Bad Company 2 Friends

Ok, here's some evidence something is definitely wrong with this game, as far as kills, deaths, among other things. Look at this screenshot and tell me if you find anything odd about it:

 

Htw, I see this on every round and I have come to the conclusion that it is adding in your kill assists. I always have a significantly higher number in that portion of my "score"

 

You mean kills by the weapon? I had well over 6 kills in the game, not 19, but over 6. And I was surprised to see the 19 kills by that weapon. I swear this happens to me more often than not at an end of a round, I know I had more kills than what I'm getting credit for, but no way to prove it, unless I happen to look at my kills before the round ends, which I am starting to do more often just to compare.

If they do count assists, then I guess that adds to my name as "the tenderizer".

Plus I killed four tanks and no credit for any of them either.

The most score by box displays the weapon you got the most kills in the server you are currently playing and not just on the round itself.

I don't want to have to keep track of this crap, but I guess I'll have to. Not sure how you prove this to EA/DICE though.

Although im pretty sure that my explanation holds true for me when playing.

 

Maybe it's a fluke, but I guess I'll just have to continue to watch it. The no tank kills gets quite frustrating though. Sigh. I've been getting continuous over 1 k/d for most rounds since the patch, so I guess some things were changed at least in my favor. Still hard to improve on my overall k/d since I started off with a 0.40, lol.

 

I thought the "most score by:" box showed the weapon you got the most kills with that round, but it showed your overall kills, shots and accuracy for the lifetime of that weapon?

 

Your gun choice is odd.

 

Why? It's most effective for me. I can't hit the broad side of a barn with anything else, except others seem to be able to snipe me from across the map with a semi-auto or fully auto, seriously.

I'm getting frustrated again. I still think there's lots of hacks out there. I saw an Engineer holding a CG revive someone. I shoot someone in the back of the head four times with a pistol, they turn around and knife me and they have 100% health.

BAh well, not sure how I'm supposed to get the additional 45000 points to get to rank 25. I can't seem to get more than a couple thousand a round, and I've been in the top 3 on my team most often lately, which is sad.

 

M14 is a monster, it is my new weapon of choice for engineers and medics, and sometimes assault.

 

Wow a CG revive...nice The key to lvl up is be the ace player by 2000 points lol.

 

Haha I am one of those people that will turn around and kill you, or dodge bullets magically, or other things. My ping is always the lowest in the server(usually), and my hit detection is nuts, it always lands where I shoot. The latest patch fixed all the issues I was having.

Yeah, it was weird, I was following him around a rock side corner, I saw teh guy on the ground just ahead of him, heard the revive squeal, the dude popped up off the ground and heard the "alright you're good to go" or whatever. Suffice to say I killed them both, but still.

That's the thing, my ping on my desktop is usually around 100, usually top 3-5 fastest, and everyone elses is 150 or higher. I seem to do better when my ping is much higher, maybe I just need to play high ping servers...

OH well, some people are just destined to be the worse.

 

I also saw an eng, mortar strike an area. I think that there is a bug though. It shows the original class and not the current class.

Even with 300-400 ping my hit detection acts fine. You can stil get 2000-3000 score each game with that ping. The game has a nice way of handling ping.

 

couldn't it possibly be when you change kits, lets say you where a assault and a squad mate was medic he dies so you change to his kit to revive him, now its my understanding that you take his weapons etc but keep your assault clothing making it appear that a assault revived a teammate?.....

 

Well yes he is supposed to keep his clothing BUT before that the class would also change not the costume.

 

I played last night for a bit. My connection is great and also played on low ping servers. The hit detection in this game is absolute fail for the PC. I have tried the additions to the ini files but it doesnt help. I actually unloaded an entire 249 clip on someone (as medic), they were a sniper and the literally ran up to me, going up stream in the bullets, knifed me point blank, and then ran off. They started about 40 to 50 feet away so I had enough time to basically go through an entire 249 clip.

Folks, I am advising that this is a single player only game for pc. I have it on the 360 and can't in good concience tell anyone to get it for pc (multiplayer). Unless you one of those with hacks and bots and everything else that feels they need to have the best stats on paper... Wish I could get my money back on this one...

