I go by MGC_BustaCap in BF3. I'll be ready to game around 8PM (and good until maybe 10PM) unless the wife drops something in my lap at the last minute.

I'm decent in choppers, but jets, I hear there's an emergency break or something, never figured it out. People also recommended mapping the down arrow to one of your mouse buttons so you can pull back without constantly scrolling the mouse. Just haven't bothered to do it.

I think the ebrake is in the latest version as decelerate. You use to have to download bf3 editor, but I don't think that's necessary anymore.

The heavy brake is available as in ingame editable option.

However, you should not use it for any reason.

With the recent AA buff, the faster locking time of missiles, the influx of half decent pilots, new jet offsets, and the air radar disadvantages, means instant death.

I totally love it when someone use it against me.

I wonder if that's my problem. Is it different than the deceleration?

Im so bad at jets it's funny. I was playing earlier and actually shot some jets/helis. I thought I was doing good then I looked at the score. I was 1-8. Depressing. I have a hard time evading others once they engage and also hitting anyone with the guns. I can't seem to stay steady enough to make contact.

Sorry, but "heavy brake?" The "W" key = accelerate and the "S" key = decelerate. Thought there wasn't more to it than that?

As far as controlling the jets/choppers I just use my keyboard. WSAD + arrow keys + space bar. Not quite accurate, but learning with the mouse would take waayyyy longer.

Well, I'm in BL.

I didn't see anyone on it so I wasn't in Mumble.

Anyways, my main flight controls are purely keyboard as well.

A joystick is nice and all but with the simplified controls made them useless to me.

Anyways I'm going to be 2hr late though.

The "PrImeIumplayeIr" guy who kept taking out my jet? Turns out he was a full-on hacker. DirtyTrickster can verify, but as soon as you left he showed us what he had.

Sadly, I cannot find his name on Battlelog (even made sure I wrote it down). I really should start playing with MSI Afterburner in the background so I can record stuff...

Feel free to message me on BL or in Mumble.

Also, I forgot ... try spinning around in circle switching 3rd to 1st until you get used to see that you are between 295-330 without looking at the hud.

Will do. We didn't get much practice in. We were busy with the premium guy.

He was definitely hacking. Unless there are new magic bullets that can kill a player in the stairwell of the aircraft carrier from across the map.

I'm not very good in eighter the jet or the heli, but once and a while, the gameplay that's in my head turns real:

BF3 - Heli as a personal grinder - YouTube

The first 5 hours I played with heli's I kept crashing over and over, it just needs a lot of practice, and you'll get it eventually ^^.

As for our good friend Falco152, here's a screeny of him being at his best:
[/IMG]
Stuck under some fallen debris :p. (Torment trolling ofcourse)

And if anyone's up for some gun-gamin', we thought about an alternative way.
Instead of just shooting our way trough, its more fun (falco can confirm) to just knife everyone you run into :D.

Not very good at this game, either against cheaters or children who play 10 hours a day.

I find I have a good time when I don't care about my K/D and ducking and playing tactical, rather just run and gun. Surprisingly, my K/D has been around 50%. Good enough for me and have a lot more fun.

I agree. I'm the same way. it's too bad the nbr server disolved. That would at least weed out any potential hackers.(I'm making an assumption the the nbr members are honest players)

Edit: I mean to say I'm making an assumption that all of the nbr members are honest players. The guys I have played with i'm sure are honest.

The most fun I had with BF3 was on the NBR server. It was just really hard to get people on there consistently. There were a few nights we had a ton of people on and it was great.

The thing of it is that the people on this site are all over the place. So like, when it's 7:00 in Boston and I'm good to go, the people in Texas and Cali are still at work, and the people in the UK and Sweden are about to go to bed. That was the big issue. There was a decent amount of interest, just really hard to get everyone on at once.

I'm noticing that EA is spamming the hell out of everyone about BF4 now (and MOH). Also noticed that MOH will be $70, with access to the BF4 beta. I think I'm going to opt out this time around. Beta access isn't a really special offer, other than to give you the chance to know the maps/weapons before the general public (your stats and weapons progression won't carry over). MOH didn't do so hot last time in its last iteration. Also, $70 is a huge chunk of change (that's not even factoring in future DLCs). $70 isn't a problem for me financially, but for a game?

