ok so in order to add people on origin one must have first changed a few settings. How to do this:
1. open origin
2. click on your name which is next your icon in the upper right hand corner
3. under your avatar picture click edit my profile
4. click the privacy tab
5. change the "control who can see your full profile to every one", or whatever you deem appropriate
6. Make sure Origin ID is checked and any other IDs that you would like people to find you by.
7. Click done
Also click the find friends button on the right side of the window. i found some old friends from xbox live that use origin that i couldn't have otherwise found.
good luck and please add me my origin id is "babypeepee"

Wow that's weird. I just checked my Origin account and it shows BF3 Limited Edition in my account even though I bought it from Newegg and never registered it. Hmmm.
-
perhaps new egg registered your email to ea, ive noticed on occasion that windows will log me into certain websites that i often use. im using the windows 8 dev preview right now and it autologged me into facebook because i use the same email with my windows live account.
-
But how do they know that's the email I want to use? I do use the same for newegg as EA, but newegg doesn't know this.
-
This game needs to hurry up, had to built a new system for this, i5-2500K + GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr.
-
Same here, haha.
-
You can spend the time while you wait overclocking your 2500Ks past 4Ghz just in case...
-
Lol, I wish. Not much into oc'ing the cpu, yet. Not sure if I will. The gpu however will definitely be oc'ed.
-
The 2500k and the 2600k overclock to 4Ghz with no problems. However 5Ghz requires good cooling.

Origin username Revoka

Any one not being able to see the Origin Store? I keep getting this message
The Origin store is currently unavailable. It may be experiencing unusually high load or undergoing maintenance. Please try again later. -

