nice job on the $100. I got my rep to send me a sleeve (targus) earbuds, cd case, and shes 'crediting my account with $25". Dunno if that means GC or credit card refund.

 

Quick question, does it say building/boxing stage on the order status or did you ask the csr what stage it was at? Because mine says In Production, and apparently there is only Pending, In Production, and Shipped stages, no building/testing/boxing stages.

 

when you call 1-866 827 3413, you enter your info and it will tell you. For instance, it may say, "your system is in production and is in the build stage." The website doesn't tell you that.

 

man i can NOT wait for my 1530, ordered on the 12th, next day was in build stage, 4 days later boxing stage, ESD is 27th, EDD is 9/1-3, hopefully itll be here by this saturday!!! *crosses fingers*

 

It's strange because the initial ship date is almost a month, making the delivery date about a month long. Should I expect it to go down or just believe that it's gonna be about that long when everyone is getting their laptops delivered seemingly inside 3 weeks or so. Says the laptop is in the build stage, which is where it should be.

 

I'm supposed to get mine today, 8/20. So it took 19 days for me.

 

13 days here. Ordered on the 7th, EDD was 9/8, but DHL tracking says it will come today

 

Mines took 10 days from the day I ordered til it arrived at my door.
However, my original order that I canceled had taken 23 days it was still in the build stage when I canceled.

 

It took 24 days for mine to arrive, and it was well worth the wait.

Yeah! Dell just sent me a coupon code for $100 to my email.

 

How did they tell you they were gonna give you $100? Did they say, "we'll email you a gift card code"?

I'm asking cause I emailed a Rep about missing items and she said they were out of cloths so she was going to "credit my account" with $25. Not quite sure what this means.

 

I just told i was missing the ear buds etc. She then told me they're not even worth $50, and offered to give me $100 I checked my email this morning and there it was... Coupon code for $100.

 

First of, congrats mantid! I can't wait until mine gets here. Leo called today, and my motherboard still hasn't come in yet. He's going to call Monday and let me know the statues of my laptop. I have one week left until my original ESD of the 27th, so I hope there won't be any delays!

 

Today my rep called me with a status update. He found out that the delay was due to a shortage of LCD bezels... I don't have high hopes that it will reach me by the estimated date. School starts next week and I'm resorting to using my roommate's computer. I hate it.

 

Hello everybody. I received my laptop today at 1:15pm. I did my happy dance. I didn't receive the accessory kit. I called Dell and was transferred 3 times. The person who I spoke with said it wasn't on the invoice and he couldn't do anything. I asked to speak to my salesman but he wasn't in so I left a message on his voice mail. Everytime that I have called Dell in the past, they transferred me around and I ended up talking to someone who sounds like they're from India. I can never fully understand what they're saying. Hopefully my sales rep with call me tomorrow.

 

You are calling India so you most likely ARE speaking to an Indian.
