I did a clean install with the windows 7 beta. I had to validate it against microsoft so its genuine windows 7 before i could see the XGP driver (its a graphics driver it dosent says XGP explicit) as a download from microsoft updates. So check that you have a genuine copy of windows, or else the driver wont show up, atleast it dident for me.

I after installed the driver the blue lamp lights up in the XGP unit. That means that its working correctly. The only driver that supports internal screen boosting is this one http://www.megaupload.com/?d=M21LDFZS

If you dont need internal screen boosting any ati driver will work i guess.

those who bought this maschine... did it come with vista 32 or 64 bit?

Hopefully I get mine tomorrow.. bought it from www.wupti.com , and it was very cheap because someone delievered it back, and because of that they had to sell it cheaper, so I only paid 460€, but with the same warranty as a new one... and win7 upgrade..

Expect some question over the week, if i cant get it to work ;)

thx all for answering questions, even though this thread is very ed up and NOT organised :p

Forget every thing you know for now and every thing you done for now, cause there is an official drivers 8.63 released for windows 7 (and you can install it on Windows Vista too) to have cross Display. Good luck to everyone.

Before i congrats FCS, i noticed some issues. The one thing i noticed is i lost 3dmark score. With old drivers i had 7300 with (Fusion on) and now i got 7150

The second one is problem with Graphic Booster. i lost GPU Clock and memory Clock how you can see here and the fan speed is too fast and temperature is bit higher than with preview drivers

I install it on Vista 64bit.

How i see no one tested it. Well i made some test on Windows 7 and had the same problem like in Windows Vista 64bit. FCS seyes that the driver is not compatibility with windows 7 64bit, but there is driver for 64bit.

New official drivers support cross display as beta drivers?

I have vista 64 too...But now i havent the booster with me to test it

    There are 2 new drivers:

    8.631.1.0 Seven/Vista Drivers
    and
    8.593.3 Vista Drivers

    Both supports Crossdisplay?
    Someone tested one of them?

You try them only with vista64 or also with 7_64?

Strange is that one day after acer publishing drivers for his dock, fs publishing his one...the same packages...the same versione....strange...

But, at the end, is better that someone else have a xgp dock...are always ati card...and catalyst are always catalyst...we can see if from one brand to other there are some difference in the use of the card

Same problem here....I tryed on win 7 64b - fan was too loud in iddle(about 70% ) and temperature was higher (+10°C), so i gave up on overclocking possibility and used drivers from 9.9 catalysts...

    i have a few questions:
i just tested 3dmark06 and got 7,6k score. I got ZM80 CPU and im using Vista 32bit. Updated driver from fsc.com, but not sure thats the best ones.

    1. Will the 3D performance increase if I install win 7 64BIT?

    2. I read that the 3870 and the HD3200 onboard are running crossfire.. dunno anything about crossfire/SLI, but do I have to activate it somewhere? Right now it seems that HD3200 is deactivated in ATI controlpanel

    3. Will the laptop support 7.200rpm harddrives and perhaps ssd's?`

    4. Whats the maximum supported ram ammount? 4gb?

    THats it for now :)

    thx

Are you kidding? 7.600 3dmark06 ? That is awesome!!! The max with ZM80 is about 7200-7300 3dmark06. Nice one dude.

    1. With 7_64bit i think i will have little more high score cause of 4GB of Ram.

    2. What about crossfire...that is good question. But i don't think that is supporting.

    3. Yes i does. I have a Seagate 200GB 7200RPM. And should support and SSD (don't forget Amilo Sa3650 support SATA2)

    4. On 32bit OS you will have only 2.3GB with shear memory. And on 64bit OS 3.8GB with shear memory.

    Hi guys,

I have the ZM-86 and I'm quite happy with it except for the cpu temperature that worries me. When gaming the cpu temperature max out at about 82 degrees celsius (180 degrees fahrenheit) with a notebook cooler. Before I had the cooler the cpu used to heat up to over 90 degrees celsius (194 degrees fahrenheit). Is this acceptible? What temperature does your Sa 3650 run at? At least my graphics booster never goes over 69 degrees celsius (156 degrees fahrenheit) which I believe is a decent temperature?

