Hence the reason you never see anyone planting or disarming charges on M-Coms during a rush round because +30 points isn't worth the possible death...

 

Also, I have experienced quite a difference in my "skills" a.k.a K/D, depending on the game mode, and # of players. If my only focus was my K/D I would stick with the 16 player maps as I seem to die half as much on those as I do on 32 person maps. However, coming from BF2 I can't seem to enjoy maps with only a few people, it doesn't get hectic enough. Danger at every corner doesn't happen quite as much when there are only 8 people on the other side. They can't cover every corner.

 

Hmmm... I think the true spirit of BC2 lies in hardcore conquest 32-player modes, at least its very close to BF2. Ive stopped playing anything but hardcore on the first day I went on-line. Rush is fun as well but spoiled by lurking snipers and spawn-killers.

Not really false. That is why the stats are there unless of course you are a stat padder.

Then you havent seen me playing. on almost every RUSH round i would destroy at least 4 of them or ATTEMPT to destroy all of them. Also 30 points for arming and 100 points for blowing it up, if you dont die is fine by me.

You guys probably think ALL who have good stats are just campers and not think that they may just be doing what they are supposed to do.

 

R9 fixes the auto balancing problem and about time 16 vs 9 isnt fair and other admin stuff

R10 is gonna make every ranked server punkbuster enabled so no more of those punkbuster disabled servers and cheaters. Also i think they are also nerfing the M60 and the Carl Johnson ( i meant the Carl Gustav) lol

32man hardcore... sounds like an invitation to a bees nest of snipers. Huge map, one shot kill? heck Id be tempted to be a sniper too. Your only saving grace is normal mode where you can take a hit and get to cover.

You are somewhat correct. Depending on the map, there are sometimes swarms of snipers and its difficult to do anything about it. The worst i've found so far is atacame desert. Its alright if there are 2-3 snipers on each team to balance it out and rid of campers but on the desert map its either snipers, tanks or gunships so my only saving grace is the light-pack mod for faster movement and lots of duck-n-cover
On other maps its easy to pick them off if you know where they usually congregate, e.g. forementioned foresty hills and roof-tops.

 

I have a question about conquest maps. I know your points go down every time a person is killed, but what about when you capture a flag? I'm starting to think it doesn't matter how many flags you cap, but how many people you kill. What's the benefit of capturing flags? I don't get it? Is it like BF2 where your points go down much more quickly if you have fewer flags captured.

 

Was having such a good round and BAM! BSOD. I really need to find out the cause of these.

Same here. Always CTD, never BSOD. I have also locked up a couple times.

 

Ugghhh so annoying! I crashed 3 times today "There is no disk in the disk drive" or something like that at random after playing for about an hour.

I have the freakin EA Downloader digital download version so I do not even have a disk! Can you believe such a problem exists?

DRM strikes again hurting the paying customer.

I belive is Securom related, not sure as my search on the web has had people saying everything from its a driver problem to a 64bit OS problem, and even that you just need to have steam rebuild the game integrity files.

Thing is the drivers problems were nvidia users I use ATI.

I cant redo the game files because that post is for steam users.

I do have a 64bit OS though but I think most of us do and I have not seen everybody else posting with the same problem so I highly doubt thats it.

I got 2 BSOD yesterday one was a very good round. I dont think its heat but I cranked up my fans to 60% and took off the dust filter to let more air into my case and no BSOD today, but I did get the 3 DRM forced shutdowns for "not having my disk" ...

 

Yes if you own flags it takes tickets away from the enemy slowly, but kills are way more effective at doing it quickly. But the flags can make a difference.

 

I also get CTD but no BSOD. Usually at server loading screen.

ALso I was wondering why does a server kick the best player to make room for another player?? they should remove the worst player.

 

Just got the M60, yikes that thing is OP.

 

Maybe they figure the best player doesn't need any better stats? Give the poor man a chance, the rich already have money.

 

Think I fixed my "no disk" error.

Wouldnt you know it, I had to download the "evil" no cd patch that would be used by people that did not buy the game.

So far no crash with it.

I think medic is the most OP class anyways with the ability to revive and heal ontop of kill things left and right.

Im engineer now, im not nearly as good with the Gustav as I thought I would be, distant targets are sometimes hard to hit unless your on higher ground it can wiz right by them. So not the greatest long range weapon, and the smg is definitely not very good at range.

But its incredibly satisfying to blow up a wall and kill the guy behind it camping.

I am unlocking things very fast with engineer, I guess I am getting better at the game but also it just feels like you need less points.

I must rant I dont like the fact that you get no engineer points for using vehicles, thats kinda what they do... and you dont even get points for repairing your own tank unless somebody else is in there. So it leaves you having to try to be an assault guy with a rocket launcher instead of grenade launcher and a smg that is not as good as a rifle.

Yeah the CTD doesnt seem to be related to anything specific - some of my friends are on 32-bit and they CTD as well. nVidia vs ATi doesnt seem to matter either. Im starting to think that a patch is due.
Never had a BSOD though... from anything for that matter.

