-
-
What GPU/Memory clock setting do you reccommend if I wan't to pull the max out from my 8800M GTS? (Stable and safe clocks ofc)
-
-
-
Just picked up one of these today at Best Buy. ($1099) Loving it so far, but haven't gotten a chance to download more than just Firefox. Can't wait to benchmark, and throw another CPU in here!

-
I may wait for the Quad Core in November.

Sc rew Guru3d, they arent offering something good for Humanity (AKA drivers) , At least tweakforce are boosting my performance. i'm staying with them.
-
Yeah who cares, XG is the best drivers out there for us notebook owners, well for desktop owners too. Nothing can touch it´s peformance and IQ.
-
Hmm... should I try these "XG" drivers? Do they offer 64bit drivers?
-
Yes, the do offer them KGann, stay tuned, new driver is coming in 4-5 days or something.
-
Awesome, thank you Brainer! Two more questions, if you don't mind-
1. I'm sure they Tweak the drivers, (hence the name), but it's not crazy tweaking that would cause higher temps, or unstable performance, correct?
2. Do you have a link? I couldn't seem to find anything that wasn't Guru3D related.
Thanks man! -
just said that they got banned, never said anything about the drivers being bad.
kgann: use what ever drivers work best for you and your system. what might be good for some may not be best for you. you'll just have to play around and see.
was over at xg a little bit ago. waiting for semp to do the 177.41's. i see he is running them for his personal system. -
Good point, John. On my 8400GT, I knew it like the back of my hand. But this 8800 is a whole new basket to me!
-
but here goes the link, give them a try. they are easy to install. so give them a whirl.

dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate

funny thing was dondadah88, i crashed it trying to convert it to a gtx card....lol and had to blind flash it back to stock. lol -
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i'm going to try use the stock settings now but i've been on 169.04 for so much months idk which driver is good now and i cant find the inf file on the xg website -
1: usb floppy or thumb drive
2: crisis recovery disk.
3: your current bios file which has to be renamed to bios.wph
4: the keycode to activate your blind bios flash. (ours was fn+b)
5: listen to the beeps. wait till your computer shuts off. then turn it back on. and your back in business.
but since i dont have all of the stuff for my gateway (bios file). flashing the bios is.....
NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
-
no need. xg's make it all one file. just click to install and it will pretty much do the rest. -
Downloading the Tweakforce XG drivers. What modding, exactly to they do? Are there any .Inf's to replace or such?
I'm guessing I still need to do the "Uninstall, reboot, reinstall" method, correct? -
Well, my 3DMark went down 200 points. I'm reverting back...
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
what did u try
-
The Tweakforce drivers. It went from 6944 to 6782.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
no what driver did you use
-
The Tweakforce drivers that were linked. I now am back to 177.41.
-
Kgann, they do perform better, did you try games?...
-
Yup, performance went down in both Crysis and CoD4...
-
thats wierd. its one of the best performers for me, oh well. it varies from a card to other.
-
I'm sure they are good drivers, they just didn't do much for me.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
hey everyone i'm thinking about tgetting the new gateway
http://www.gateway.com/systems/product/529668093.php
it has the 8800m gts and a 1080p screen i'm just wondering what's the performance differnce going to be in games at 1080p. if it isnt to great, i'm alittle tight on money but if i can get the 8800m gtx sli for cheap can someone put me to the right computer -
That notebook will handle any game you throw at it. With the T8300, it is a very nice machine. You could also look at picking up one of the P-6860FX's at Best Buy, and throw in a T8300 from eBay. May save a little money.
-
UPDATE
Will be redoing my benchmarks, sort of a comparison almost, i have an X7800 installed now, so we will see how much of a difference the clockspeed can make. -
Alrighty. Can't wait!
-
-
Im really interested to see how it improves performance. i swear my t5550 is holding me back in TF2.
-
OFc it is, Source games are CPU dependants..
-
^ what he said, because of the physics aspect. But yes, so far I have noticed a huge difference, one i cant beleive though. DOW DC was giving me between 20-60FPS before with the T5450, and now with the X7800 it was between, get ready.
160-460FPS, WTF -
erm yes. i was stunned with your FPS in DOW first time actually, i was Like WTF
but now it sounds good
Since DOW relies on Single core speed i guess, well until SOulstorm came out, all others had multicore probs.
-
i guess i should invest in a new cpu then. dont know if i could afford a X7800 though.
