one other thing, in the description of the UAS12 it says its a 7 shot mag autoshotgun, yet it only has 6 when playing :S

 

I don't know ht... I use the SPAS-12 with the slug round and still do fairly well. Maybe not as dominant as before the patch, but still good enough to keep using it. Got accused of hacking the other night with it.

 

I just got done with a couple quick rounds. This game is just ridiculous. I shot someone with my M1911 from halfway across the map and got a headshot. lol.

I used the Saiga again and just got closer and did better, I used to be able to take them down in 3 shots, but now it takes 5.

I chose the GOL for the next round and actually did quite well, well mortar strike helped. I see five guys all hovering in the same spot, several times. The sad thing is each time I mortared them it only killed one of them, but got a few kill assists.

I have to start working on my vehicle pins though so I can get that done. I dunno how I'm gonna do it but I gotta try I guess. One is for 3 kills with any vehicle and 4 with cars. Seems if you got 3 with cars, go for the fourth and get both pins. Sea vehicles I'll have to snipe from the back of a jetski or boat because I will never be able to get that one. And the air kills... eek. I suck in the chopper.

 

3 roadkills with a vehicle is just get in a vehicle every time u spawn and drive down and try to run them over....
to get the one with cars try parking up half close to them and use the machine gun on top of the humvee or russian car, cant remember it's name.
for the sea vehicles one just spam grenades from the grenade boat

 

Haha, I was sniping in a bush in the middle of the desert and an enemy atv comes at me, I jump out of the way and whip out my pistol and needless to say the driver was soon owned.

 

Gunner kills count as air kills too. I'm a decent pilot, I could drive you around for a bit and rack you up some kills if you're down. Got my Platinum helo if you need credentials

BTW did they just add Rush to some maps and Conquest to others that didn't have it before? Because that Atacama Desert (name???) is a piece of crap map for rush, lol.

 

Haven't seen a rush map for Atacama, but it would be interesting if it opened up new areas, eg. Laguna Presa Rush vs. Laguna Presa Conquest. I play Atacama Desert Conquest maps the most, so a map expansion would be pretty sweet!

I have been doing that latley. When my first shot from my sniper rifle doesn't kill them I will quickly switch to my pistol and pop a few shots at them. Most of the time it works.

 

Very close to unlocking the GOL sniper.

 

That is the best sniper IMO.

People tend to like the first sniper you get (can't remember the name, something like M94), or they like the .50 cal you unlock at the very end, but I find the .50 cal gets SO MANY hitmarkers even with magnum ammo. I basically have to hit them in the head to get a kill.

But with the GOL, I can hit the upper chest and get a kill easily, and I think that it is more accurate.

I'm working on my 4th star with it, but I find myself switching guns so much, it's hard to just use one class (except the UMP, and we all know how well I do with that *see page 114 if you don't know what I'm talking about* I could use that gun all day).

 

Haha I prefer the first sniper M24 and the .50 cal. I guess I'll have to give the GOL a shot.

 

agree. gol sniper has insane accuracy. i am an awful sniper always have been and always will be but with GOL i can get some mean kills. every single marksman headshot i have hit is with it, and i think the best is a completely cross map on islas paraisos for like 200-300 marksman points, but i'll never do that again EVER

EDIT: and ur consoling anyway (not that makes much difference, just want to push you to get PC version )

 

I'm definitely not a fan of the .50cal. first hit doesn't usually kill, and by the time you reload, the guy is gone! One of my favourites is the VSS Sniper Short with Red Dot on Hardcore maps: sooo deadly!

hey man, would love to but i'm coming to you live from work. I manage a bar/conference facility and we have a wedding here tonight; won't be home for a couple more hours (currently 1:26 a.m. here). Working all day/night tomorrow as well, but Sunday is my next day off, so i'll probably be online then sometime. Did you get my friend request btw?

 

The GOL is generally considered an "easy-mode" sniper rifle. If you have difficulty with the M24 or M95, odds are you'll enjoy the GOL.

Personally, I roll Medic, so it's all about the LMG's. I just unlocked the MG36, and I dig the integrated red dot scope. It's definitely better than either the unlockable red dot or ACOG. Now that I mention it, I never really used either on any of my LMG's; I prefer iron sights. And yes, that includes the awkward contraption on the M60.

I haven't unlocked the MG3 yet, so I'll know for sure tomorrow at some point, but so far I prefer the M249 SAW and MG36.

 

Haha. I'm just no good when it comes to FPS games like this on the PC, but I do prefer most of my games on the PC vs console. I am WAY better at aiming with a controller than a mouse.

You are not missing much with the MG3. It's got INSANE fire rate, but it does terrible damage. It's only halfway decent in a close quarter situation.

For me, I have a few LMG's I use, the list goes from best to less than best:

XM8 LMG is tied with the M249 SAW
M60 LMG
Type 88 LMG

I switch between all of those LMG's, depending on the map, but I usually use the XM8 and the SAW the most (I did so even when the M60 was overpowered. It has to much bounce for me).

 

I'm using GOL atm but I've tried the M95 by picking it up from higher rankers, and it was amazing

 

If you like the XM8 LMG, you should switch to the MG36. It's literally identical in terms of stats (14.3-12.5 damage, 750 RPM, 2.1x headshot multiplier), but it has the integrated red-dot sight.

