***XPS M1530 Order Status Thread***

There is no saying that the factory that made the notebook was closed on Christmas day or Sunday. Many of the factories may be on double shift, in order to fill the demands on the holiday seasons. Some countries, may celerabrate Christmas, but I may not be bigger deal there then western or more developed countries. Anyways 2-4 days for order to your door is damn impressive if you ask me. I am just praying for mine to arrive on Monday, so I can play around whole lot before I start working again on Wed.

Only hope is tomorrow. Make my holiday season more enjoyable Dell!!!! Make this happen for me!!!!

Wow congrat!!! Mine is still in production. Ordered on 22nd and it took 2 days to get confirmed. So I guess getting mine before New Year is out of question for me now. Could it be 8400 GS that I order is giving them problem? I guess I am the rare one, but I wasn't going to pay extra $100 for something that I don't need. Anybody decide to select 8400 GS on this beautiful notebook???

 

OK, just spoke with Dell CS through the Chat Service. I inquired on when my system will be delivered as it still shows "In Production" in the "Order Status" site. He said the order has been shipped (??) and gave me a DHL tracking number. The tracking number still shown as "Not Found" on DHL website, but I am very excited now!

Mine got shipped two days ago after the order was put forward to building the system. So it took them 4 days (including Christmas) to ship off my laptop to Australia.

well DHL just screwed me out of my package with some BS. NOw I gotta wait till Wednesday..

I did... they told me they couldn't "find my house." BS. Its not like I live in a rural area. I live in frickin Silicon Valley next to the city's community center. And since they only "deliver" once a day they won't bring it to my house. DELL also shipped my comp ground when it should be "next day." I friggin hate DHL this is the second time they screwed me.

 

Mine went to "In Production" 2 minutes after ordering, and has been stuck there since.

Ordered 12/23, arrived on 12/31.

Call Dell to get tracking number. Mine still says that but I call and got tracking number. That way, I know WHEN to WAIT for the DHL guy.

If DHL miss the delivery, you can actually call them and ask to HOLD the package in office so you can pick it up.

 

I received mine yesterday too!!! I was kind of worried because the shipping number showed up on Saturday and the tracking on DHL site was stucked on shipment acknowledged throughout Sunday. But I was so happy when it was delivered to me couple of hours before I left for the New Years Party. So I ordered mine on 12/22, got acknoledged and went in to production on 12/24, shipped on 12/29, and received 12/31. A great happy New Years for me so far!!!

I ordered mine on 12/28, and got the confirmation almost immediately. It says the pc is in production. Did you get notification when it shipped?

 

Gah - my order is still in pre production 5 days after I ordered it. I did not get order confirmation but I emailed the sales guy and he sent the order tracking numbers

 

Mines been in pre-production for 12 days (almost 2 weeks now) but the rep said the internet software which allows you to track your order is not always updated and my M1530 is currently being assembled and should be with me before the 10th of January which was my estimated shipping date.

 

Yes, I got email from Dell for the shippment. I was kinda surprised though. I gave up on receiving mine last year after Friday has passed. A nice job by Dell and DHL to get it to me on 31st!

I changed my order. I wanted to really sweet 1690x1050 wsxga+ screen so i cancelled my previous order and ordered this one.The only changes are, that the screen has been changed, i have the stupid antivirus program installed(which i am going to promply uninstall and install mcAfee) and then the usb premium optical mouse isnt included, i guess the CSR forgot to add it and i spent about an hour talking to him so i have no desire to do it again. cost me an additional 100 dollars but because i removed the mouse(or rather someone else did) it only increase by 70 dollars. Still i think it is worth the delay.

mine reached the boxing stage today also (1/2)
how long did it typically take everyone from that point?
my streets and trips software shipped separately and got here the day after I ordered it...from Tennesee to Michigan. pretty good.

 

That is what I am wondering? I am having it shipped to my moms so they can sign for it and need to arrange that they will be there.

 

i call the order status system like every 20 minutes just cause im really jumpy, and i have had it go from the kitting stage, to the build stage, to the boxing stage since this morning. im pretty sure it will get here for friday.
they probably box in the evening until that day's stuff is boxed up, then early in the morning the next day it all goes out to DHL, and gets to you the next day depending on where you live.

on the other hand, my dad thinks that their system is slow and it already shipped and that it will be here tomorrow. that would be great.

 

Anyone know why these things don't come with the 64GB SSD option?

it should be available sometime later this month. that will be the next thing to release following the upgraded screens (which have been out for a couple weeks now)
you'd be better off buying it with a regular 7200 rpm drive with freefall sensor, then upgrading to SSD when their prices come down. its four screws and a slide out mechanism to swap. go to www.bwone.com for more examples

 

Too late for the SSD. It was my singular choice to decide the configuration. OEM choices were/are unreasonable. Good times for all

 

Well i ordered mine today. I had them cancel the first order as i forgot to add the accidental coverage for 3 years.
I Plan to install XP on this as soon as it arrives (even have the CD made with the SATA drivers)

Aaaaaaaaaargh!!. mine has been stuck in "boxing" since yesterday. I wish i never found out about the damn number or the website. That way i wouldn't keep checking it everytime i get bored.

YEAH!!!! It's a beautiful morning. I woke up and checked my laptop's status, AND IT HAS SHIPPED. YEAHHHHHH!!!!! Still no tracking number so im guessing it hasnt reached DHL yet so it probably wont actually ship until monday, but i will definatly get it by the end of the week. again YEAHHHH!!!!

And there was much rejoicing.

I called Dell to get the tracking number but its still showing up as "no such record", when do you guys think it will ship, today or monday?

 

Wow, I ordered my system last night over the phone (got slightly better pricing than I could have online and free overnight shipping) and its already in the testing phase. Hopefully I'll have it in hand within the next week or so.
