I think is as high as I can go. -
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
So finally after a month of thinkering I nailed out my stable OC, at least under Bf3.
Strange thing is that I can go up with VRAM as much as I want but if I do with core it gives me problems.
16F2 has this big issue, the laptop shutsdown under certain conditions, and that would be when I clock the core above 910mhz.
So now I just did a 1 hour BF3 at 900/1500 and no issues so far, this with CPU OCed and ram OCed.
Tried even both stock, it was fine for a while, then still It shutdowns
Whatever I think it's a pretty nice OC for my needs, as long as I can do 50fps of average in bf3 at ultra w/o AA but post AA to max I'm fine.
For other titles I don't need OC at all so far.
Maybe it's a matter of drivers since I've been reading that a lot of people's are forced to bring down their previous stable 12.5 OC with official 12.7 set.
Anyway
But if I overvolt and bench at 1000/1550 like I did its fine even in vantage.
Let's say it's not when gaming lol.
Pretty nice for a machine that has no reason to support 7970m at all. -

Hi ppl,
I OCed my HD 7970M to 1055/1500 with stock voltage and it gives me this score:
AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P6860 3DMarks
Is it good? Perhaps I can push the core a little bit higher but I don't wanna risk it ^^; So far I can play stable with these clocks (example Metro 2033).
GPU reached 78ºC but my room temp was 28ºC (it was 38ºC outside...).
Btw ULPS enabled and Core parking is also enabled.
Thank you,
Best Regards to all -
That is not a good card, it's an exceptional one mate! Congrats and you have nothing to worry about

I believe that if I overvolted I could reach much higher and stable clocks, but I'm scared to flash a brand new card... so perhaps later (in a year or so lol ).

Hey Guys,
I only can max out my card to 935/1450
in 3dmark11.Gpu Score 6088 Points.
Is something wrong?
I use Dell driver and Enduro is disabled!
Thanks -

Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
I can bench at 980/1550 with stock vbios, or 1000/1500 with overvolted 1,075 and hitting p6800.
However having the card stable is another thing.
I had to downvolt it to 1,025 to have it running at 930/1430 fine.
Otherwise I'm only able to stay stable at 900/1500 with stock.
As I said I suspect that those not lucky cards have the ASIC below 70%, which means not a good overclocker at all.
Usually these comes from first batch produced (dell) that somewhat faced similar stability issues as Clevo (they recalled the cards, infact). -

Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
Take what I said as a grain of salt, I'm not telling you that it's how it works.
But - by taking a look at ASIC tests with some friends that happen to have the 7970m since the beginning - along with problems when ocing - I made such assumption.
Im basing it on the data I gathered, but as I said, I'm far to say that it works this way. -
Which gpu-z version do you use?

Last one, it was released yesterday.

So my stable overclocking for games is 900/1300 Mhz.
All Games run smooth and without any problems.
My Stock Driver from Dell works fine.
Btw my Asic Quality is shown 82.1!
I think it doesn´t mean so much for overclocking.

Hi ppl,
I did some new benchmarks today at 1055/1500 (GPU-Z as proof in attachment):
Unigine Heaven Benchmark v3.0 Basic (see attachment)
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat (see attachment)
3DMark Vantage - AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3610QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx score: P22144 3DMarks
All tests went smooth and very stable.
ASIC quality - 76,8% (I don't find this reliable at all...)
I think that 3DMark vantage is too low compared to other users, eg Meaker on first post.
Did I do something wrong? Or is it just underperforming and I should rerun the benchmarks again?
Thank you,
Best Regards to allAttached Files:

meaker has tweaked the hell out of numerous aspects of his computer... i wouldnt use him as a basis to compare to lol. id say thats right around what id expect.

The 7970M in the first post was a dell card which overclocked great and was not held back by enduro, comparing the clevo cards to it is almost unfair

So what do y'all think of this one? I think this is around 1000/1500. I will push for more tomorrow.

Btw ppl I spent almost 3hs straight playing Metro 2033 (DX11 - Very High w/ DOF&Tess Off = 60fps) at 1055/1500, without any prob
Since my room is so damn hot (more than 29ºC inside, both me and my wife are in underwear...), it reached 92ºC kicking another fan speed which sent it back to 89ºC.
After this trial I decided to remove the bottom cover and at 1055/1500 it doesnt pass 81ºC(avg: 77ºC).
So I believe that when I change house (very soon) I will have normal room temps (22-24ºC), which will make my pretty 7970M work way below 90ºC
PS: I'm still below the 200hs cure time of Arctic Silver 5, so I expect to lower 1-2ºC
Best Regards to all -
Nicely done mental! Can you try out BF3 in similar condition?
-

I can try but only in single player...since I don´t own the game

Okay...this is the best I could do!!! I tinkered for 3 hours. 1050/1590. I think it's pretty darn good for clevo/enduro on stock volts.

Very odd since I even tried kombustor and furmark at these clocks and it never went down