 

Ya, I have tried that gun (I have all guns unlocked by the way), and it's a good gun, like you said, it's identical to the XM8, but I really dislike the red-dot sight.

I love the regular red-dot sight on all the rest of the guns, but the one on the MG36 is to constricting (it feels like a sniper scope instead of a red-dot sight).

 

WHat do the stars mean on the gun?

 

Nothing. You get a bronze star for killing 25 people, 50 for a silver star, then 100 for a gold star.

 

Ok, and also, what does that specialization for snipers called "Spot" do exactly?

 

From what I've heard, it automatically spots enemies for you when you are in scope, saving you from pressing "Q". It only works well in short range, otherwise, quite useless.

 

Heh, I'm the exact opposite. I love the MG36's integrated sight...even though it restricts peripheral vision somewhat, the actual dot is very precise, while the RDS attachment looks more like a big red circle.

The XM8 LMG does have pretty nice iron sights, though. Of all the LMG's I've used so far, I think it has the nicest iron sights. Very precise, even at longer ranges. After using the M60's horrible sights for a week, I can't complain about any gun's iron sights ever again.

 

I just sniped two guys out of a heli and watched the heli crash into the water and blow up. I feel pro haha

 

That reminds me of the one time i sniped the pilot out of a helo, or the number of times i sniped the driver of a jetski and his teammate is still on the back of it. lol

 

I still remember the time where I noticed that the Heli was falling and saw that the driver was shot.

I quickly changed to the driver seat to save the Heli and some players from falling

 

I just acquired the M95, and its awesome!! The sheer power of the thing, its a BEAST! XD

 

I unlocked the MG3 yesterday...it's not bad. It's basically like a modernized MG42, which is pretty much what I expected. It's tied with the PP2000 for highest rate of fire in the game, at 1,000 RPM. Relatively weak damage per shot, but the sheer volume of boolets makes up for it. I feel like the iron sights should be a lot sharper, though.

Anyway, that's it for my Medic class. I've got all the weapons and specializations for it. I think I might work on Recon next, but I would feel bad about it, because Recons are generally frowned upon as being useless.

 

recons are just for fun or if you're a hard core sniper, XD. Ever since counterstrike I've been a sniper so I maxed out recon first, going for assault or medic next, which one do you think is better?

 

Do they scare the opponent to death? (BOO!)

I don't like the PP2000, very ineffective imho. You blow through so many rounds and if you miss your target you've expended dozens of bullets already.

I prefer assault because the 40mm grenade is pretty effective. Although the medic with the LMG's is quite devastating too, and can be critical by constantly reviving friendlies to cap a point or keep unit strength up when waiting for an MCOM to blow.

 

Assault for kills, medic for score. I also maxed out my recon first. Now I'm working on getting the UMP for my engineer.

Haha, I loved Valve's advertising campaign for TF2! Reminded me a bit of the game Evil Genius that came out a while back. TF2 was a lot of fun to play also... as long as you had cool folks to play with, of course. I miss playing that game!

 

am now up to 128'000 shots fired with the saiga....... maybe it's time to lay it down to rest for a bit

 

@spaghetti- do you notice sometimes that it takes like 5-7 shots with saiga to kill someone? Even on hardcore sometimes.. I mean you can be like 7-10 feet away (not slugs either) and I have to just hammer the thing to make sure the campers (aka snipers) are dead.

ye htwingnut said he has problems with it aswell... i personally get them within 3-5 shots depending how far away i am, usually 4. I am so used to gettin them with 4 in fact that my auto reaction is to shoot 4 quickly then swap to pistol even though there is 2 shots left ready to fire :S but ye i do very occasionally shoot a bit and get hit markers every time then die to see they were on 1-4% health, never mind.

(and i just knife the snipers while they are scoped )

 

Yep, I use slugs all the time, but could always get them down with 4 shots before this patch. Now I can empty my whole clip and frequently they don't die, unless I get a luck headshot (even though I'm aiming directly at their head, it never happens). I do find shooting at their groin actually increases my chances of taking them down more quickly. lol.

 

Now that is just mean! Lol

I actually tried using the gun last night with slugs.

It's fun to use, but I find it annoying to aim when you have slugs on, just because the cross hairs are so darn small.

If there added a little space between them, or maybe a RDS attachment for the gun, I could do so much better with it.

 

narrrrrrrrr no slugs!! so much better without. this is why you are struggling to kill them. slugs give it more range but less damage. just use standard shot shells, get them in the big circle and fire away.... watch them hit the deck

 

Yeah, I'm not too huge on slugs...but they are unquestionably super-effective on pump-action shotguns. On the 870, for instance, slugs deal 100-50 damage, meaning they'll never take more than 2 hits to kill if your target doesn't use the body armor specialization.

 

^^^ This is so true, i use the 870 with slugs and magnum ammo, and it doesn't take me more than one shot within a reasonable range and usually doesn't take me than two shots. One time, i encountered a group of 5 enemies, the shotgun only has 4 rounds, i killed the first 4 with one shot a piece and then pistoled the last guy. Needless to say they all called me a cheater.

 

Well I don't have a problem killing, but just aiming.

I will try it out without slugs the next time I get on, and see how much better I do.

Time to put the An-94 down anyway, got my 5th Gold Star lastnight, lol.
