    Hy Everyone,

I have a small problem with my external vidcard. If I send my laptop to shutdown it starts the cooling vent in max capacity. And won't stop unthil I start the laptop again or I disconnect the power from it.

Any idea? No bios or other changer. just the autotic update for win7 x64

Make bios update (1.05) it fix the screen from black when you wake it from sleep. And make sure you have the drivers installed for graphic booster from here http://ts.fujitsu.com/support/downloads.html

Regarding the awesomely ugly blue hotkey OSD.

I found out that you could change the images for the OSD with a program called ResHack (or resource hacker, it's a freeware utility to view, modify, rename, add, delete and extract resources in 32bit Windows executables and resource files. It can be downloaded here: http://angusj.com/resourcehacker/ ).

The files relevant to the OSD can be found in the Launch Manager directory: OSD.exe, Hotkeyapp.exe, FanSysTray.exe and WisKeyState.exe.

I don't know anything about programming or the like, so I couldn't figure out how to swap the bitmaps (.bmp) with .png files- which means that transparency is an issue: only the color white is transparent.
Also I couldn't find and replace the text that says 'Silent mode' and 'Normal mode'.

Anyhow, I sorta made a theme with some sprites from Super Mario Bros. It's not super duper good, but it beats the ugly blue .

    Screenshots can be found here:
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/34234973@N08/sets/72157622860034036/

The altered files can be found here (Ps! I've only changed the bitmaps and icons):
    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=F0U88VYE

If anybody know how to use .png files in stead of .bmp I'd be happy to learn how.

    got a question...

will it be possible to change the Cpu to the AMD Turion II Ultra M600, M620 or even M660?

It seems that the ZM-8X uses the S1G2 socket, and the M6XX uses the S1G3..

    someone knows?

    Hello,

I'm trying to run some older games. It's possible to display 1024x768 resolution unstretched on internal LCD screen (with black bars on sides)? I know that there should be an option in CCC, but I cannot find it. Screen shot of my catalyst control center is attached. Operating system Windows Vista SP2.

    Thank you for help.

Just switched from the stock zm-80 to a zm-86 cpu and went from 7400 p to 8000 p in 3dmark06.

Anyhow... since I dont use the dvd drive I consider removing it and replacing it wit a secondary hard drive. To be more specific, I want to move the current HDD to the dvd slot and put in a SSD in the original hard drove slot. Have anyone of you found a caddy that fits? In other case have any of you pics of the dvd drive cuz I need to see what the bay and the internal connection looks like.

I think I found the answer myself...
The sa3650 has an AMD 780G north bridge and a SB700 south bridge.
According to wikipedia the SB700 runs SATA 3.0.
This mean that I can make use of the performance if I decide to to replace the HDD with a SSD... :)

I'm also running win7 32-bit with the latest catalyst drivers. But cannot change the clock settings. The settings keep reseting. Any clues?

EDIT 1: Tried both the 8.57-WHQL and other drivers. BTW it isnt very important for me to be able to boost the internal screen since I use an external one for gaming.
EDIT 2: Tested with ATI tray tools (freezes the computer), ATI tool (doesnt run correctly), RivaTuner 2.24 (unable to overclock), AMD GPU Clock Tool (unable to overclock).

What harddrive temperatures are you guys getting with your Sa3650? Mine's peaking at 65C under stress/gaming, this is too high right? I've cleared out all the air vents so it's not dust. I'm using http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php to check temperatures.

Try to clock about 20-50 Mhz at a time, and you should see that it will change the clocks. Run GPUz to see the correct clocks rate and the temperature.

The screen flickers 2 times and then back to default, 648/999. According to GPUz the settings remain at 648/999 the whole time.
What now? Please help me.

Hmm... which windows are you using and which version of drivers? With AMD GPU Clock i can reduce clock of internal card too. I am using the latest driver for crossDisplay and Windows 7 64bit. Here is a log from GPUz about clocks, 2009-11-28 18:38:07 , GPU Core Clock [MHz] 351.0 , GPU Memory Clock [MHz] 499.5, Fan Speed [%] 61.0 , Temp 71 (on Windows 7 64bit you see the half clocks of GB) my GPU core clock is 700Mhz how you see.

How you can see GB Hard driver temp? You only need to know gpu core temp. That is what you need to know.

Which are drivers are you using? (Just too make sure that we are using the same)

He is not referring too boosters HDD temp but to the laptop HDD temp

@ Buddzha: Havent stressed my HDD alot by after running 3dMark06 a couple of times the maximum temp was around 50 degrees celsius. I agree, 65 C sounds a bit too high.

But receives a blue-screen when installing the drivers. Catalyst wont install from these drivers....

Will confirm this once more after 3Dmark.

    Hi again!
Spent the last couple of hours on installing/uninstalling different drivers. The ONLY drive suite which I found that allows OC in Win 7 is the 8.631.1 (latest from FSC homepage). But this driver seems to a bug!! Every other driver that I've tested gives around 8100p in 3dmark06 with my computer setup. But this driver gives only around 7600p. The error seems to be in PCIe drivers which inly allows the GB to run @ 8x v1.1 instead of v2.0 which forces the GPU/mem to run at half the speed (checked with GPU-z). Check out these screenshots.

    Fujitsu drivers
    Booster_8.631.1.0_overclock_FSC.png

Non Fujitsu drivers - Windows default and newer catalyst
    Booster_8.632.1.2000_no_overclock.png

Could this be similar problem as this? http://forum.ts.fujitsu.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=40793

    Please verify this guys!

EDIT: Hmm... not sure about the performance loss... cannot manage to get it back to 8000p... :(
EDIT 2: My bad. The performance wasnt changed that much. The temporary performance loss was due to background processes thet wasnt stopped. Now I get 7870 with FSC drivers, previously around 8000-8050p.

Without spending to much time spent on overclocking the booster i increased my 3dmark03 score from 7870p to 8425p @ 796/1080.

How much have you managed to OC the booster?

The temps goes to 78C and the fans to 85 % i think. It seem that I can go much higher with either GPU nor mem. GPU settings higher than 796 will cause 3dmarks to crash and mem settings higher 1080 will give artifacts while running.
I found a sw a while ago to manually set the fan settings thresholds but I dont seem to remember which. And regarding better cooling try something like this. :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFzch3EL6Ww

I also use AMD GPU Clock Tool. As mentioned earlier you must use the drivers from Fujitsus home page. They are the only drivers I know of that gives the possibility of overclocking.
I use HW Monitor to monitor the temps of my computer but I dont know which software to use to monitor the fan speeds.

Anyone noticed the difference with the latest bios? The only thing the FSC 1.07 Bios update notes says is:
    - Windows 7 support implemented.
... but what does this exactly mean...?

And i don't see any step from Fujitsu to fix this bug. It's seems they forgot it.

That is not a problem. If your power plan is set to balance, the system automatically reduce clock speed to consuming less power, when don't need more power. I have ZM-80 and on balance power plan, i have 525 MHz.