$70 is a lot. I won't be doing beta this time around either unless I can nab MOH for ~ $40 or BF4 for ~ $40 like I did with BF3.

BF4 will be released in 2013, that is 2 years after BF3. but i'd rather DICE spent the time fixing the bugs and rough corners in BF3 than to concentrate on another huge game. and you know what? i bet they will include VoIP for PC in BF4.

anyway, $70 is way too much for any game. and i never understood the appeal of betas. not that DICE actually listens to the feedback anyway.

Why don't you like it? How can you like Steam and not like Origin? Origin is faster, light weight in comparison to Steam. And it does the same thing. That's just weird to me.

Steam pioneered this sort of program if I am not mistaken. They have a refined product. It works well. STEAM F***IN SALES!!! and also in my experience steam downloads are far better than origin speed wise. I love steam, but origin seems forced. I bought crysis 2 on a disk and EA forced me to download origin and a very large (3.7GB) update before I could play the game at all. Also, it TRIED to make me download crysis 2 when I HAD A STINKIN' disk! Origin seems like a desparate attempt to take away some of steam's steam. I launch origin when I play BF3 online. That's the only time. I use steam to it's potential (friends, chat, store, etc). I don't think it is weird at all as Origin and Steam are deffinately based on COMPLETELY different philosophies. When comparing the two, you must consider the way Valve opperates as opposed to EA. There is deffinately an argument that can be made here....

Disagree completely. Steam and Origin are the same. They are both DRM, sales and social platform. You can speak and play games with your friends on Origin just like Steam. Both Valve and EA are publishers. They both have sales on their games.

Also updates for Steam are the worse, sometimes they make you download the entire game again!

Oh no, you had to download a 3.7GB update? Well that sounds like the update for DX11 and high res textures. Would you rather not have updates for your games? Steam has larger updates sometimes. For a while Witcher 2 was the ENTIRE game... And there were others I've read on Steam forums.

So... what is "DEagleson's mumble?" Was that the "Sevus" server we played on a few days ago? Just a little confused on that front o_O

Also, regarding Armored Kill. It looks beyond spectacular and that snow map looks AWESOME, granted videos like that tend to over hype the product and make you think exactly like that. Now, for a more reserved review...

Mobile artillery, ATVs (probably from the Bad Company series), and tank destroyers? HELL YEA, BABY! Also curious what "Tank Superiority Mode" will be. I just imagine a 64-player map with 12+ tanks on it. Needless to say, I can hardly wait. As much as I loved Battlefield 2 (and miss it to death), I'm stoked for extremely vehicle-oriented gameplay.

Also, I bought Premium a few days back when it came with Dead Space for free. Close Quarters is kind of "eh" in terms of the maps (Scrap Metal is lame, but I'm fine with Ziba Tower and Donya Fortress). Haven't played Gun Master (aka Gun Game) or Operation 925 yet. Not as fun as I thought it would be, sadly. Thankfully, Armored Kill will make up for that as well as the 2 DLCs I know nothing about -__-

Mumble is another program we used for VOIP. Like teamspeak or ventrillo.
It provide us an overlay (those who can use it without lagging) + positional audio for our voices (if someone on left you speaks, you will hear on the left. Behind, Above, etc).

Information is on our NBR platoon page.

Sevus Server is just a unranked server I frequently practice on, which has the common lag issue I face when flying in populated servers.
------------------------------------------------------------------

Same here with gun master ... never played it normally. Only fun I got out of it, was just knifing people to the point the other team would rage quit.

You can come in and just listen.
Reply by chat.

You might need to adjust volume on me, because I do laugh hysterically.

It is nice to know the context what we are doing on the server cause without it, we just look like a bunch of head-less idiots that get killed in the most stupidest ways.

As for language, please remind us that you have children in the area. There are some that speak Norwegian (or multilingual) :p