Thank you, so I'm not the only one. That's what happens to me constantly. I empty my clip with sight completely on target and nothing. Also you can tell the BF2 hoppers, they exist in BC2 but good thing is it doesn't help at all.

I play as a medic a LOT and i currently use the lowest accuracy LMG and i only use 40 bullets to kill someone far away.

HINT dont go full auto.

 

Oh boy "don't use full auto" again. I see 40+ ranks spraying bullets all day long and mowing down tons of people. And they'll have like 5 or 6 gold star with that weapon. Doesn't work for me so I don't do it, but it does for some. Bottom line is some people I guess have better luck than others. And by luck I mean luck. Sure there's better "talent" if you want to call it that for a video game, but more I play the more I realize there's lots of luck involved. It's too inconsistent.

Not to mention 40 bullets out of a 100 round clip is "spraying" imho. If you're using 40% of your clip in one shot it's not semi-auto. It should only be a few bullets per burst.

 

Luck is still a part of the game BUT you just cant count on luck alone otherwise all the GOOD players are just lucky then.

You can go full auto if you are directly facing the enemy but when the enemy is quite far away better take your shots.

 

I think that's what Steven was saying. He said the sniper was like 50 feet away, which isn't far, and they closing the gap quickly with each second, yet it doesn't phase them. When I get hit with a bullet, it freezes me, as in I can't really move I guess from the bullet impact, I dunno. I can never run into someone shooting me because the game won't let me.

And I see people sitting back and emptying their M60 clips all day long, reload, empty, reload, empty from one location and killing a dozen people or more that are a good 100-200 feet away. That's what I'm talking about luck. I do that and it won't touch anyone.

 

Hmmm have you tried other weapons then?

I stopped using the M60 once i reached PLAT. and every other LMG i used have different strengths. Also other Killer Medics use the Red Dot sight as a additional help, i personally dont use it though since i dont really camp.

I was surprised that using the MG3 was actually fun since i am always on the go and that weapon is VERY ideal for close range.

Have you guys tried to practice just camping and see if you can get the hang of it?

 

Hey, spraying takes skill too mkay.

 

I don't like to camp. I like to get in the action, and can't resist trying to cap a point when it's clear it's open while everyone else dukes it out over another point. Plus I hunt down snipers. With kill cam on it makes it easy, and most snipers get comfy in one spot.

And "get the hang of it?" I'm level 24, and have over 50 hours of game time, not sure what I need to "get the hang of"? The game isn't that hard, it's just inconsistent, and every game I play there's at least one person banned or kicked for a hack, which tells me there's probably tons more people out there that have hacks that PB doesn't have a clue about.

I use most weapons, but I'm honing in on my favorites. I use red dot sight always with M60 too. I don't have the luck others have though putting red dot on target from 100 yards out and taking them out. I have to expend a lot of bullets IN BURST to even get a hit even though dot is right on their head, even with bullet drop it should hit them from 100 feet out.

 

Here is what I am saying.. I have MAXED out each weapon/class on the 360. I am XcessiveForce33 if anyone wants to shoot me a friend list on both pc and 360. Now when I shoot adversaries on the 360, they dont magically keep running at me. They slow then they die. Whether it be in burst or full auto. The bottom line is that either folks are using tweaks, or some other means to make the pc version of this game work for them. In my opinion, that defeats the whole purpose of the game. I like to have fun, play fair and unload some stress for the day. When I shoot people for 6-10 seconds straight and it doesn't phase them.. that causes my stress to go up. At that point, why bother playing the game. There is a HUGE difference between pc and console... I think some folks in this game should wear a RED CAPE with a big S on it. They just dont die...

i suppose what im saying are " what ifs" i mean what if a engineer took a medic kit the revived some one then found a sniper kit and changed into that, he would still look like a medic but have the ability to call in a mortar strike, with the ability to change kits its very possible that it wasn't a hack, i mean its so easy to just say "hacker" when you get owned or something but if we really think about it it could be legit.....

