Should be quite similar to the Titan XP. Just like we've seen from the benchmarks the chips are almost the same, except the Titans are probably binned higher.

Yup, there was a youtube comment asking why they didn't just use the EK Titan XP block as it is compatible - Nexus said they just liked building their own Hybrid solution :)
    Eliad Buchnik 1 hour ago
Steve you know that EKWB full water block for titan x pascal is compatible with GTX 1080ti why bother with those Frankenstein builds ?

    Gamers Nexus 58 minutes ago
Easier with our current benches, more fun, more comparable to previous builds. Basically just because we want to.
Watch the 3rd video for results, it shows we should likely wait for the Hybrid or full water cooled 1080ti's vs. getting the FE build.

It's at least worth waiting and watching the results of the Hybrid cooled 1080ti FE before spending big bucks on a "throttling" air-cooled FE model, without the intention of getting a water block later...

I signed up for auto notify at EVGA, I stopped listening to the live PAX feed but the EVGA guy let it slip that it could be May or this summer for the 3 fan cards.

I decided to wait on an aftermarket card as well. While I would love to have one now, not having an aftermarket card with a beefy cooler would annoy me later. I waited for both my 980 Ti and 1080 to be aftermarket, I can wait on this one too.

Unfortunately for me this as well. There just hast' been anything lately that is pushing me to feel the "need" to upgrade other than my addiction to buying the latest and greatest for my desktop. On my laptop I am willing to make sacrifices, hell I'd be happy with a 1060 in it if it weren't for the small 100$ difference I paid to get a 1070. I will still most likely grab an aftermarket card once available though unless we hear more whispers about Volta.

I just read a post in Asus that said mid march for their no FE 1080ti, I'm still thinking about a FE card that I could toss a water block on down the road but the three fan version just looks so sexy.

Water cooling is the only way to get the temps in the below 50c range consistently for maximum boost stability.

Maybe one of the closed loop hybrids will get there for less $ than a full on water cooling solution.

Gotcha. IIRC even massdrop had those last month, very limited units though.

Hope they take the 1080Ti's up a notch this time.

Off topic - Love how posts keep on disappearing. Not sure if someone is salty or mods are super active now :p

So is the general consesus the aibs are coming? Asus did say mid march.

I really hope they'll be soon. Or at least before 1070 prices drop.

Personally I would wait on the ASUS AIBs. Tht strix 1080's were some of the worst overclockers around.
I would rather wait for the EVGA releases until May. But that's just me.

Charles - Wanna see a magic trick? *poof*.

I recently reworked my friends desktop and added a predator 280 to it.
Now 2 weeks later he wanted to water-cool his GPU, ordered the EK Nickel block prefilled and with the QDC, hooked it in and voila!
    Couldn't have been easier.
Custom loops however are a totally different animal.

Thought about trying a Kraken bracket on an air cooled too, but a pre-built one is still less hassle.

I will check out those videos later, I have been wanting to do some sort of loop but it's a pricey endeavor. the AIO DIY job could satisfy my desire to tinker and not cost as much as the card itself.

It looks like just swapping the cooling from air to hybrid air/water makes a 5-10 FPS improvement, with more headroom in some games to OC +15 FPS, so going to full water should be even better :)

I could just do a custom loop just for the GPU, I'll save money if I step up from my sons 1060 if I sign up within 28 days, This could offset the cost of the kit, I have spent some time using the configurator at EKWB.

Yeah i went ahead and ordered the Titan Pascal waterblocks. Going to pipe the GPU into the Predator 280's radiator and add an additional radiator for my 6850k.

IMO it's much less hassle doing a custom loop than the AIO mid. At least I feel that way for some reason.

der8auer shows what's changed on the GPU PCB between the Titan X(P) and the 1080ti, where the power measuring shut resisters are on the 1080ti, and he promises future videos on the 1080ti OC. :)

Watch the videos @Galm, read the reviews, look at the charts, it's all there :)

I can find and post the information, you need to read it in context to appreciate the numbers. I can give you a number but within the context of the reviews is the reason for that number and how it relates between make / model, and air vs water. Without that context a number isn't of any use.

If you want the best info use the Nexus reviews, if you only want to watch one, watch the results of the Hybrid project.
