@Mr. Fox Shouldn't 3dmark Timespy is sued used as an indicator that your PC is ready for dx12 gaming and why do they render Timespy at QHD res on a FHD based screens? Isn't that simply overkill or simply stupid because most gamers stick to native resolution than SW trick to render it at DSR.
I thought my specs aren't up to the mark considering Timespy scores, well dx12 games proved me wrong and I can manage 60 FPS at High or Ultra settings at FHD on my old maxwell gpu.

Yes, or just use the same AC unit I have been using for years for laptops to blow chilled air into the radiator. That is how @Trafficante got his i9 7940X bench-stable at 5.0GHz... which I think is pretty stinking amazing. Quite the wicked monster CPU that makes me jealous.
If I am following you, yes. I think it is ironic to present the notion to "see if your PC is ready for DX12" (as in Windows 10) if the only way you can find out is to install Windows 10 to run the benchmark. I always stick to native resolution. I have no use for DSR and don't see any point to it. I think most systems with discrete GPU and an i7 for the past 3 or 4 years are going to be able to play most games at 60 FPS. The people making and selling games would have trouble selling them if they required newer hardware to run, and the minimum system requirements for most games are very tolerant of antiquated hardware.

I know you already saw and liked this post, but in case you lost track of it, you can use the link to @Prema web site or go the the NBR link below. The link here does not include the Windows 7 drivers, so go to @Prema's web site for that.

Notice the list of supported GPUs in Brother @j95 post includes popular current desktop GPUs.

Another super-annoying thing besides the authentication being lost and having to sign in every time I access HWBOT.org is the new automated mouse hovering crap that was added with rev7. I hate it when menus automatically activate when I move my mouse across the screen without clicking. That makes me want to punch someone in the face real hard. That kind of automated browser behavior always sucks, and I think it also can be a security risk when no click is required.

Lol, I know what you mean. I always end up clicking anyway, and end up double clicking something I didn't want to. Try Firefox browser, it's what I use, as I can't stand chrome. I use an add-on available that is called last pass, which is a password manager. They store your passwords on an encrypted server, probably on an Intel cpu, lol. Anyway I've been using their service for years, and it works great.

I need to try that modded gpu driver also, from what I hear the driver doesn't crash when benchmarking, which is the major issue I am having atm.

We're the exact opposite on that. Before Chrome it was my only browser, and because of that I try it again every year or so. While I am open-minded and always willing to try something new, I have a low tolerance threshold for things I do not care for. Negative first impressions are frequently the deal killer for me, and once set I find them difficult to shake. Fortunately, I used to like Firefox the best and used it for years prior to Chrome, so I am always open to checking it out every so often. I did so only a few months months ago and still do not like it. I used LastPass with Firefox and did not care for it either. It is too cumbersome compared to Chrome's native seamless and elegant password manager.

I also recently tried Opera again at the recommendation of @j95. That was tough for me because I had always despised it. If nothing else, it was as ugly as sin... truly horrid and unattractive UI for many years. Now I find Opera is actually much better than Firefox (for me), still nothing can replace Chrome as far as I am concerned. It's the only browser I truly like now and I have been hooked on it since the first time I used it. Internet Explorer is my second favorite browser, and I don't like it much either. I find all of them annoying to use and unattractive compared to Chrome.

When I clean install an OS, the first steps I take the first time the desktop loads (before installing any drivers even) are to disable UAC, then disable Windows Update in services.msc to block the Redmond Nazis from messing things up. The first thing I do upon establishing my first internet connection is download Chrome browser and set it as the default.

I do those exact steps, except I install Firefox. Last pass integration with Firefox is much better now, and is more seamless. Google has their hands in my privacy enough on my phone, and my PC searching, so I stay away from chrome, and any other Google ad on. I'm the opposite l, and thunk chrome is ugly and their book marking is cumbersome. Call me old fashioned, but the lack of top menu annoys me also. I have it installed, but never use it.

Yeah, I love top menu and I had to get used to it being gone in Chrome. Every time there is an update to any software or browser UI it makes me angry. Changing a good UI that everyone that likes a particular product is used to is truly retarded. I don't like the side menu with the stacked bar icon approach on anything... ever. The idea of changing a good UI that users are acclimated to is always a bad idea, and the trend we see today is popularity among the brain trust clown posse always trumps efficiency for the masses. That sucks.

