Yeah that's what I did. I selected "600M series (Notebooks)" but it says "No drivers found. Please select a different combination or use the automatic driver detection option."
If I choose "600 series" then the option for "GeForce 304.48 Driver" comes out.

Are you trying to select the 680M? Its not supported with this driver since its not out yet.

All other 600M will find 304.48 when you search

I tried from 680m all the way down to 635m. Only when I reach 635m does the 304.48 download page come up.
So this latest driver only supports 610m to 635m. What a waste of time.
Okay ppl when it's out, it's out we'll all know. You just have to wait.

GeForce GTX 675M, GeForce GTX 670M, GeForce GTX 660M, GeForce GT 650M, GeForce GT 640M, GeForce GT 640M LE, GeForce GT 635M, GeForce GT 630M, GeForce GT 620M, GeForce 610M....."
All REALEASED cards are supported from now on, but it is still a BETA driver anyway... Drivers - GeForce

You have to click on "Beta and Legacy Drivers", located on the left side of your screen.

Occasionally, one must think, "outside the box".

The 680m and a girlfriend are quite similar, both are fun, both are expensive, and in the end with both you still end up mostly playing by yourself.

Even if the 680m happens to be better this time around, I can't justify the extra $300... I'd rather spend $200 now for something hardly "worse" and use the $300 toward an upgrade in the future.

This'll be my first user upgradeable laptop, so I hope I won't be disappointed with the choice, but, from what I've seen, I'll have no issues going with AMD this time.

Don't get stuck on one side or the other, people, considering technology, listen to your brain, not your heart. You'll be happier that way.

Oh boy life doesn't treat you guys well does it? xD Never put heart into material stuff but don't give all of it to people unless you trust them! Cant live life without risk. Besides that stuff, I do agree that the 680m is too expensive for minimal performance gain. I don't know much about computers, so I'm impartial to what graphics is best. But the 680m is not easy on the wallet haha xD

Thanks, but they're not THAT cheap. Although a quote with a 7970M costs around $2000, which is great in Europe's terms, their 680M costs more than $500 over their 7970M.

At least they're offering a 3D monitor, which is quite nice. Will keep them in mind.

By the way, is there a reason to go for the 3612 CPU due to the lower 35 Watt TDP?

The 3612 will have less performance, as it will not be able to turbo as much. I'd stick with a 45w one, unless you are pegging it all the time, it wont make much difference to battery life anyways.

Thanks for the answer. I bet the difference in battery life is negligible (who buys a gaming laptop for battery life, anyway?) but there's also the overall system temperature to consider as well, no?

Ambient temperature of 77 degrees Farenheit, having the M18X R2 with a 3610QM in my lap (CPU exhaust exits middle, intakes in front of that) running Intel Burn Test I got 71C max. When placed on my desk, it got to 81C max.

i have seen many saying that the 7970m gets to 90C or more on stress tests and even in some games.

So the veredict if it is cool or not is still open.

EDIT: Of course the posts above are talking about cpu temps.

I for example bought the 3720qm with a 7970m, once i have the notebook i will do tests.

I don't see my GPUs go over 76C at stock clocks, and that's only when running a game that can tax both these cards to the max. For many games with VSYNC enabled, the GPUs hover from 25 to 44% usage each, and don't get past 63C. On my LAP. <('_')>

The 7970's in Clevo machines do seem to run in the 90c range from what I have seen. That is a bit hot, but it is not hot enough to damage it so it's fine.

I don't care what performance 680m is getting because it is overpriced and the desktop GK110 GTX 685 is coming out in September/November so 685m will come out shortly after that. Save that $300 for future GPU upgrades.
