I thought you were going to get a pwnage desktop? lol

Edit: I thought you guys should know this is laptop #5 since last september..... -
omg omg omg
Anyone have gateway with better proc. !?!!? who can rebench? please
If the NP5793 is as big and weighs as much as the gateway,.... I might just get the NP5793
BWHXEON I am almost entirely depending on you:/
-
Did not install FRAPS to screen. So, with narsnail's screen shot;
(T9300 in black, no OC, same settings used by narsnail -all MAX)
32 >38
68 >73
152 >160
Distribution:
0% below 25% 0%
13% between 25 and 40 FPS 8%
87% above 40 FPS 92%
I would say this game is GPU limited as well. This games runs SOOOO much better than my 7900GS in E1705 -
-
Not kidding, same settings as U used!
-
-
LOL, well when bwhxeon gets that bad boy Clevo, well have to see what the extra pipes will do.
-
-
So im guessing CPU did affect it in some way... And if I am doing video encoding etc... the T9300 will tear up the T5250 -
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=218971
As far as video encoding; to encode a DVD to my PSP takes near 5 hours with 2 pass encoding using a T2400, about 3.5 hours with the T5450 and 2.6 hours with the T9300. Encoding to AVC/H264 sucks! -

Being in Australia, I'm wondering what currency that is, so I can see if these guys are charging too much. AU$3739 with T9300 and 2GB RAM which seems a bit excessive...? -
-
>.> I sure hope who ever was going to buy a p-6831fx got one already, because at this point you can't even order it online.
-
-
Can anyone post some screens on AOE III? with the card. If they're 40-50 fps, i'm getting that damn thing!
-
-
Only game this laptop won't max is Crysis. Right high-med settings will net you 30ish fps.
It will run WIC at max setting with DX10. -
Narsnail, or anyone else that has overclock/benched their gpu. I was wondering if any of you guys have monitored your gpu temps while benching/gaming? At stock settings (500/799) I ran a 3 time loop with the
3DMark06 test and watched my gpu temp crank up to 75c. With an overclock of 600/900 my temps jumped to an ( IMHO ) all too hot 86c. Have any of you noticed this and what are your thoughts on this? -
High Temps, extra strain on the AC/DC adapter are some of the OC "way of life". My 7900gs had a slow protect of 100C, not sure on our 8800m. There is also the question of volt modding the GPU for higher clocks.
My biggest hang up is killing the GPU which is supposed to be soldered onto the mother board. So, how high you want to go? -
I don't want to kill the GPU, I'm big into overclocking, but that's mainly on my desktop GPU and modified cooling . I'm more concerned with the stock settings of the laptop's 8800GTS and a temp of 75C after 3 benchmark tests in a row. It just seems rather high IMO.
Maybe I should not be concerned at all. I know that laptops have nowhere near the cooling capacity that desktops can have. My desktop gpu ( 7900GT KO ) is OC'd at 650/1600 with modified cooling, but it does not go beyond 65C, and that's after 2 hrs of gaming online in COD4. -
-
I have not hit higher than 70C with small OC at this date in time. I read that the 8800GTS is supposed to be TDP of 35 watts and we only have a single pipe. I would, IMHO, not OC anything higher than 75C as long as our 120 watt supply does not complain too much.
We need a laptop water block mod -
HEHE..laptop water blockWould be sweet to see some type of modded laptop cooling, but then portability would probably go right out the window.
-
My GPU hits 65-70C after playing Crysis. Dont think it went over 70C. Mainly depending on my ambient room temperture. It gets pretty chilly here in the mornings, like 15C

Narsnail, when you get a new ac adaptor, let me know as to what kind, and where you got it from pls.
-
-
BIOSHOCK added
!
-
-
mine is the lower end model...probably saved a bit of money by putting in a lower ac adapter.
edit: o wait so is yours! i dont know then :S -
Interesting, I purchased the same one you did, at BB, I did my own cpu upgrade, but I would think we'd have the same AC adapter.
-
i just assumed it was the 90watt one, i will double check.
-
So... I kind of decided to go ahead with the P-6831FX...
Please oh please tell me the $1199 price is still in effect tomorow...
I have researched about upgrading the T5450... so you unsrew the stuff and apply thermal paste (which ones best? AS5?) and then you shut her up and BOOM... buuut... any BIOS upgrades needed? Will it just boot and im ready to go? -
The price will still be effective tomorrow. Being instock may be the problem.
There are a few spots in the forum on how to upgrade the cpu, it's quite simple, I used AS Ceramique, AS5 is fine also. Once installed, your system will find it, no need for a bios update, Vista will find it and require you to reboot the system. That's it. -
I will still have to see...
I dont really know how much power I will need...
I am getting a rain check on wednesday because the price of $1199 will be effective until saturday. And they have deliveries comming on tuesday. So I HOPE I get mine on wednesday.
If it doesnt have the power I will get the FX7024 because its Q6600 and 8800gt for $1000 is a bargain. and it will tear up anything I throw at it. Apparently they say the 8800gt is OC'ed so that may be the problem people are having with the heat. I will then just upgrade the cooling or so. And again... $1000 WOW... Or am I completely wrong?
And I get destktop power>NP5793 AND aP-6831 for on the go at the same price as NP5793
When im on the go my P-6831 should do the job. Its just a bit thinner than my sisters dell 1520 I believe and it has roughly 4-6 times the power
I need a laptop no matter what, but getting this P-6831FX for $1199, which is almost as cheap as a dell but with lots more power. T9300 upgrade will only be $300 in a while. -
Personally, I would build my own desktop before I'd purchase the FX7024, you can find the parts and build it cheaper, and have the choice of what you want in the system instead of buying prebuilt. That's just my 2 cents though, I love building PC's.
-
Q6600
8800gt OC'ed
3gb ram
500gb hdd
Sweet case matching my (hopefully soon) P-6831FX
All that for less than the FX7024 for $967 online? or $1000 at best buy? come on...
MOBO, CPU, GPU, PSU, RAM, HDD and Casing would run up pretty fast and it wont even have Vista on it... thats probably going to cost me what... $200-300 on top of my build -

Wow those shots look great! I'am going to reinstall it, I played it on a Toshiba SLi1, not the FX frame rates look much higher than the Toshiba's. Did you kill a Big Daddy yet? Those things are tough to kill. Also Bioshock screenshots make great wallpaper.
-
it is very smooth you should deff re install, and yea i was thinking the same thing, the screens are awesome. -
Have been talking to another guy on a different forum who has the P-1683FX but he put in a X7800 tweaked to 3.0ghz and HD's in RAID 0 and he can't beat my 3DMark06 score, pretty strange since his CPU score is much higher and I'am not setup in RAID 0.
-
drivers? your just way cooler than him? the second one i think
-
HAHA! Thanks, I quit posting on that forum because he was getting pissed.