 

How late would the patch would have been released to a server? I know that I had downloaded it on release day.

Reason I ask, I played for the first time this week last night. I swear something was up because I was not getting shots for with the m60. I doubt I was just having a 'bad day'.

 

I didnt call him a hacker ALSO what i am saying that BEFORE the patch it tells what CURRENT class the guy is using and NOT the original one. AFTER the patch the class in the killcam remains the original one even though he has changed weapons and classes.

 

I thought that too, but he had a CG when he did it, and shot at me with the CG afterwards. Oh well. I don't call hackers and never cry foul in a game, unless it's clear. I've ratted out hackers before and had them banned by the respective clan server group, so it was clear they had evidence too.

I'm fine with good players, but being invulnerable to gunfire, sniping across a map with a fully auto gun, and carrying extra kits along aren't good. You're either good at exploiting holes in the system, extremely lucky, or cheating. Good people still die. Good players now how to make use of the weapons' abilities as intended, and how best to take cover.

 

dude don't be so defensive, i didn't say you called anyone a hacker, i said its easy for people to cry hacker when it isn't the case.......the reason i bring it up is because Ive been in a few games recently that the opp team have called our team hackers because they where getting pawned, and it gets tired fast IMO, i was just bring different variables to the table..........and i don't honestly get to picky about killcams , because often the guy you thought had killed you was the wrong one and you got picked off buy someone else instead.......anyway, im taking a break from BC2 for a while.... splinter cell conviction calls...

 

I am just talking about why the game changed the way killcam works involving classes of the one who killed you.....

 

Sorry to hear so many people out there are still having problems with this game. I usually join servers that are listed with <40 ping, and even though in game it shows my ping at ~125, I still don't notice any difference in-game. Hit detection for the most part has been fine with me, and I haven't really encountered too many hackers out on the field, although I have seen the scrolling ban lists. Sure there are glitches, but nothing I can't live with. Hopefully your guys' experiences change, cuz i'm really enjoying the game...

htwingnut, one thing i've found that helps me accumulate points and rank up is to set a pin/award goal and focus on achieving the requirements. Whether it's going for stars or whatever, those small points definitely do add up quicker than trying to get kills to make the points up. Case in point:

 

I know you guys are going to hate this but... I traded in some 360 games and picked up mw2 for pc. I never ever ever... thought I would say this.. but.. I think it's better than bfbc2 for the pc. So my vote goes BFBC2 - 360 and MW2 for PC. I can't honestly believe I am posting it. I really started to hate mw2 for 360. It plays really well on the 360, fluid, and when I shoot someone.. they actually die. Imagine that.. (and for the record I have both bfbc2 and mw2 for both 360 and pc)

i don't hate you man, ou enjoy MW2 on PC more than BC2 that's fine......enjoy it i played 400+ hrs of MW2 mp as bugged as it is it gave me a lot of enjoyment.

Oh yea, and one more thing... was on a server last night which was just loaded with snipers. The smoke attachment on the Assault class rifles was a life saver/taker! Pretty much smoked out the gap between the city and UCB where all the snipers were camping and that was the end of their sniping Also rushed through the smoke a couple times to shorten the distance between myself and the snipers, and they didn't have enough time to react. Long story short: smoke!

 

Smoking is banned here now...

 

Ahh you must be the person why I hate playing BC2, and overall ruining the game.

I'm kidding.

 

Hmmm maybe I'll give the next COD when it comes out a try. Seeing someone die after I shoot them repeatedly emptying a clip would be a nice treat. Since finding out DICE is behind Medal of Honor's MP, I have no interest in that game anymore, I expect another console port claimed to be made for PC, but find out it has permanent mouse smoothing and hitbox detection screaming bad console port...
- Really... who else but DICE releases a highly cooperative online FPS game with no voice communication support. Blows my mind how bad BC2 really is.

I also have suspicion that BC2 plays miles and miles better on PS3 and 360 than it does on PC.

If anyone knows how I can get my $50 refunded for this broken console port PM me please!
