It's really a shame that the XGP is "dying"...
I really like the concept. Actually it's brilliant. All my friends were very surprised by the booster's gaming performance.
Still can't get it... even 3D TVs are booming (3D is soooo overrated -.-)

For the pricee I paid, the XGP makes my laptop superb, I mean look at my benchmark, no way that any 13 or 14 inch can get the same bench mark....

Sounds very intresting, thanks fo rmaking them available!

But do you have those available for download somewhere else too? I'm not able download them from megaupload currently.

Do they work for you? How did you merge them?

    Hi,
Finally I got the time to test fantoniman's merged drivers.
I uninstalled the 10.5 Catalyst and used driver sweeper.
    Then I installed the Driver.
And it works great. Internal boosting works just fine :)
I don't know how you made it, fantoniman, but thank you very much!
A while ago, I also tried to figure out a way to do the exact same thing, but I am no expert and failed xD

So it would be great if you could explain how you managed to merge the drivers so that future Catalyst version can also be modified for internal boosting.
Maybe you could even do a version of the 10.6 Catalyst?

With which windows are u using those drives? I am using win7 homepre 64bit and the drives did not work with my set. First I managed to install them, but GB didn't start working. Then I tried again, but then windows couldn't start either 3780 nor 3200 saying the drives didn't have valid digital signature. =/ Any ideas?

Weird... actually I'm running Win7/64Bit ultimate. Fantoniman's version works just fine. Don't have a clue what might causing you problems :-/
If uninstalling the ATI drivers (maybe use a Drivercleaner to get rid of the remains) completely doesn't solve that I'm out of ideas. I wouldn't recommend reinstalling Windows just for that ^^

Ok, I got the drivers working by disabling digital verification of drivers in windows start up. What is strange, that with these drivers HD3870 specs are shown incorrectly like with drivers that FS provides.

ok, i managed to download/install it.
here is what i did to get it working with Windows 7 x64 ultimate:
    -download fanto's driver
    -uninstall all drivers
-use driver sweeper to delete absolute everything
-download a boot-loader to modify win 7 boot to allow digitally unsigned drivers
(otherwise you would have to choose this option every time you boot, or the driver would not work)
-install fanto's driver while the XGP is connected.
    - inner lcd graphic boosting works!!! yeah! :)

Can you see the screen with flaslight? If you can, replace the LCD cable and inverter (easier to do them both at once).

    Hello people!

I've been struggling with the same graphic booster problem for a while too and boy was I thrilled when I saw fantoniman's upload. I pressed the link only to find out that the file is not there anymore. Does anyone have another link for the file (already tried googling) or the possibility to upload it somewhere again? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

I'm on it give me ~20mins then I'll post the link...
BTW. if anyone is interested Fujitsu (Germany) fixed my Booster's fan, but a month later it went completely defect (got a bluescreen while playing [as if I disconnected it while in use])... it didn't initialize anymore and bugged Windows. Fujitsu also fixed that, but it had the same defect after only one weekend. Now I'm waiting for UPS to pick the booster up once again ^^

    There you go 10.4 REUP

Got it installed and I was really hopeful but the problems didn't disappear...

It's weird. Whenever I run a game it might start ok with high fps and work smoothly for a couple of mins and then the fps suddenly dives to less than 10. I've been tracing the problem and noticed that at the same time the processor usage leaps to 100% as if it would start to render the graphics with the processor. What also supports that theory is that for example in starcraft 2 the fps with the internal Hd 3200 is about 10-15. When starting the game using the XGP it's around 60, but after the dive happens (it does every time) the fps is about 5.

I've been trying different display setups, boosting the internal display as well as running the games in an external display with no luck. The games I've tried it with are Starcraft 2, Trackmania nations and Sins of a solar empire. I'm currently using windows 7 ultimate 64bit with the 10.4 merged drivers.

Anyone else experienced problems like this? Any ideas?

Several people, including me, had that same problem. You might want to monitor your CPU speed and temperature. Most likely the notebooks heat-pipe is blocked with dust causing the CPU to overheat and clocking itself all the way down to minimum performance.
Just open the cover at the bottom of the notebook and remove the dust. Some people also let Fujitsu do that because of the warranty, but since there is no seal which would be broken I did it myself.
If you have thermal-paste at hand you could also replace the old one in the Notebook. I didn't use new thermal-paste and the notebook still works fine (Except of the Booster :p)

I don't think it's a temperature problem. I've been monitoring the temperatures and they peak around 80 degrees which should be within safe range. I recently cleaned the processor cooler and replaced the thermal compound which lowered the temperatures by almost 10 degrees.

I'll try again with cpu-z running in the other windows to see if the clocks change and report back. Again, thanks for the quick reply :)

Pistolingo, you were right. The performance drop was due to the cpu clocking itself all the way back to 525MHz! According to CPUID HWMonitor, the core temperatures were around 62 at the time though. Is there a way around the automatic clocking?

