i have see on the facebook group of graphicbooster, that the graphicbooster works with the Acer Ferrari One and 3DMark06 score jumps from 1200 to 5432 ^^
-
Worth mentioning that the above score on Acer Ferrari One 200 is with the Fujitsu graphic booster.
Have any of you found any scores on the Ferrari with Acers own 5870 booster? -
Does anyone know where can i purchase one of those Fujitsu Graphic Boosters in UK? xD
-
Not sure its being sold at all any longer. I dont think they sell it in sweden anyway, only the notebook w/o the booster. But I could be wrong.

several shops ship to UK... -
Hey there fellas...
I recently stumbled upon a very annoying "bug" which appeared a few days ago.
Since then the GB's fan is going to full speed instead of stopping when the GB is in anyway disconnected from the notebook.
I haven't figured out how to fix that. I tried to install the graphic drivers several times and even updated the notebooks Bios to 1.07.
I thought maybe the notebook sends a "wrong" signal to the booster when shutting down or disconnecting the booster, but even if I connect the booster to the power supply without anything else connected to it, the fan still goes to full speed.
I tried to figure out if some piece of software I installed could have caused this, but I didn't change anything at the time it occured.
Has anyone encountered this/a similar problem and found a solution?
Cutting the power supply every time really annoys me.
Greetings

/e: You guys might also try the 10.3 Catalyst Leak/Preview. Installed fine on W7 X64. No need to use Mobility Modder. Fan problem still exists though. Didn't expect it to be gone anyways. And still no support of boosting the internal display, but according to several people there should be a nice performance improvement -
Has any of you managed to lower the booster fan speed or the temperature? My booster idles at 60 C and the fan really annoying when reading documents/surfing. I'm running Fujitsu's latest drivers.
-
Guys just yesterday i lost a Samsung DIMM, memtest shows the memory is corrupted. I will contact Fujitsu support team for further help. Did anybody have the same problem?
-
Has anyone got pictures when they changed the processor? I'm mainly interested in how to open and remove safely cooling parts over cpu.
Also, is it possible to change single channel / dual channel configuration of RAM? -
I once opened the notebook because I had a lot of dust in it which caused thermal throttling. I don't have any pictures though...
I also removed the CPU. It was quite easy. All you have to do is remove the buttom flap of the Notebook. Once that is done you just have to remove the Heatpipe and the CPU can be removed. When reassabling I didn't use any additional thermal paste/pads and everything works still fine.

Thanks for the quick reply!
One thing I noticed - there is release date (somewhere around next month) when ACER DYNAVIVID GRAP.DOCK (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670) is released. Estimated price in most Finnish dealers is around 180 eur. What do you guys think - will this work with our Amilo?
On another note - I've read about these issues with Windows 7 x64, low performance, loud fan and not able to boost internal display. Has anyone tried Acer Dynavivid drivers to circumvent this? -
The newest "fujitsu" drivers are from Acer and not from Fujitsu. If you look drivers on Acer site, you will see it's the same version driver (8.631) -
What about Acer users using Graphic Booster (I think there were few trying it out with their Acer Ferrari) - are they suffering from same issue? -
i have read that on the amilo graphicbooster facebook group:
"I can confirm that the Graphicbooster is also working with the Acer Ferrari One...3DMark06 score jumps from 1200 to 5432 with the newest crossdisplay drivers. [...] (But Same issue with fillrate and bandwidth)" -
Hello
Im another owner of the Amilo graphic booster +Sa 3650.
I installed Windows 7 64bit, and after some searching i managed to get only the beta 8.57 catalyst to work on my system (the ones that can actually also boost the internal display through the XGP from Catalyst CC).
My main issue is that i dont rly need to use the internal laptop LCD when im @ home since i have a big 22 lcd for desktop use. So i wanted to upgrade the drivers to some newer version, but apparently all my tries were in vain.
I didnt manage to get it to work, and the worst thing is that i read about the PCIe underachieving in 1.1x speed than 2.0.
So my question is: Is there ANY driver that can get me to use my external LCD in windows 7 64bit and also take advantage of 2.0 PCIe?
Im thinking about using windows XP but since i havent searched at all on that matter, is everything ok with the graphic booster on windows xp?
Thanks for ur time and help,
David -
You can install the original drivers from AMD/ATI for mobile edition, and will work only for external monitor.

