In due time, lol.
I keep going back to my SPECACT UMP, even though I have 3 Gold Stars on it, and 3 Gold Stars on the regular UMP.![]()
-
-
Will I be the 1st here to reach lvl 50? Currently at level 49.
-
I do soo well sometimes, but damn does it take a good while to level up.
In my best game I got like 11k points, and my XP bar only went up slightly, haha. -
My thing is with slugs its at least half way decent at medium range. I can get kills probably more frequently at range than up close. But like I said, it changed after the patch for sure. I mean if you had 4-5 slugs in your torso and one in your forehead I doubt you'd be able to lunge and knife someone.
-
You can use the SPECACT weapons??
-
Haha, I should mention I am on the Xbox 360.
I thought PC had the SPECACT weapons already? -
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
I haven't played BC2 in over a week I think. I've been playing TF2.
-
Whats are spectat weapons?
-
Nope. I don't think there's an official release date yet either.
Good for you, I guess? Not sure how that's really relevant.
-
No, PC doesn't have them yet. Check a page or two back for why.
I miss playing that game sometimes. Tons of fun! You on Steam usapatriot? -
They are basically the same weapons with a camo on them. You can also choose to wear a different camo color on your character.
You can only choose the last weapons in the class (M16, UMP, etc)
It is a promotion thing from Dr.Pepper. Codes are under certain bottle's cap's (it says it on the wrapper). -
Ok, a little off topic but... why the heck is usapatriot banned... again??!
Back on topic, the SPECACT weapons are supposedly not in the PC version yet due to crashing issues and they only have one guy working to fix the issue... blah!
-
banned again? What? He must be rubbing someone the wrong way.
Bah, don't need more weapons to bronze, lol. -
Just picked up an Alienware TactX Headset on special off Dell. I've been hearing more and more voice game, so hopefully it'll work for me!
-
Lol, banned? AGAIN?
Ok ok, what's going on here? Lol
-
Judging from the snarky attitude I've been seeing in pretty much all his posts since he came back, I'm not surprised at all.
-
wow, the game has been messed up today... I've been disconnected from the EA servers every 10ish minutes, multiple game crashes, and the servers don't always show up in the browser. Looks like someone is doing some work on the Master Servers somewhere out there...
-
Yeah I tried to play a few times today and I had a CTD every time.
-
Good News....well, kinda. If you bought BF:BC2 on Steam you can download and play the MoH Beta. It's a small download, under 1 gig. Tried it last night, it runs pretty well on my machine, seems easier to run than BC2. I definitely concur with others that it is a MW2 clone, the maps are tiny and there is no destruction and no recoil on the weapons; no way is this a $60 game. I am glad I get to try it though.
-
Honestly, I'm going to buy Medal of Honor even if it's just for the campaign. That's one thing that series has always invariably done right.
-
Hey guys. just got bc2 the other day and don't have any buddies to play with. My user name is JPeazy304 on PC. Add me if ya wanna play sometime this weekend.
-
I think I have reached a stage where I can win/lose games singlehandedly for the team
-
That's nice. There's times when I can lose a game single handedly for the team!
I hunt down level 50's now and have been quite successful at keeping them at bay. It just pisses me off that they've had the luck of being able to kill people more often than others.
But I think they need to revamp the scoring system some more. There's been many times on a conquest map that I've taken two points while the rest battle over one, and because of that we've won the game, but my score sucks because all I got was the stinkin' flag cap points and a few kills. Same for rush. One time, I decided to be a sniper. We were down to 5 tickets to go. I just ran in to the m-com set it, and it blew with one ticket to go. Took out five guys too trying to disable it... lol. -
I think there should be no tickets being taken away (on the attacking team) if the bomb is armed.
I have had numerous amounts of time where we have armed the bomb with only a few tickets remaining, and just before the bomb exploded, we lose the game because 3 of our guys got killed. -
Now that wouldn't be fair to the defending team, would it? They either defuse the bomb or they can choose to kill you.