EDIT: Another weird thing. After quitting the game the core speed stays at 525MHz. I tried starting some other heavier apps and games and it didn't change as it should. going to silent mode and back seemed to normalize the behaviour though (not 100% sure it was because of that, might have just happened around the same time).

    That really is weird...
If there was a way around the automatic clocking I wouldn't disable it because if it really overheats the CPU might get damaged...
Did you try to change the Windows energy plan so that the CPU always is clocked to 100%?

If there is a way to disable the auto clock I could run some stress tests and see if the temperatures stay within safe ranges.

Another weird thing about it is that it only happens when the graphics booster is connected. I can play lighter games with the internal graphics adapter just fine. We're making good progress. Any more ideas?

I don't think there is a way to disable the auto clock since it's a kind of "security feature"... I don't think the auto clock is to blame.
Hm maybe the Graphicbooster is overheating? Or have you already checked the fan for dust? Or the Graphicboosters fan is broken or damaged?
You could check if the Booster's fan works accordingly to the applied load...

Yeah I'm pretty much out of ideas...

I've kept an eye on the temperatures of the graphics booster and it looks ok, but it might lie if the censor is out of place and the cooler has loosened or something. I'll try to open the booster and see if I can find something. Strange that it affects the processor's speed though.

Thanks for your help pistolingo. I'll let you know if I manage to track down the cause. Luckily the warranty period doesn't end before next summer so I can try to get it fixed by fujitsu if nothing else helps.

It's in repair right now. It took three weeks and a few calls till they noticed that their service partner marked the repair as already done and therefore UPS did not pick up the booster. Hopefully it'll be really fixed this time :p

Hello pistolingo, I am now experiencing exactly same kind of problems with the graphic booster.

Fan goes wild everytime I plug power in the unit. Not even connected to laptop the fan starts to blow air as crazy.
Edit: That is not a problem, but when I turn off the laptop, the graphic boosters fan stays on for ever. It wont stop until I unplug the power.

Now going to Fujitsu service, lets see how long my booster repair takes time :)

Yeah the fan also got me freaked out :p
Fujitsu fixed that one just fine. Didn't even take two weeks :)
Got my Booster back today. They say the Booster isn't broken, but changed the Booster's "mainboard" anyways. They claim to have put the Booster to a 72hour stress test and say they didn't find anything.
Still got the same issues with my PC locking up when plugging in. And I noticed that if I have the Booster plugged in the PC will get a "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE"-Bluescreen after about half an hour... wierd the Booster worked for 2 days the last time they changed the "mainboard" and now it doesn't o_O

Either it's really some kind of driver issue and I should reinstall Win7 or my cable and/or Notebook is fried :-/
Going to call support once again maybe they have some advice.

Now I have to send the Notebook to Fujitsu. Seems like the DVD Drive is broken. I would like to throw that piece of !*#? out of the window  .
Just wanted to reinstall Windows 7 when the Setup froze and I had to interrupt the setup with rebooting. Since then it does no longer recognize ANY! DVD and makes unhealthy noises :-/
Also the discs have a strong resistance when pushing them in. Think there's something wrong with the mechanism.
Luckily I bought myself an other notebook a few days ago which should arrive next week.
If Fujitsu can't fix it this time this will be my last Fujitsu Notebook ever >_<

whay I managed to install Windows7 via an external DVD Drive my brother bought some time ago.
And now the Graphicbooster actually IS working again. It seems like it has been a software problem after all o_O
    Hopefully it keeps working.

What is the least Catalyst version you guys mnanaged to install while maintaining the ability to boost the internal screen?
Tried to combine the newest 10.12 driver with the Catalyst Control Center of fujitsu's "internal-display-boosting"-Driver. Since then CCC is lacking most of the options, but the xgp option worked. At least till I rebooted, then it was gone.
I guess the missing options are due to the different arrangement of the CCC files in the new version :-/

I got something for you folks you could try for me.
I merged 10.12 for internal boosting.
You might try if it works for you.
Please READ and FOLLOW the instructions included in the download.
It's for 64bit only and the driver is still displayed as the old even though it should be the new:
    DL (INCLUDING INSTRUCTIONS)
The installation needs a little bit more then just running the installer, so please read those instructions ;)
Basically I wrote the instructions the way I got the driver to work. Could also work with a different procedure. Just give it a try...

Tell me if it works =D

Noticed some stability issues with the merged drivers. Had 3 or 4 bluescreens until now. None while gaming though :p
Think I'm going to get the normal drivers since I don't really need internal boosting.

Still running the 10.4 merge driver, any difference between the new one vs old one?

Hello, I recently upgraded my OS from vista to windows 7 and problem is, the fan touch music touch keys are no longer working anymore. And also some of the FN keys. Thanks

You need to install the Launch Manager. Can be found under "Tools and Utilities" on the Fujitsu driver site. Or try clicking HERE.