That's kinda of odd. I preordered from Best Buy using In-Store Pickup on launch day. There's nothing in my origin account although the accounts do use two separate email addresses...
Anyways, so Thursday's the day unless you preordered through Origin or got MOH in which case Tuesday's your day. Cannot wait!! -
My Asus P8P67 motherboard allows to me overclock with a simple switch on the motherboard to 4.2 GHz saves me messing around with voltages etc.
Got to love Asus's friendly GUI BIOS.
to be honest i reckon it'll be fine at standard clocks turbo boosted to 3.7 GHz, i also have the Antec Kuhler 920 water cooling kit for my CPU so temps are great at 4.2 GHz, i will push for 5 GHz if i need to, but not right now, as she is new and i don't want to hurt her
I can max pretty much every game at the minute with the current setup, 1920x1080 AA on and high details.
Crysis 2 finally runs at 60 fps constant with max details, without DX11 though, i get about 35-50 dx11 but i don't care about little grooves in the walls anyway (tessellation) -
Yeah my MSI Z68 has a similar thing that automatically clocks it to 4.2, but I got it to 4.3 with lower voltages and I haven't even found the minimum stable voltage at the clock yet. The one button type overclock things are ok, but not the most optimized things.
Since the K in the i5 2500K means it is unlocked specifically for overclocking, it would be a crime not to. -
Yeah they are pretty handy, obviously if you are going to properly overclock for 24/7 usage you'll need to adjust it properly edit timings voltages etc.
This CPU is fantastic and very durable, it's been a fantastic upgrade from my Q6600 @ 3.4 GHz, the difference is night and day in performance, sadly will miss the Q6600 though it has been a fine processor and lasted the test of time.
But as with everything in life, time moves on, things evolve
-
Ugh...looks like I won't be playing the beta. Probably won't be playing the game at all until well after release. I have no internet at this slum house, and I most likely won't be moving into my own apartment until November.
-
I came from a Q6600 as well (@3.2 Ghz) and this CPU is over twice as fast in benchmarks. My CPU score in 3dmark11 went from around 3500 to almost 8,000.
-
hey so i got wind that Nvidia will be releasing drivers for BF3 as well. anyone got proof of this from Nvidia?
-
I think it has something to do with you pre-ordering BF3 from Origin originally. You may have canceled it, but as the saying goes the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
-
They recently released a 285 beta drive
-
Yeah saw the latest beta which is the 285.27, although i think that's not the driver he meant specific for Battlefield 3 since the release date is not on Sept 26 (A day before beta). Although I'm not sure if they gonna release a WHQL driver on that day.
-
Just read on PC Gamer that Matros from BF3 team said it will take two 580 cards in SLI to play with ultra everything in the game for the Frostbite 2 engine.
-
A little too late mate, he said on twitter almost a week ago
-
I shall prove that wrong!
-
well AMD is coming out with drivers specifically for BF3. thats why i ask.
-
Not for most of us!
Family, friends, work and play get in the way of most twitter for me.
I played the alpha bf3 with a 460m on highest settings and while not optimal, hard to believe Matros' brag. How much of the requirements are from incredible graphic advances v. Subpar programming and driver optimization? -
It's possible that they didn't have all of the eye-candy turned on for the alpha. It's also possible that Matros is basing that at 1080P with a consistent 60+ frame rate.
-
AND DX11. The alpha was probably at DX10, that's why people had great performance. But once you get DX11, you're ded
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
you really don't need tessellation. although BF3 looks to have a lot of eye candy, the fun factor of the game is going to be high because of the interactivity offered with the environment mixed with a focus on team play. do you really care if the flat wall is made with 20,000 polygons instead of 200?
-
Well explosions would sure look a lot cooler with 20000 polygons.
-
BF3 has partially convinced me to sell my HP and my old Dell and get a used MBP and a desktop.
-
I have full confidence that my laptop will run it.
And it will be playable. -
With a middle class 5730? Expect to not go higher than low settings, your card is compared to a desktop version of a 5570.
Build a real computer for Battlefield 3
-
Somewhere along the line, people got the idea in their heads that anything less than 80 fps on ultra at 1080p was unplayable. Bizarre, really.
-
Alpha ran so well in my laptop on MEDIUM settings. I don't expect Beta or the final release to be the same result. The 5730 hasn't failed me yet.
-
60 fps actually, and high details will do, ultra is pushing it a bit.
I take it back, maybe you will be alright then! mind you i got a HD5650 in my laptop and it does pretty well. -
Well its not long now; we will know in a day.
-
Yep, can't wait. Their servers are about to get slammed, haha.
-
while playing battlefield its give me error saying Unsupported Operating System.. i am using windows vista 64 bit
-
I'm already tempted to upgrade to a new laptop (almost done on a yearly bases), so I'm also waiting to see how well the beta runs before my final decision is made.
-
Or, you could upgrade every 2 years and give me a new laptop every other 2 years. Or, just give me your i7 5870 laptop for free.
-
In all honesty, the G73 has been my favorite laptop so far. From price, performance and design perspective it has been a great machine. It's really hard to have to replace it, but I think it's also because I technically bought a new laptop this year when I bought a ThinkPad X120e (useless). The Alpha ran fine on the higher settings at 1080p, but I believe that was running at DirectX 9 and not at its fullest capabilities. Furthermore, I'm not the type to settle for anything lower than high settings, especially since they will include Ultra settings with this game. It's either I build a new desktop computer and buy an ultra-portable or replace this with a new gaming laptop (again...). Personally, I think your desktop will server you just fine with those specs.

Did any checked "Can You Run It?"
I just did and got a poor result.
I wonder how it will be with the game itself.
Here's my result:
-

This is very true.
This card has some hidden secretes... It performs very well when you think it's not gonna even boot...
I am quite satisfied. -
alright gents, less than 24 till the early beta. good luck.
edit: anyone gotten an email yet from ea? -

Less than 24h. At least I've installed Origin! I'll have to wait the 29th anyway
-

I have to wait until Thursday too!! I just hope it's released early in the day for us in the U.S. That way I can start downloading in the morning and have it finished by the the time I get home in the evening.
-
What about the size of the beta client? Should be about the same of the alpha i think but...how big was the alpha client? I think we'll be bound to dowloading it through Origin right? (Otherwise i'll uninstall that crap INSTANTLY).
