A difference in syntethic benchmarks, not gaming. The difference is marginal.

T9300 3mb cache
T9500 6mb cache
If I am right...
But I personally believe T9500 + P-6831FX is the best bang for the buck ever.
And if you have the money just go ahead and stick the intel Extreme processor in it(X7900 or X900 or something along those lines... I forgot...)
-
T7700 4MB
T9300 6MB
T9500 6MB
and the an extreme CPU is an even BIGGER waste of money -
No sense in contradicting the troll. Remember Shrek ?
The T9300 is the best bang for the buck in Penryns.
The Extreme Cpus come with a high price tag,a small performance increase and bragging rights. Not worth it if you`re a casual gamer, even a daily one. -
x9000 is about $550 off eBay. 2.8 6mb cache
T9300 is $350 - 2.4 6mb cache
T8300 is $270 - 2.4 3MB Cache -
That just slipped my mind
I keep messing up T9500 with T9300 because T9300 is 2.5ghz... and so I associate it with T9500
yes T9300 is def. the best bang for the buck
And Lewdvig... T9300 is 2.5ghz -
UPDATE!:
Just switched to XP! I will be trying to redo all of the benchmarks, and see if there is a larger difference -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
it wouldnt be now since vista is close to xp in all benchmarks
unless your computer is crap -
I am noticing a small difference, not in the avg or max FPS, but the minimum is usually 3-4 FPS higher is seems.
I will try to have these up before the weekend. -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
you wouldnt see a big difference no more.
unless you're computer is crap i recommend everyone to switch to vista -
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i havent had that much of a driver issue
it has dx10
i lowered the security of uac
and i did some tweaks and noe i like vista but everyone has there choices -
my driver kep resetting every half an hour and i couldnt play games for more then 10 mintues, and tried every driver i could find....have had no problems in XP yet at all...
and yes i guess it is opinion.. -
UPDATE!
Call of Duty 4 added, as well as a description for XP World in Conflict -
Keep`em coming Narsnail. You`re doing an awesome job on the whole 8800M GTS case

Hi!
Thanks to a friend, I was able to try Assassin's Creed.
All maxed out on 1440x900 (except Post FX which I turned off) min FPS: 18 avg FPS: 28, max FPS is 46 in DX9 mode. (In DX10 -6FPS in everything)Personally I think the reason of the 18 FPS is because the T5450 wasn't really able to handle the big crowds, but with a higher (T7700, T9300) CPU and with a little VGA OC I think we can boost up the minimum FPS to at least 25.
But anyway, even with T5450 and without OC, Assassin's Creed runs great in DX9 mode. I will see how much FPS I get when I get my T7700 and 2x2GB G.Skill RAMs
In short, it runs much smoother than Cryisis
GJ Ubisoft !
Here are some pics:
p.s.: I used the default Gateway Foreceware 167.46 driver. -
-
-
I am also in the works of obtaining assassins creed, I will add that when i get it.
-
thank you for the Assassin's Creed SS, i was gonna ask narsnail to add them
And i'd also like to know how much FPS is increased with the recent T5550 1.86Ghz processor as well as T8300 and T9300 -
I have the same laptop but with the 2.0GHz T7250 and I get the following average scores:
DX10: 24.66
DX9: 28.20
And 50.26 with my x80r (X9000 and 8800GTX)! -

can you please review test drive unlimited for me please download the demo or get the real game doesnt matter I just really want to. Know how it will work
-
narsnail what driver version are you using for the 8800m gts, just picked up the new model and would like the video driver you used for xp.
-
why do my games have a maximum resolution of only 1024x768 (need for speed series, and fsx).
driver is 174.93.
and btw, rivatuner shows slow clocks (383 core, 767 shader, 301 memory, all under "performance 3d" but GPU-z shows correct clocks. am I missing something? -
wait, I just turned on hardware monitoring in rivatuner, now it shows higher than default clocks (550, 1350, 864). what the??
-
-
-
so how would you explain me having only 1024x768 max resolution in games?
-
its driver related. the drivers usually "tell" the games what resolution to let you choose. different drivers might resulted in different resolutions.

-
it's not surprising about your card since it's gs version with ddr2. and 8800m gtx is twice faster than the 8600 GT version with ddr3 -
I am now trying 169.28 for Vista x64
-
i have the 8600gs card with it's 16 shader proccess and the over clock record for that card as well, but it comes no where my 8800m gts! reason why that computer is up for sale now. and if the clevo would have had room for two drives, i think i might have heldout and gotten that one, but for now...the 8800m gts can run all games. (not to say at what resolution nor what detail level. just that it runs all games)
-
dang, still no luck... 169.28 leaves me stuck at 1024x768. any other suggestions? or perhaps a better driver for my 8800M GTS.
thanks -
are you sure that you reinstalling the driver correctly?
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i use 169.04
-
say, check to make sure your monitor doesn't have a question mark on it...
and what resolution is your desktop set to now? -
I'm using the native 1440x900 right now. there are no question marks except for "other devices -> unknown device" and nothing else.
can you guys give me your driver date for the monitor. I'll try 169.04.
thanks. -
hold on there speed racer... what's the unknown device for?....lol
-
i think it was this mouse... idk, lol. I'm sure it's not the monitor.
-
High Definition Audio Bus -- something like that. I disabled the device 5 minutes ago, then rebooted, then now the driver is installing. I don't know what;ll happen though.
-
alright, works for me then...was just checking...
well the stock drivers should have shown at a higher res than 1024x768. i check my other laptop and it goes to a max of 1440x900, but for games it goes 1378x768 max. -
I followed a post here that shows how to reinstall GPU drivers.
brief steps:
- disable GPU driver
- reboot
- allow Windows to install VGA adapter
- put .inf file in driver folder
- update driver by clicking the .inf file on Device Manager -
- disable is different with uninstall
- reboot in "safe mode" -
do really have to do it in safe mode?
-
i explained these very steps in another thread all with some else....darn....forgot which thread that was.... but you can do it without booting into safe mode.
-
open device manager
right click on 8800m gts and click update driver
click browse computer
click let me pick
click have disk
browse to where you new driver folder is.
make sure you have the correct inf fil loaded in it else it will not change your driver.
click open
click ok
pick your gts card and click next.
if you did this right, then a box with a red bar will appear saying do you wish to update your driver. (something like that) click yes
once finished. reboot your computer with the new drivers installed. -
still the same, max at 1024x768.
does it have to do with something else? or is this driver related? -
you got me there.... didn't have that problem... sorry.
