hmmm I have checked it. The name is the same but there some differences in size. I have the x64 in ghost image so I will have a try with this.

Is there any driver to make the cross-display to work in windows XP?
-
Hi All,
found this thread as being most thorough on FS Sa3650 and decided to post my query hereby.
Just recently bought a FS Sa3650 with graphicbooster, installed win7 RC and latest Catalyst drivers (9.7) on it. Got it connected over the HDMI on graphicbooster to my external HP2309m monitor.
Somehow I managed to force the resolution on external monitor to be over it's specs so now all i have on external monitor screen is "signal out of range - adjust settings to 1960x1080/60Hz".
Unfortunately, I also did designate the external monitor as primary display and the only one showing picture. So currently I have external monitor displaying the above described error message and laptop screen being blank.
I have re-installed the catalyst 9.7 (with prior cleaning all ATI soft from computer with Guru3D driversweeper), still the same problem.
Any advice there how to set the resolution back to the one which is acceptable by monitor?
Any advice is higly appreciated.
Lauri
PS. When I connect the ext monitor via graphicbooster on DVI it works fine but I still cannot see the way how to set the settings for HDMI connection there -
Hello Guys!
Recently I bought the sa 3650 + graphicbooster, but I have encountered some problems. The graphicbooster overheats, the fan is not running at all and when I play games, it runs for 1-2 min. then the booster shuts down.
I think the fan in the booster is defect, since I have never heard the fan running and it overheats.
When in a game there's a beeping noise from the booster but the fan is still not running.
The booster works when surfing the internet or writing in word (light tasks)
I have upgraded all drivers, bios etc. still no succes...
Can some of you guys tell me if the fan is noticeable when running?
Have any of you encountered a similar problem? -
Yeah sounds like your fan is broken. When I plug in the GB the fan turns on at full speed for a second and when playing games you I can hear and feel the airflow.

Thank you for the quick response pistolingo, good to know how it is supposed to react. Will contact FSC support first thing tomorrow, so I can get a new one.

Hi everyone,
Just bought this laptop, i tried to install Seven RC on it, but impossible for me to enable xgp on internal screen. I read that someone could. Maybe this one one should indicate a good procedure, even if ATi drivers are for ever so poor.
Thanks. -
Again:
Hi i am running the amilo sa 3650 on windows 7 ultimate 32bit. Does anyone where i can find the keyboard drivers? I cant control my brightness(fn+f8/9) and more important, i cant control both of the silent mode buttons (fn+f11, button top right). Would be nice if anyone could help me find them. I deleted my recovery partition :/
Would be awesome to get at least the silent mode working... -
Launch Manager drivers on FSC website work on mine.
-
Hi All,
I live in Canada, but was curious if this is even remotely possible to purchase this in North America? Does anyone know of a place where this is available?
Thanks! -
-
Pleasure ... reloading, someone can say us how to use Graphic Booster on internal screen on W7.
Thanks. -
Well the thing with Win7 is really weird. At first it took me a lot of installing and uninstalling until the internal screen could be boosted and then a few weeks later when I was finally in the mood to play some games the internal screen it was no longer boostable even though the option to boost the internal screen is selectable in the CCC. Well I tried to fix this through reinstalling the video drivers. No luck there. Somehow I feel like the Win7 display settings are superior to the settings in CCC.
The only solution I found to play games on the internal screen while using the booster is to boot vista and play there. Very annoying though...
It's very sad that there is so bad support from fuji/siemens. I expect those problems to be solved half a year after win7 is on the market or even never -.- -
-
We hace to work by ourselves, i'm new user of Ati - long time on nvidia - so i ll try to mod the .inf files.
Sorry for my english, i'm french. -
After a lot of fuss, I decided not to order this from the Ebay seller. After looking at AMEX and other Credit Cards' websites, I found that their extended warranties only cover items with warranties valid in the U.S.
-
Hi everyone,
First of all, I'm sorry if I'm asking a question that has already been answered.
I am thinking of buying an Amilo SA 3650 with a graphic booster, but I was wondering if it was possilbe to use the graphic booster on the laptop screen, or do you absolutely need to use an external screen with a higher resolution? If it workson the laptop screen, are there any special drivers you need to install/update?
Thanks a lot. -
Hi Carpe_diem
You do need to use the beta cross-display drivers (can be found here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=M21LDFZS or http://dl.free.fr/getfile.pl?file=/LiZe5PBD). I'm using the drivers with 64-bit Win7 RC 7100 with so far no major problems- I'll admit I had some difficulties setting it up, but now it's been running problem free for, I dunno... some months.
If you're going to use the same 64-bit W7 RC7100 as I am, you'll need to install an update supporting the XGP. I've posted a video on YouTube showing how ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZY8...0E35BDFD&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=16)
Performance wise I'd say that the cpu is a bit of a bottleneck, but games like Fallout 3 is running quite smooth at 1280x800 (laptop screen native resolution) with high quality. -
Thanks for your help.
But does it work on Vista (I'm lazy and I don't really feel like installing the Windows 7 beta for now)? Or do you need another driver? -
Yes. In fact the driver is made for Vista.
I would anyhow recommend that you use 64-bit W7 seeing how it's faster, better and etc.
And it's not beta, it's a release candidate - so it's not going to be drastically different from the final release version. And, for the months I've been using it - it has been stable and good. Plus it's free until the release. I'd say give it a go and I am confident you won't regret it. -
Do you know if we get a free Win 7 upgrade with this laptop (most companies are starting to give them now)?
-
Hey guys!
Did any one of you, tested the booster on Linux system? Does the newer kernel support it or not? And how to find out it?
Thanks. -
Win7 upgrade... I don't think so. Just imagine: they would have to make the cross-display driver work with Win7 to satisfy their customers. That jsut won't happen -.-'
-
Do you know where I can buy it for the cheapest? I found a german website selling it (with an AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-86 CPU) for 660 euros.
-
660 euro is a good price with the zm-86. They kind of stopped selling it in Sweden, but a couple of weeks ago the price was around 750 euro with the zm-81 (never sold it with zm-86 here).
Edit: They just started selling it here in Sweden with the zm-84. Priced around 1100 euro. -