    Thanks,
    JP

    Hey there,
Yes it is normal for ZM-86 to have max 82 degrees and can reach to 90 degrees so. You can read it here http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-FSC-Amilo-SA3650-Notebook-Amilo-Graphic-Booster.13484.0.html
I have ZM-80 and the max temp is about 76 degrees Celsius and 70 with laptop cooler.

Ferrari ONE 200 only has the XGP port, maybe don't have the external GPU box now.

Now in saudi the Amilo sa 3650 is very cheap, it's only 2999 SR.( I bought it at 3299 SR) (AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-86/500 GB hard disk/4 GB memory)

Guys, i thing i made a mistake with GPUz. It's shows that the clocks are reduced to half, but when i run 3Dmark06 the score is same like on Vista with correct drivers. That's mean thous drivers are running on Win7_64bit and you have the same performance like before. You can over clock it if you want with AMD GPU Tools.

Some quistions about this notebook I hope the owners of this notebook answer it (I am asking about the 2.44 Ghz processor model )
1#Can this notebook run the new nfs shift with max settings smoothly?
2#Is it good for audio production ==>programs like reason 4.0,cubase,fl studio,... etc?
3#The sound of the built in speakers >> is it loud enough like for example the old dell inspiron 6400?
4#The wifi connection >> is it fast enough and can catch the signal from far places for example 20m?
5#The paint of the case >> is it good enough and can not be scratched easily?
thanks a lot and sorry for my bad english :D

    For your question:
    1. You can't play Need For Speed Shift with max setting. Don't forget this laptop is an old one now. Released 2008.
    2. For audio production, i can't answer you exactly, cause don't know about thous programs. Amilo sa 3650 comes with S/PDIF connection and have 24bit onboard sound card.
    3. Loudspeakers
Both speakers on the front side edge of the notebook threw their acoustic waves in an angle towards the surface and because of that sounded somewhat muffling and indirect. Basically, their sound, in comparison to other 13" class colleagues, can be rated as very good. (source from notebookcheck.net)
    4. The wireless card is perfect. wireless LAN module of the type Atheros AR5008X (WLAN b/g/n, up to 300 Mbit/s) and have good range.
    5. The quality is not like DELL or IBM, but is good enough. You have the quarantine from Siemens.

#1 Not whit max settings.. but if you skip some Anti analysing it is indeed runabble in very good quality... i tried with everything on high, and AA.. think it was like 10-15fps - a bit lacky but it ran ;)

#2 i only tried Audacity and it works fine.. not tried Cubase yet

#3 The sound isnt good, but its acceptable.. and compared to others in the same size, its quite good..

#5 The best thing about the material - its not a fingerprint magnet compared to Dell etc... only the black material at the sides and the screen..

    Thanks a lot for the answers #arrostos & #kunddizzle :)
actually the sound card is not important cause I am using an external sound module for audio production (M-Audio ProFire610).
Forget to ask about the firewire port >>it must be TI chipset (TI=Texas Instruments) to allow my external sound module to work If someone have these kinds of firewire sound module pleas tell us if its works perfectly and if someone have M-audio 610 tell about the value of the latency in any audio production software in use.
Thanks a lot and again sorry for my bad english

#1: yes it could run on need for speed shift smoothly i could say, i didnt encounter any issue.
#2: not have tried it since im not familiar on those programs.
#3: yeah, i could say that the speaker of the laptop is ok. ive not compared it to dell inspiron but other hp models i had and im satisfied with its sound quality.
#4: the wifi connection is also good. i can manage to connet to our cafe (antamedia hotspot) which is more than 20 m away from my room.
#5: it really depends on your handling. if you keep extra care then you should not worry to much.

    indeed, on the internal screen.
I just wanted to add something. It's really hard to find actually a GPU as powerful as this HD3870. You have to know, only the HD4850/70 and GTX260/280M are more powerful.
It's a really great computer, except for strategy games, due to a poor clocked CPU.