-
I feel your pain... it's definitely a "jaw-drop" moment when you hear the 'close-to-exploding' alarm from the m-com and then BAAM!, game over, you loose!
Does capping flags in a conquest map actually effect the ticket countdown in any way, similar to BF2? As far as I can tell, it's just kills that make the ticket counter go down... -
That's been my complaint before too. Seems that even if you have all the flags capped you can still easily lose. It should be a multiplier of how fast your ticker goes down. I think it does go down slightly but seems it's just another form of Team Deathmatch. I cap flags for the points though.
-
Well I see it like this.
The Defending people have:
An advantage on the map (meaning by the time you get to where the bomb sites are, they are already set in, waiting for you)
Tickets on there side. They basically have all day to sit back and wait for you, and they can die as much as they want, and not have to worry one bit.
The Attackers have:
Vehicles. At least in most maps, the attackers have all or the majority of the vehicles (and some not even that great i.e; Hummer, Quad bike [only for flanking pretty much], etc.)
The rest of the map. They are not confined to a portion of the map, they can sit back from half the map away and try to shoot you.
So with all that said, stopping the ticket timer when the bomb is planted wouldn't be a a huge one sided deal, at least that's how I see it. -
Of course you can always C4 the M-Com.
-
Ugh, that too.
Running up the the M-Com, and then throwing C4 on it, and blowing it up is perfectly fine with me.
But the most ANNOYING thing is when the throw the C-4 on the UAV, and drive it next to the M-Com, and blow it up that way.
I mean, why do that?? Is it because you suck to much to plant the bomb the normal way??
Also when they crash the Helicopter into the M-Com, like a suicide bomber is extremely aggravating.
/end rant -
Yeah, there's lots of things like that that bug me in the game. It's lots of stupid things like this where I just suspend disbelief and keep on moving. But what really bugs me is when you snipe someone from across half the map hit them dead on, they keep moving and they return their shot with an uzi (while running no less) and headshot you with a shot or two. Same thing when in close quarters with the saiga, you blast them in the head four times from behind, they turn around and hit you with one shot from their pistol and you die.
-
I think driving a C4-ladden UAV into the mcom takes some skill.
-
Considering the UAV is impervious to crashes into trees, hillsides, and other inanimate objects, I beg to differ...
-
There's no rule that says you have to destroy the MCOM a certain way. Everything is fair game, and all methods have their tradeoffs. Arming the charges is certainly the quickest and most efficient way of doing it, but it requires getting close to it and surviving for a few seconds, and it can be undone by the defenders.
On the other hand, damaging it directly with rockets, CG spam and C4 allows for less risk to the attackers, but it takes considerably more time to do it. Same applies for "suicide bomb" methods such as kamikaze helicopter attacks or C4-loaded ATV's. They do more damage in a shorter time, but it generally costs the attacking team some respawn tickets, and competent defenders are generally able to prevent such tactics from being effectively employed.
tl;dr - you are not any more or less of a noob for using different approaches to accomplish the objective, and the fact that the game allows for it is evidence of that. If DICE thought there should only be one way to take out MCOM stations, then they would have made them impervious to normal weapons and explosives, and made it solely destructible via arming the charges. There's a reason this game doesn't work like Counter-Strike, or Call of Duty's Search & Destroy mode. -
Halfway to lvl 50.........
-
Anybody playing BC2 multi with gt 330M?
-
Hey guys im sooo cool i can snipe people form 400yards+++ with a remington 870 shotgun
c'mon... i was out shooting shotguns yesterday and they were not accurate past 50m. I can deal with some of the other stuff but thats just retarded. -
Yea, those were great games! Having a mic and communicating with your squad mates really adds a whole different dimension to this game. Those were probably some of the best games i've had, not because of kill or points, but because of the immersion through voice comms. Was great! Can't wait to get more guys up and going on the TS3 server. I'll be on when I game from now on!
-
ugh i have been playing on utter crap teams lately and to add to the frustration i always get stuck playing defense on Rush at some point. hopefully my luck starts to turn around soon..