In due time the engineer gets the AK-74U... the mother of all smgs. With that in your hands and an M128 behind your back mountains can be moved... trust!

 

Magnum with M60 is stupid. Body armor > Magnum. With magnum it still takes 4 bullets to kill, no difference.

I thought at first that it was because they thought i was cheating using the rocket launcher to act like a Javelin.

 

Up close it takes 3 instead of 4 that to me is nice since I am up close often. It just depends on the map for me. If I am a defender and we have infinity lives and the attackers only have 100 I go for magnum because I can care less how many times I die, if I can kill even just 1 more of them it helps. The opposite is true, if attacking I use the armor, and play a stronger support role with healing and reviving.

I have the AK-74 now, but I actually still prefer the Scar-L for some reason. I got 2 levels and a few more unlocks I think I am only a tad away from the oozi? not sure whats up next.

 

I have definitely come to love the AK-74U. The only thing that bothers me is that it burns through ammo very quickly and 90 just doesn't seem to keep up with it. I unload a full clip on each target, which aint bad considering it only takes 1 seconds to unload 30 rounds.

 

I also use the ak 74u whenever i am an eng in game this will be my weapon unless i will already reach it to platinum.

 

Is anyone else's individual weapon kill counts messing up? I got a gold star for the Vintovka but it didn't count the last 9 kills before I left the server! Same thing with the M14. After trying to make it all even out, it's driving me a lil crazy to see the incorrect numbers!

 

Usually the stats you see are not yet up to date until you leave the game and come back later. I noticed this when i left a game then checked my rank in the leaderboards as 58 then comback several minutes later and it reached 54. SOmething like that.

Is anyone here close to the Distinguished Anti-Vehicle Insignia? I'm addicted to engineer class and blowing up vehicles, but this insignia seems to have some pretty lofty requirements compared to some others.

Also, I am convinced that 80%+ of players (engineers) don't understand how to use tracer darts. It's frustrating as HELL to plant a dart, killing yourself in the process for stepping in front of a tank, and not having the 12 other engis on your team take it out.

Also, nothing gets me more excited than landing a dart on a heli. There is an advantage to other engis no understanding how to use those things.... I always get the kill after I get a plant.

 

The M14 has been that way for a couple weeks now and no change for the Vintovka after 12 hours. Does the game store a local copy of the stats that might be messing up the numbers?

I haven't reach halfway for that achievement yet though most of my kills come from using vehicles myself. Usually someone else bogarts the kill when I use rocket launchers.

 

Thanks for that chart mew, seems the damage indicators for the weapons are not super accurate. Will most def be switching back the the m1911 for my sidearm.

Hmmm, one problem I find with this chart, or the game I guess, is with ANY ammo, why should it take more than two shots to the head, absolute max three shots to kill someone "near"? Unless you're firing a .22 I would expect a lower shot to kill in any case.

Yeah according to that the Scar-L is better than the AK like everybody was telling me, but i guess it could have to do with bullet spread as well a stat not on there.

Grrr was #1 by a long shot in a game with Osco and Flying Fish, I just got the best run ever with my guy like 15 kill streak and killed 3 groups of 4 guys with the Gustav got some gold pin thing I never saw before for a defender and then CRASH no disk in drive...

Im going to go nuts with that DRM crash.

 

When you installed BF:BC2, didn't it give you an option to use non-disk required DRM? That's what I used and I've never gotten the error.

I think the non-disk DRM just verifies your key the first time you install the game. So I think it's less intrusive than requiring the disc every time you play. At least I think that's how it works, I may be wrong.

No I did not get any option like that I use the EA Downloader Version.

That last game crashing was like having my first born baby taken from me lol, never had a rush like that and must of cheezed off the enemy really bad to kill like 5 of there medics at once.

I think I am going to install the game again, I see no reason why that will do anything but its worth a shot, something else I need to see if its possible is how to invert the y-axis for all situations.

I have fly/on foot inverted but still when in the secondary gunner seats things are not inverted and it really throws me off, when I go back to using my guns again I move the wrong way for a few good minutes and end up dying.

 

Oh well that explains it, I have no idea then. Have you tried contacting EA support? Or even asking on the official forums? I doubt your the only one having that problem. Maybe someone else can shed some light on it. We only represent a very small portion of BC2 players here on NBR.

Doesn't it store your stats even if you do crash though? I mean isn't it a server side update, or is it from client side?

 

I think it saves stats because I keep weapons I earned during the game, however I am sure there is a lag so maybe a minutes worth of stats or so I may lose (that last game it was like 10 kills just seconds before crash) however no matter what you wont get your award points and I would have had a ton in that last game. Plus I was in there with 2 NBR guys.

I just uninstalled the game and installing it fresh. I dont like how it said I can only authorize the game 9 times? and I just used one of my authorizations even after I "deauthorized" my game?

DRM is so nonsense.

 

Vicious, I got a friggin freeze and then CTD in that exact same game! Going to try reconnecting now and see if I can stay in!
