come on man be fair, do you think two opposing forces meet prior to any battle and say "look honey you wear the blue today it looks striking with your eyes and ill where my yellow uniform as it makes me look slimmer".
battle is being aware of your surroundings......that includes subtle differences within uniforms.....

 

I just look for the name above their head, its not always easy to see but its the best way for me. If its not hardcore the arrows on the HUD are a good indicator also.

Also you can try to "spot" the enemy if they are bad the red arrow will come up, this has the added benifit of marking them for your team as well.

 

I know what you're saying, but in a game, it would be helpful. IRL, you have analog vision with unlimited framerate and zero lag.

 

I like how they do it in America's Army... each side sees themselves in army uniforms and the other team in the enemy uniform. Kind of simplistic, but it works.

I haven't used the noob tube either. I switched from assault to medic class and got my butt handed to me. And since I can get mortar strike soon, I decided to run as recon with a semi auto weapon (can't recall which one), but got my butt handed to me again. So went back to assault and engineering classes where I can do some serious damage. I don't care if I get all my points from two classes now. I see people over 25 rank that have like triple platinum 40mm grenades. So whatever.

 

true mate but in RL you also only get one life, so its more forgiving in BC2 , and its not as though there are no differences in uniform, i find one very helpful tool is to listen to the voices, they often give away more info than any other factor.....

 

Perhaps, I will switch to the M60 and use it full time like you do and my KD should go way up.

 

I have platinum in M60, XM8 LMG, XM8 P, AN94, M416, 40mm grenade, M2 CG. I don't think I can achieve all that with full-timing the M60.

Knife, Grenade,M60,XM8,MG36 and SAIGA.

agreed! I tend to toss grenades in area where I suspect there might be enemies and wait to listen for the "oh s*** grenade!" or wtv Russian translation. Using sounds to track footsteps/conversations/etc actually works pretty well for me even though I have simple speakers.

RANT corner...I was in a GREAT squad even with only 3 persons our squad was the best squad for several straight games The thing is we were in the WORST team EVER(AFAIK).

Our squad was the only one doing the job, all the other squads were scaredy cats. I mean they wont even PUSH with 2 tanks!!!!!!!!! This happened in Laguna Presa map and the next Port Valdez map.

 

Time for my RANT corner lol - I didnt get many points yesterday just one bad game after another.

But the one thing that really irked me the most was when I was on the squad deathmatch game type and we were in the artic stage with all the houses. The whole enemy opposition was just Assult guys camping in the top floors of of the houses tossing 40mm grenades out of their grenade launchers over and over and they can resupply themselves of all things.

With the occasional Gustav from one of there team mates. Doing nothing but camping. I found very very few people on the move. I guess if they were they were dead so fast I never saw them.

So the game was a big bore because I almost never could get them before they got me since they only had to pop out for a second and insta kill me with splash damage and I had to manage to sink a few rounds into them with my M60.

BTW Shadow that is a crap load of dogtags, you must like your knife a lot. Its been letting me down way too often lately. Usually a miss and then right after I see myself die from an enemy knife even though I dont see them close or even turned at me.

Damn I'm behind Shadow again. Got so much schoolwork these few days.

 

I just realized something, (other than the fact that I suck) my win/loss ratio is only 0.70 where most others are over 1.0. How the heck do I keep getting on the losing team? I think that's also affecting my stats. Plus the lack of voice comms really kills the game too.

Rush games are extremely frustrating like already mentioned, when your team just sits there in a defense position when they should be advancing. I'm also getting stuck on obstacles a lot. I literally can't move, which of course eventually leads to my death when I can't evade.

Grenades are somewhat useless. Even if three guys have their backs to you. You lob a grenade behind them, the AI always yells "grenade" so then they all scatter. But I use that to my advantage now, using grenades to spook the enemy out of buildings and then pick them off.

Aside from that, there are victory moments that feel pretty sweet. And when your squad actually read what you're doing and it ends up becoming effective is a good feeling too.

Not to brag or anything but I can win a game single-handedly for the team. I just need a good squad to back me up. When I join a game, more often than not, I am with the losing team. The thing is, once you show signs of winning, your team will outnumber the other lol. All you need is for your team to start winning to continue winning because people will constantly join you.

 

I don't see how one person can single handedly win a game. Something is off balance then, bad pings, all fresh noobs, cheating, or just poor game design.

How do you draw the entire team forward to rush when they just sit back and defend instead? You can't. Hell, I've covertly made it in to set a charge, and they still sit back instead of advancing to defend that position. I'm on servers with lots of 30+ ranks too.