am sorry to bring this here, but my laptop is constantly having 58~60 degrees on the hard disk, and the processor when running on high performance or balanced is about 90 degrees, then rise to 100+, then drops again, and also if I run a game, or the media player, they will lag in intervals, even flash games lags >.<
please help !!!
ps: i've found out that this problem only happens when you using windows 7 x64, but using windows vista makes this problem of heat appear only during games not with being idle as well, and I think this lagging thing is bcuz of cpu throttling, as it seems that when it rises to 100+ it throttles the cpu performance so that it could regain normal temps, but what can I do to return my lappy to it normal state where I used to game fine without this overheating issue?
-
wHoOp3r: On Fujitsu forum, there are some guys with same problem, over heat CPU temp. Check your fan if works fine, and cooler is clean no dust etc... otherwise contact with support center. I use Win 7 x64. When i play games like COD:Warface 2 with max graphic, the cpu reach to 75 C.

Hi,
I am new here, but I have some experience regarding to this wonderful notebook combo. Here is what I posted to fujitsu forum today:
1. About drivers:
I am currently using catalyst 10.3a drivers and they work fine with GB. Even the pci-e line is 8x 2.0 like it should be and frequencies have also right values. 3DMark06 gives a little under 8000 points. Only feature that does not work is inner boosting, but that does not matter to me. I am using win7 64 bit.
2. About overheating:
I had also this overheating problem and when playing Battlefield Bad Company 2 temps went up to 107 degrees celsius. That made the prosessor to throttle. Then I cleaned the old thermal paste and applied Coollaboratory Liquid MetalPad to prosessor and chipset. I cleaned also dust from lamels and fan. The max temperature dropped over 20 degrees! Now the temperature has not risen over 80 degrees. I am very pleased to the current situation and can recommend trying Liquid MetalPad. However, this voids warranty, so be careful.
I hope this helps someone. -
thnx a lot gamefex for your advice, but my warranty hasn't ended yet, so I won't open my laptop, yet
-
Also do you have a link as to were to get the Liquid MetalPad? -
Guys, I wouldn't recommend you to use that crap. It works like 2C better, but then you have to lap everything. Read the manual it says it may leave some residue that can be cleaned up with a metal grinding wheel. And should the cpu reaches 85 degrees to melt and get out so...
-
I'm just curious about its performance comparing to high-end thermal pastes. I'm quite happy with the MX-3 but always keep looking for a better solution.
-
after some work, I've figured out how to stop the cpu from overheating, and now am all about benchies, so here you guys, with just some overclocking I managed to get 8019 in 3DMark06
I'll try to improve that score
Edit: after another successful overclocking attempt, my benchmark is now up to 8118 -
What was your initial score? How much have you overclocked and have you overclocked the cpu, gpu/mem or both?
/Adrian -
I got the compound from finnish verkkokauppa.com, since I live in Finland. -
am only overclocking the gpu right now, still haven't tried to overclock the cpu and as for my clocks, am now using 668.25 for core clock and 1125 for memory clock, am gonna try to go for higher, the temp for the gpu is not a problem -
-
a new personal best, 8190
Edit: just scored 8398 and 8430, but unfortunately they had some artifacts....
now if anyone can tell me how to overclock the cpu in this baby -
Arrgh I could go mad xD
I still can't get the Graphicbooster to shut down properly... the fan still goes wild if the Notebook is shut down or disconnected.
Anyone experiencing the same problem and maybe was able to fix it?
-pisto -
-
Yeah... began with the oldest drivers and worked my way up to 10.3. None of the drivers fixed it though.
If the drivers make a difference, does that mean that the graphicbooster actually has some kind of "firmware"? Because just plugging in the power adapter causes the same problem, even without anything else connected.
-pisto -
Has anyone tried undervolting the CPU?
My CPU did reach 108 C when I was gaming yesterday, not very good. I have removed dust from the fan on several occasions but the temps goes high again within a couple of months... -
-
-
I'm also running Win7 64Bit. It worked fine at first. Then after a few months the booster suddenly started it's fan madness...
I'm actually thinking if I should send it to fujitsu, but I bet they would also want the notebook with the booster and the first thing they would do is to format the HDD. So I'm hoping there is anything to it that I can fix.
Next weekend I'll propably try reinstalling once again. Maybe I get lucky
-pisto -
what worked for me though (and could work for you too!!) was getting rid of unwanted programs, and apparently, some of these programs were loading my cpu too much already that it had to overheat when gaming.
you can also open the task manager and end the processes that aren't necessary, like download managers, windows media centre, that webcam stuff, just keep looking in there and end those that are just loading the cpu over nothing -
-
Running many unnecessary apps in the background can of course lower the performance but my problem is when gaming an running both cores at 100 %. :s -
-
-
anyway, just try closing some of these processes, as that was my problem before, I uninstalled some of the unwanted programs, and now I close as much processes and even my anti-virus for optimum performance prior to benchmarking and I have like 60 running
as I said before, I had the same problem, this solved it for me -
Update: new personal best on benchmarks, 8563