The fact that Google is heavily integrated into Android is one of the reasons I prefer it. I like that everything I do in Chrome on my PC follows on the phone and it makes everything easier for me. I hate the lack of privacy and data collection in everything today. It is really no different in concept than unwelcome sexual advances, voyeurism, rape, racketeering and extortion. It should be treated as a felony offense and the leadership of companies that do that (Apple, Google, Micro$loth) should be convicted and sent to prison for it. I have the right plug-ins, extensions and blockers to mitigate it as much as possible. But, the fact that we need to take those steps speaks volumes about how screwed up things are. They should not be going there and there should be no reason for us to have to.

Sorry we are so far off topic now. Here's this.

I think computers, vehicles and music are at their best when they are big and noisy. Those are nice compliments to ludicrously powerful and beautiful, in contrast to small, weak and pathetic.

Cars I quite like powerful & noisy, PC's I like powerful & quiet, but I see where you're coming from & you get extra performance with sub ambient - or at least that's the plan! How much extra performance are you hoping to get from sub ambient? (On the CPU only right, or GPU too?)

If you already have an old AIO CPU cooler on hand, you can use this $30 bracket (if a typical Asetek cooler - see compatibility list) to convert it to liquid cool your GPU).

I am having a hard time understanding Prema's instructions for the dedicated Win 7 desktop driver on his site. It says to copy over corresponding inf files from below, yet I see none.

Yep I was thinking the same thing.

Hey @Mr. Fox if you don't mind me asking, where did your mount your fan controller for the Riing 360?

Also, where do you set the Dip switches. I can't find any instructions on those 4 switches.

It is @j95 instructions, not @Prema. I believe the hyperlinks are bright green text and the fact that they are hyperlinks might not be obvious. Let me check. Be right back.

All of the DIP switches are in the same position and the default should be fine. I had to look it up online because there was no documentation on that in the box. The DIP switches are only used if you daisy-chain more than one controller. I had the fan controller stuck to the back of the motherboard tray with rubber mounting tape. You can use the Velcro for that. When you launch the software for the first time you will likely get an error message on the screen because the pump has not been selected in the UI. There are two extra spots (ports 4 and 5) in the UI and one of the two corresponds to the pump. Which spot in the UI depends on which controller port the pump is plugged into, so select Floe Riing RGB from the drop-down. To make it easier, just select Floe Riing RGB for both empty ports. Only one will work since one port on the controller is vacant unless you connect another controller or a fourth Riing RGB fan. See screen shot below.

    upload_2018-2-2_18-58-26.png

If you want all three fans to have the color or RGB animation matching, select the color or pattern you want on port #1, then for the other two select "Copy Color" for the light mode and they will be in sync and the color selection wheel on ports 2 and 3 will be grayed out.

Did you figure out how to mount the drive caddies to the back of the motherboard tray?

Yeah, I am looking forward to see pictures of that, too.

I bet that would work with the NZXT bracket. I actually did not notice that in your signature when I mentioned it earlier today. That would be so great for your GPU benchmarks and the cheapest way to get it liquid cooled since you already have the AIO. Looks like you could probably even leave the heat sinks mounted on the peripheral GPU components with the Acellero right now.

Yeah I like the mounting on the back of the case. It's definitely nicer and a lot more spacious than my old MSI case.

I haven't ran any benchmarks yet. Probably do a little tomorrow. I really need to get the Micro$haft patches off this machine. Meltdown and Spectre updates really hurt me when it comes to overclocking.

I would not worry about that too much. It is using HWiNFO and I do not know what sensor it reads from. It may be trying to read from a sensor not present on your MSI motherboard, which would explain why it reads 0°C. If you click on the word "Info" in the lower left corner of the UI near Thermaltake and that will open a window with sensor information. You might be able to look at the CPU sensors in there and see which one has a reading of 0°C (meaning it is not a working sensor). It could also have something to do with the header you connected the pump to for power. My motherboard has a special header for AIO pump. If yours does not or it is connected to a CPU fan header, it may not be able to read sensor information from that. Hard to say for sure, but probably not worth losing much sleep over if everything is working fine.

Trick is that you have to"Enable Gadgets" in HWiNFO settings to get it to display on Riing UI.

Also, You need to open HWiNFO first before Riing Ui.

    Little better score on Superpostition.

There are some things that I expected EVGA would have better quality control on. I also dont like the white light that comes with in the case, it should be RGB. I may unplug it and put one of my own in it.

First is the power supply back cover which has push latches on it. It doesnt line up when it is in place. 20180203_183109.jpg

The case has a quick release power supply mechanism. Not really a mechanism, but it sandwiches it a little so you do not need any screws, and while pushing it in, it scratched my power supply.

