It's not for sale in the USA AFAIK.
Your only chance right now is to contact European sellers and see if they'll ship you one.

On a swedish site (SweClockers.com) they say that with the new drivers the booster works with the internal display.
Link
They say that they have tested them selfs...
Edit: The thread was based on a review of the Amilo and it was the editor who wrote that they have tested it.

Hmmm, translation could be messed up too, is it in the forum part of the link?
-
http://xi0.info/first-tests-amilo_4611.html
check this out... an old one but it is say about cross Display... -
I finally found the reference where someone said it worked and its not convincing. They just say it works and its been tested, but no other details.
I'm surprised the links even open at my work
Why is there no mention of it in any other real articles, or on Fujitsu's or AMD's websites. And I went through the 9.1 release notes and there is nothing related to making cross display work, nothing PowerXpress or Hybrid XfireX related, so I dont see that it was a driver solution that made it work. Maybe they got a new system with different hardware too. Maybe the catalyst 9.1 release notes just left it out. I hope it works, but I'm still skeptical.
We have people here that own one and can try the new drivers, which are released. -

I can give you a translation:
I den senaste drivrutinen som tillhandahölls nu i januari fungerar det alldeles utmärkt att använda GraphicBooster-enheten för accelerering på den interna skärmen. Detta har givetvis testats
In the latest driver that was released now in January it´s working great to use the GraphicBooster-unit to accelerate the internal display. This has of course been tested
This was in reply to me asking if they really meant that they could boost the internal display and if they really had tested it and not just read about that it should have worked.
If you want to ask any specific questions to the author of the test I would be happy to post them on your behalf.
The easiest way would be for someone here to uninstall the old drivers and install the new and just try it.
By the way this is not some obscure site, its a well respected swedish overclocking site so I find your criticism uncalled for. -
What criticism? OMG go get all sensitive.
-
So can somebody that owns it tells us:
1) If it works?
2) How well it works?
3) Works easily? Just uninstall the old drivers, install the new, configure the program and voila?
4) Any other comments regarding this -
It was a one sentence answer with no explanation, how can that be convincing. Do you expect me to know every person on a forum which I cant read and the person that made the comment and how great they are. I wouldnt accept that answer from the rocket scientists I work with.
Im surprised it worked because they block most internet sites at my work, sorry YOU misunderstood the point, more than half the internet it seems, if it has to do with entertainment or email or something, and this forum is one of a few I can actually get to. It has nothing to do with the Swedish site, and was supposed to be a joke since I was looking it all up while at work.
And it was a forum with the reference, not a published article, maybe YOU dont understand that.
I dont understand your point. keep your derogative comments to yourself. -
Anyone load up the new drivers yet to test cross display???
Everyones still crossing their fingers -
tested with 9.1 but I've no found the cross display option
-
you can't test it if you don't have the cross Display cable... i think there is with 16 pin cable for that...
-
I know there were PCIE2.0 x8 ports and said to be PCIE2.0 x16 ports coming, but I never saw that the cable was different for using cross display on either, but who knows that could be the issue....
If no one can get it to work as no one has reported, there must be some hardware difference. -
Well maybe...
I send a mail to the german service center. Maybe I might get some information on this whole thing in a few days.
greetings -
Some more information:
Hej!
Jonas
Hello!
The driver AMD sent out was WHQL-certified with the version number 8.57 and dated 2008-12-09. The news in just this version was support for "Cross Display", which allows the laptops own screen to be used together with the XGP-unit. This was tested in several games without any at all problems.
Fujitsu-Siemens have oddly enough not put this new version on their website.

Jonas

I think that we without a doubt can say that it works to boost the internal display, the only "problem" is to find the 8.57 driver dated 2008-12-09.
Edit:
Somebody try these files:
Vista 32

Xp 32

I don't take any responsibility for any potential loss of information or damage to your computer when you try this.
This thread might be of interest if you try to use these files:

There are no install file with the packages above, you need to apply some of the thing called skill
Edit:
Try this link, this is the file that Sweclockers used instead of the ones above.