Anyone heard any rumours of new cross-display driver? -
25€ for the upgrade. Probably the edition you could preorder for 50€ some time ago... Well better then nothing I guess.
Some rumours of a new version of the cross-display driver would be nice. Somehow I wonder what the difference between the "normal" drivers and the cross-display drivers are. The xgp option in the CCC is only dependend on the version of the driver. I wonder in what way the cross-display driver is different. Maybe it's just the inf files? Or maybe some minor changes in one of the driver files? -
Does any one know how to reduce the hyper memory? When i plug the booster, i got 1.4 GB of memory...
-
But isn't it the radeon 3200 that allocates the memory. When I run the computer without or without the booster I only have around 2300 MB to spare. This is the case even if i don't use the internal screen.
-
The question is, why there is no options to reduce the memory of hyper... so to have about 3gb or 3.5gb memory totally. I don't need 1.4Gb memory of graphic cart with GB...
-
Hi there!
I searched through the whole Internet for the Windows 7 with the GB cross driver Problem.
I installed Windows 7 RC 64 bit on my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Sa 3650.
I also have the CODE 10 problem in my device manager.
I already have the 8.57 driver and i read about the windows 7 update.
I searched in the Windows update catalog and downloaded one driver update.
But it seems, that i cannot install it. I launch the atibtmon.exe but it doesn't start.
Could someone help me?
Or could someone describe exactly how he downloaded the update and installed it?
Sorry for my little english. -
Hi there!
I've been looking everywhere to see where I can buy this computer (+ booster), but with little results. It seems that they are not shipped anymore to Sweden, or atleast not to any well-known stores with a reasonable price tag, so I'm wondering if you guys know any good international e-store who got em? As long as the language of the site can be changed to english and ships to Sweden I am happy with all tips. -
Guys / Gals,
Up to now, I haven't used my graphic booster in my laptop screen due to the following reasons:
The link http://www.megaupload.com/se/?d=M21LDFZS is URL block here at our area while the link ftp://ftp.fujitsu-siemens.com/nlo/8.57-WHQL-S13-081209a-074069C-Fujitsu_Siemens_Computers.zip is having a different language which I'm not accustomed.
Could somebody out there assist me? Appreciate any help from you guys! -