-
^Same...it seems every server I've joined lately suffers from horrible stutter, no matter how low the ping is. I keep missing obvious shots, and people keep shooting me around corners.
I got frustrated, so I've pretty much been playing Battlefield 2 all week instead...I forgot how awesome that game was...you know, a real PC game. -
bump bump
-
I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's probably not going to work that well. I have trouble running it at low settings on my desktop with an 8800GT.
-
Yeah, I still revisit BF2 from time to time. Definitely how a military game SHOULD be done. My problem is that I've gotten so used to the keys from BC2, I keep screwing up. Number keys for different weapons, have to select the knife to use it. Med and ammo packs are consumed, not persistent, etc.
It's hard to switch. Plus I think I've been trained to lead my targets differently in BC2 because BF2 actually seems to have a an accurate hit box.
They better not botch Battlefield 3. I loved BF2, BC2 is kind of a buffer for me. It's fun, but not as fulfulling as BF2 is/was.
I hear you about shooting around corners etc. I can be behind a metal shipping crate, the enemy has no line of sight to me, yet the bullet still seems to find me and kill me, when I'm clearly behind the crate. Same thing with standing behind a rock. None of the rocks are tall enough to hide behind while crouching, and you can't go prone, when you should easily be able to take cover. -
Played well on my first gen M11x. It was more CPU limited than GPU limited too. The i5/i7 M11x seems to play quite well with the GT 335M.
Here was my gameplay in Beta, and ran better with production code. Didn't make a video then:

I try to keep my bindings the same throughout all my games, or at least as close as possible, so it's not much of an issue for me. Although I did have to get used to the way medkits work again...I keep throwing them down and forgetting they're only good for one use.
Yeah, it's hard to get used to people actually getting hurt when you fill them full of bullets...funny how we forget about the simple things like that.
I sure hope they don't, but I don't have much hope at this point, considering how the series has been going lately, what with Bad Company being console exclusive, BC2 being a console-optimized piece of crap, Heroes being a microtransaction novelty, and BF1943 also console exclusive. I'm sure BF3 will just be another crappy Frostbite-driven BC2 clone with some new maps and no campaign.
Hey, console gamepads don't have enough buttons to allow for prone, how on earth could we possibly expect to have features that they don't!?
-
You know what? I didn't even think of that. All they said at the EA forums were that it slowed the game too much trying to find people prone. What a crock, considerin the amount of CG, nade, and 40mm spamming that goes on, not to mentio mortar. I mean there's so many splash damage weapons I can't believe they even said that in hindsight.
Probably as you said, not enough buttons for consoles... blech.
-
Haha, don't let us FPS console gamers hold you back!
If they added prone, you would just simply have to "hold" down the button you have for crouch *in my case it's the left thumb stick* instead of just clicking it once.
To be honest, I don't mind no prone in the game. I think it prevents a lot less camping (especially snipers), and since people blend well enough into the environment as it is, it would be a lot harder to see people.
To be honest, I hope DICE releases patches for the PC. Hearing all of the problems you all are having, makes me kinda sad, but then that goes away fast when I go 35-4 in a game, haha.
-
We're not doing a damn thing; you can thank lazy developers for that.
Now you're just being ridiculous! How the hell can we expect DICE to give us patches for such trivial things as hit registration and weapon balance when there's more DLC to be made and sold to the consoles? -
5 words.
Because their not Infinity Ward.
At least, that is my reasoning. Sure, there is a lot of DLC on the way (what DLC comes to consoles, usually comes to PC, just at a later date doesn't it?) but I think DICE knows what there doing when it comes to fixing there game, and listening to the community. They may not be A+ at it, but hell, anything beats IW's staff of misfits.
I wonder just how big of a problem is what you mentioned above with every other PC gamer that plays BFBC2. (I would assume all of them)
Maybe DICE isn't aware of these problems because the amount of people pointing them out isn't great enough?
Or they could all just be a bunch of lazy S.O.B's who don't do crap, hell I don't know.