I will play with it for another day, but may end up going back to my Cooler master case. I will wait till my new water cooling fitting arrive. I ordered some quick connects, and a ball valve to drain the reservoir more easily. Going to switch the fluid to distilled water to see if there is some temperature differences. Plus the red coolant was a big no no, as it makes a freaken mess, and doesnt look good in the reservoir. I have a red led that I think would look great with clear coolant. Anyway, if someone offers me something for this behemoth, I may consider it.

I think it looks alright, it's not the most elegant case around by the looks of it, very chunky wide plastic/or metal either side of the window, but it's not fugly & it looks good inside the window where you've got everything installed.

Maybe we can see increased prices (+ empty shelves) on next gen processors as well due the crypto-currency mining craze? All we get from this is Overpriced, Gpu, Cpu, Memory and ssd's from this mess...

After GPUs, CPUs May Become The Next Go-To Hardware For Use in Cryptomining – AMD Ryzen Threadripper CPUs Can Pay For Themselves in Under a Year

"With the provided insight, what AMD is saying is that with home mining on a Ryzen Threadripper, you can earn almost $90 US per month through the NiceHash platform and given the current price of the chip and electricity cost, you can pay for the chip in less than a year."

And of course, Samsung want it's share...
Samsung Enters Volume Production of a Killer Crypto-mining ASIC
"One of the world's largest SoC, DRAM, and NAND flash makers, with its own semiconductor fabs, Samsung, is eyeing itself a large slice of the crypto-currency mining craze. The company reportedly entered volume production of a highly efficient crypto-currency mining ASIC, for an unnamed client from China. The client has placed a gargantuan order for crypto-coin mining ASICs contract-manufactured by Samsung, which appears to be targeted at Bitcoin, for now."

Ya, and coming from a hardware site like Hard OCP makes it even worse. The guy should be flogged for posting this video. What an idiot. " Hey everyone lets pay for your threadripper in a years time by driving the price up on current stock". So when you want to upgrade, you can pay double the price, and probably not find one in stock anywhere.

Nice review of the View 71 by GamersNexus. The only thing he got wrong was having to take the front and top glass panes off to remove those panels. I leave the glass attached. No reason to remove those pieces of glass.

Hmm, interesting, actually your results are far lower in latency than these examples:

Maybe firmware update is newer on your motherboard, so improvements in memory latency have been attained since that article? (04/04/2017)

New version released today Futuremark 3DMark + TimeSpy v2.4.4254 (February 5, 2018). The latest version forces hardware monitoring information to be sent to Futuremark for validation of scores (and not just a general hardware and drivers probe). I wonder what they have ****ed up in this version :D

Don't forget to save/backup your older version. If not, grab older versions if needed under the tab "Show more versions" in the same linked page
    v2.4.4163 (December 12th, 2017)
This is a minor update. Benchmark scores are not affected.

    Improved

    • Benchmark loading screen logos and labels are now consistent across all tests. You will need to update your DLC files, but this is purely a cosmetic change. Benchmark scores are not affected.
    • Use the new "Update All" button to update all DLC files to the latest version.
    Fixed

    • Restored the missing sub-scores on the Fire Strike result screen.
    • Fixed a rare issue that could cause Fire Strike, Cloud Gate, and Ice Storm tests to fail on a few specific Intel processors.
    • Fixed an issue that could cause 3DMark to hang on the splash screen.

I had some issues like they mention in changelog. I'll wait for some days since I don't wanna re-download 3dmark again.

If you have a normal download speed, please download and test. For me, I'm ****ed with minimum and even worse. The minimum speed is already killed even more by my children's toys

So I just picked up my bottles of Vue over the weekend to take a look at them on Saturday night and flipped them over and took a look at the bottom of the bottle and this is what my 2 bottles looked like.

Not sure how comfortable I really feel about even attempting to use this coolant anymore. As much as I would really love the aesthetics of it, this is from about 2-3 weeks of sitting on my shelf waiting to build. In additional to all the other issues with the coolant, it looks like this stuff is still settling at the bottom and building up despite being advertised as something that would never happen with this coolant. I let it sit from Saturday to Sunday and checked the bottle again last night and there was always a thin small layer of debris gathering at the bottom of the bottle again. Think I'm just going to look into some clear pre mix coolant to avoid any serious potential problems or headaches going forward. I was already planning on going clear when I started my build but I bought into this Vue BS and advertising and thought it might be the solution to these types of coolants or dyes and colored liquids but alas, what seems too good to be true usually is. I'm going away for a week at the end of the month as well on a cruise, really don't want to come back and find this debris piled up in my water blocks after not being run for a week.