The 9.1 catalyst notes dont mention cross display
-
Not 9.1 but some sort of 8.57 driver that isn't released publicly but leaked on a few sites (see my link)
This below is the same file that Sweclockers used and got working so anybody who owns it try for themselves at their own risk:
http://www.megaupload.com/se/?d=M21LDFZS -
well if you read the 9.1 catalyst notes it is a combination of 8.573 driver and the CCC. Its just called 9.1 suite.
-
It also sounds more like a hardware issue than a soft- or firmware problem but if they are really working on that maybe there will be a successor
greetings -
Nice!! tested it's work !!you can found beta drivers here too

Nice now we can put this to rest, IT WORKS
-
One second guys... why in the CCC it is showing the external display and not internal of laptop display?
is not a cross Display on it own laptop display how i see... right? -
Maybe it can boost both the internal and the extra display that you can connect to the notebook? (there are green arrows)
// Daniel -
I've tested it and it work ! the graphic booster is use in the laptop screen
-
awesome
thx for the info
Would have bought the notebook either way but now that I know it works I do not have to be afraid of my old 19" screen saying farewell -
Well, patator can you make some screen shoots for some games and show us how is working...
I am going to buy too this one -
Glad it works, if no other laptops surface with XGP in the next several months and a xfire HD4870 graphics booster gets into development this may become my desktop gaming replacement.
-
-
Well I already have a laptop and a decent enough desktop, so I dont need anything until it really impresses me. If I were to build a new tower I would make it xfire 4870s, so only if I can get that in the XGP would I buy another laptop.
And more manufacturers might adopt XGP now that Cross Display works and AMD's license for exclusivity runs out soon enough, so Nvidia can take advantage of it and Intel. -
Anyone have any idea when we see a 4870 X2 or just a 4870 along side the sa 3650?
-
Well, if to think logically, there is no laptop with series 4xxx for now, if they came out, then and XGP will come out too with 4xxx series... it is my logically...
The question is: Will be there other manufactures that will bring new laptops with that connection port and when...? -
Yes I surely hope so. But can anyone make it clear if the current PCI 2 8 bit connection on the sa 3650 is enough to handle the data amount from ex. a HD 4870? or this could be the bottle neck.
-
-
THere is a x16 cable, but you also have to have the x16 port on the laptop, and that part is a 52mm wide compared to 32mm, and there usually isnt room on a 13" for a long port.
PCIE2.0 x8 is the equivalent bandwidth of PCIE1.1 X16. Additionally the xfire between the GPUs would not travel across the x8, as in the XGP box there would be x16 between the GPUs, and then x8 to the laptop, so there should be enough bandwidth in x8 to handle a xfire setup when only possible to run at 1280x800. When using an external display it wouldnt travel back to the laptop anyway. So x8 should be enough to feed the GPU and transfer back the display data to 1280x800.
Now if you have a 17" 1920x1200 then youre going to need more bandwidth to the laptop and would necessitate the x16 port and cable. -
Sounds good. but do anyone know if they are developing this? would be a shame if not, but AMD are off cause under some sort of pressure caused by their bad economy.
-
I think AMD already developed it, but I'm not sure they will make a Graphics Booster themselves, need a manufacturer to pick it up, but with only one laptop so far, it might be a while unless Fujitsu sells a ton of them.

Just read AMD's own white paper on it where it shows the difference in the x8 and x16 connector. All that means is that the graphics booster will work on a x8 or a x16 laptop port if you have the right cable or adaptor. That doesnt mean all the laptop ports are capable of x16.

Hello
I' just have tested 3Dmark06 with the graphic booster in crossdisplay mode
The notebook is like at the origin. same OS , Same partition. Only a data restore was runing in the back but don't use lot of CPU. I've the ZM82 mobile turion and 4GO but Vista 32 .
Drivers are the beta given by another member of the forum .Attached Files:

Nice Score, impressive, imagine if yours had come with the ZM-86

What do you mean? Do you have benchmarks with ZM86? The numbers you put up are considerable difference. Do we have 3dmark06 scores of a ZM-86 + graphics booster?