Hello,
Glad to have discovered this thread where I may be able to get some answers the Fujitsu supporters are unable to supply.
My girlfriend is interested in the 3650. Her main concern is noise levels when running at minimum load with silence mode enabled. Basically, she wants to know whether it will be bothersome in terms of fan noise etc when attending classes at university, operating just simple tasks like word processing or other Office programs. Whether it is loud or not when gaming is of far less concern.
Also, there was a mention of a 'clacking' noise when typing. Is this a big issue with the 3650?
Basically, can you recommend this laptop for study use? Obviously, there are alternatives but the gfx booster is kind of intriguing, as well.
I have scoured this thread and did not find an adequate response to this specific issue and would be delighted if anybody could help us out.
Many thanks in advance! -
arrostos,
Managed to ask my friend to download it and send it to me by flash drive. Finally, I'm enjoying the benefit of the external graphic booster. Just in case I'm surfing, is it ok if I don't plug in the socket of the booster even thou it is attached in the laptop? I was thinking that the booster might take some power on my laptop that will cause system issue. Coz as of now, if the booster is attached in the laptop, I'm also plugging it on the outlet.
HenrikSH,
Base on my observation, the normal running of fan in the 3650 will not bother you at all, much more if you activate the silent mode.
The clacking sound that they've mentioned previously is observed in the middle of the keyboard, it seems that there is no strong support on the middle. But I don't think its a big deal at all, as for me it does bother me when typing.
Study, Office, Business - it should be fine. But don't expect too much on the battery life, it could sustain more than 2 hours only without power from outlet. -
I don't fink so that it will cause system issue. It got it own power and own fan for cooling. You can have it plugged every time... You can have on battery mode your laptop with GB on it, it will no cause system issue. Don't forget, GB got own power and fan for cooling. -
-
-
By the way, why the rams are not on dual channel? What if put on it dual channel? Will boos performance or not? And what the difference between Dual and Single channel on Sa3650?
-
One more fink i noticed that, the silent mode doesn't work without launch-manager... It shouldn't work on BIOS like DVD eject?
-
I also had quite a pain to get graphics booster working in Windows 7 as it seems that the driver mentioned in earlier posts was not listed in windows update anymore. However the driver is still downloadable from url (only accessible by internet explorer): http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=mobility radeon 3870 windows 7
64bit version: ATI Technologies Inc. - Display - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 Windows 7 Client Drivers (Other Hardware) 4/27/2009 8.612.0.0 18.4 MB
32bit version: ATI Technologies Inc. - Display - ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 Windows 7 Client Drivers (Other Hardware) 4/27/2009 8.612.0.0 9.7 MB
The other versions did not work, just gave the same old device could not start error. After installing that driver the booster came alive and I was able to update to newest catalysts, though it seems that only notebooks internal graphics driver was updated. I did this on 64bit Windows 7 RTM and only updated to Catalyst 9.9 but I suppose that this would work on 32bit 7 also. Will have to test the beta driver that lets graphics booster boost laptops own screen, but that will be some other day =) Hopefully this helps some of you having the same issue. -
my roommate is an avid fan of counterstrike (lolz). when he plays the said game it hangs after 15 to 20 seconds and for about 1 minute or 1 1/2 minutes it resumes again. does my system have any problem like busted video graphic. take note that i have plug my booster and using the 8.57 driver.
incidentally, i'm playing the ghost recon 2 and i never experienced such hang. i dont see any problem on the fan of the booster as it is running well during both occassions.
hope that you could shed a light on this issue. -
Btw, I am using 8.59 drivers for my CrossDisplay.
Something else. Why ATI/AMD does not make any official drivers for corssDisplay and with newer drivers? It's seems they don't care about this, and so Fujitsu corporation... -
I have encountered a weird problem when moving from Vista to Windows 7, I have figured out how to get 7 to recognise both graphic devices, but I just can't get the Catalyst control center to find the graphicbooster. It shows both HD3200 and HD3780 in the tray icon, but the screen with accelerate internal monitor is not present and neither the XGP when I plug it in. Have anyone got the booster up and running with tests like 3dmark?
At the moment I dualboot Vista and 7, to play games on Vista and ordinary stuff on 7, but anyway it's quite annoying. Do someone have a guide to how they got the booster to actually work in 7 and not just recognise the graphic devices?
By the way I AM using the Beta drivers from Fujitsu's forum. I'm running x64. -

Hi guys,
can anyone tell me if its possible to downclock internal HD3200 and/or overclock external 3870 in (Fujitsu's) win Vista, because I Installed Win 7 64b on my Sa 3650 recently and I can't test it now...
Thanks.
P.S: Sorry for my terrible English. -
Also if you lookup the driver for Radeon HD3870 which date was it released and which version is it?
Regards Casper. -
kinda off topic topic but, my fujitsu siemens seems incapable of playing music, the computer starts by having cut offs in the sound, then it freezes and most of the time goes to a BSOD, and sometimes it happens as well when I'm playing games, but I only play games with the XGP unless it's not hardcore games
thanks for the help -
Hmm, sounds unhealthy... have you tried with a recovery it sounds like there's some kind of conflict in the operating system.