Guys about the problem with the new drivers 8.631 and the half speed in memory and core , i agree that with gpu-z u take those results. But because i didnt notice any change in my perfomance i checked the speeds with MSI Afterburner and they seem ok.What do u say about that. Please someone try it and reply because i cant get 8.57 to work under windos 7 32 bit in my internal screen.any solutions for that? Please Heeeeelp why the 8.57 wont work uder windows 7 32 bit?And test the MSI After burner with 8.632,the speeds seem ok
-
Hey arroste i am more arrostos than u.Hey man being from greece as i am can u please help me out with the 8.57 not working in windows 7 32 bit in internal screen? Please if u want i would like to talk over τηλεφωνο or email.By the way man i checked the speeds in 8.632 drivers in windows 7 32 bit ,with gpu-z and they seem buggie as u say,in half speed. But with MSI Afterburner seem great:600,1000.And also my perfomance in the games remain the same or even better when i had Vista with 8.57 that works in full speed for sure. What about that? Please try it out and post or mail me at [email protected]
-
I believe that gpu-z its not right.Msi afterburner show the clocks correct.and i see no difference in the games at all.I never used the 3d Mark 06 with the 8.57 driver.By the way sorry for posting 3 times the same things .My bad.I have this baby since July 09 and been reading the forum, one of the best for our Amilo and i have to say that this laptop is one of the best even today.Games that give more attention to GPU are simply the best in our laptop.I also have an Acer 5940g Core i7-720QM,4GB Ram,ATI HD4650 1GB GDDR3,500 GB HD .Windows Index score is : CPU 7.1, RAM ,7.4 , Graphics 6.8,Gaming Graphics 6.8 ,HD 5.7.
Well believe it or not some games are better in Acer(not by far) but there are games like Alien vs Predator(DX11!!!)that is playable in Amilo SA3650 with all details to very high where as in Acer i have to set it all low execept the resolution. So to anyone that doubts our Amilo play a game on it first!!!
Thank u for your patience. -
A bit OT but it seem that Acer wont be selling the upgraded Booster the Ferrari One. This could mean no future Boosters....

Btw I contacted Fujitsu because of the fan-bug. They said that it is most likely a hardware problem... That explains why trying to fix it with software didn't work