How do you defend a flag single handedly in conquest mode if you're an assault class against two tanks with engineers and another infantry squad. You can't. I am always flanked, mortared, or simply outmanned.

I guess I'd have to play with you to see how it works. Because nothing I try ever works. Always on the losing team, always with a losing squad, and can never get a kill despite dozens of bullets upside their head. Not to mention having to stab players once, twice, three times sometimes before they'll die.

I almost think you're better off with a high ping, because I'm usually below 150 in-game, with everyone else 200-300 (or more).

Had to do some thesis so i stopped for several days. Just finished the 2nd part of the Algo, we were working on and had this day to play. You'll surpass again when i stop playing hahaah. Better work on your SPM.

Ohohohoho Grenade if used wisely is deadly and a GREAT point getter. Why did you think i easily got a PLATINUM for it. Oh VERY useful in RUSH maps.

Not entirely true. I think our GREAT squad was in a SCARED TEAM against a team that knows how to defend. EVen with superior skills being outnumbered will still get you.Although thanks to that I got several rounds of 4000+ points.

Dont worry i always play in 300-400 ping it irritates me sometimes but i can live with it. I CANT WAIT IF THEY RELEASE A LAN PATCH TO LET ME PLAY IN SUB200 PING!!!!!

Ok, that's fine, but you said single handedly. I've managed to get with a good squad from time to time and it does make a difference. But it's so random. Most of the time each guy in the squad are on opposite ends of the map. I just think voice comms would help matters for everyone. Probably wouldn't be as much knifing either because you could announce someone's position once you've been knifed.

 

ive been using voice in game with a few clan mates the last few days, it seems to be irregular, some times it works perfectly and it does make a huge difference and then other times its unclear and impossible to understand, its one factor id really love to see fixed in the next patch as it is a heaven sent being able to communicate well with your squad and team mates.

 

Man I am always speaking on my mic and no one seems to be speaking on there's. We would have won so many more matches if everyone had voice chat...

 

It does not display your ping in game, it displays a "round trip latency"

 

Well that means i play at 200-300 ping while players play around 20-100 still the same scenario

Haven't been playing lately. I don't want to burn myself out on it. You'll usually find me playing on the same server as my brother ["Adabisi Lives" (get it?)]. Not always on the same team, however.

 

wingnut I was in the game with you just a few minutes ago.... lagging like crazy but dealt with it. I shot up to the top score spots like top 3 and I think i just took first place when I got a BSOD... grrrrr.

considering I just got back from dinner and had 7 margaritas I was not doing half bad.

gonna try to join you in another game and hope bsod does not strike again, started getting a few of those here and there when playing bc2.. not sure why.

 

Hi, Vicious, just saw you in there before you bailed at the next round. I was going to try and join your squad.

I had better k/d than you, but you were rockin' with points. People were complaining about lag, but I didn't notice it. My ping was also like 120 where everyone else was 200+.

I don't think I'll be back on tonight. Getting burned out. But at least I went up two levels tonight. I don't give a rats butt about my stats anymore. Just going and playing and having fun.

Although I tried the NoobTube and it wasn't working for me at all. Shot right in the middle of four guys tightly packed together and none died. Someone else came along and killed them all and didn't even give me an assist. Shot into a window with a guy shooting out of it, hit him direcdtly, got the white X to indicate a hit, but no die either. Bah well.

 

Yeah I did not bail I got a BSOD, I came back and noticed you were gone but kept playing. I did like 5 more games. I got 2nd place in every game. Over 5000 points in that last game only second to some guy called [24] jack bauer who had this insane K/D ratio.

I just got lvl 17 and I have every medic unlock now so time to move onto assault or engineer. The lag went away after 1 or 2 more games. I really wanted to add that server to my favorites but dont know how and it did not show up on my history as I never played any games like that. Any rush/conquest games I have played were just very different for some reason. The map seemed a lot larger and more diverse.

But yeah dinged 17, got all my medic unlocks and dont think I will fair too well in that mass warfare environment with noobie engineer or assault so going to call it a night and try some small games with the next class.

My K/D is almost 1.0 overall I get about 1.2+ per game but I am still making up for the bad stats from earlier in my career and those handful of bad games.

 

Vicious beside the game server name is a button where you click or right click it will open a menu where you can add it to your favorites.

Although it is not yet entirely fixed.

 

So I heard R9 was released. Might be time to try out the game again after a week or so long hiatus.

 

I just noticed that getting awards counts to your SPM(score per minute). I just got my 7th PLatinum earlier and it increased my SPM.
