Finally got a key off a friend, downloading it now

 

Pre-ordered from Origin well over a month ago. Still no key - yes, I've checked my spam folder...

 

to tell you the truth you are not missing much. You are saving yourself a headache, however. I have only been able to play on a server for 10 mins, thats it.

My 4th consecutive win. Runs amazing and is SUPER FUN!

 

I have only had 10 minutes online as well. Just can't manage to get on a server. I want to get on with my notebook to test it out but haven't been able to.

 

Same and when I do get into a server I time out when I am about to win!! Extremely frustrating!

 

Anyone know how to change the field of view?

 

Maybe it's locked for the beta?

 

Just got it, running it in 1920x1080 Ultra settings everything high, 60 fps indoors, 50 fps + outdoors, MORE than happy, game looks fantastic.

 

Ultra settings with a 560ti?

So far it's pretty much unplayable on my laptop at 1920x1080 and low setting. Going to bring the resolution down and see from there.

 

Game is problem free for me. No CTD or other rtpe of crash nor disfonnects.

make sure to restart the game after you change the graphics settings or they will not take effect. so please ensure you do this before putting out fps numbers!

 

i believe its only if you have more than one monitor for the game.

With clocks 830/1660/1600 im able to do 28-30 outside and 35-47 inside with Utra,2xMsaa,Blur,Post AA to medium,16xAF and SSAO...but at 1600*900p.

Which i think its a good deal. At 1080p it struggles to stay at 30fps unless you disable most of the eye candy such SSAO and so on. As an example LOW quality almost keeps constant 40fps.

 

6th consecutive win now. omgah this is so fun! Am level 6 too.

 

I am not entirely sure you have to restart it. I was changing settings in-game and noticed the FPS increase or decrease whenever a change was made.

 

Maybe not for all the settings, but for some, for sure!

 

yes some settings require a restart so make sure you do this or we will get false fps numbers!

 

Texture settings are the only one that require a reboot.

Ultra enables tessellation FYI.

 

I'd like to know this too, it drove me nuts for the few minutes I had it. Better be able to change it because vertigo was setting in.

 

I get like 30-35~ FPS on Low @ 1920x1080 on my K53TA with 6650m + 6520g Crossfire. Kinda funny, because I get like 45-60 FPS @ 1600x900 on BC2 with everything on High except shadows on Medium and HBAO off.

 

the game does not utilize tesselation. i have seen nothing have tesselation in any ultra video on youtube nor has anyone commented on exactly what is tesselated.

 

Gonna download it in a bit, Hope my gtx 460m can handle it on medium/higher settings

 

Is crossfire jerky for you?

 

Walls and bricks. Some rocks seems more smooth too.

 

Alright I was wrong you do need to restart. Either way my original ~25 outside ~30 inside are still the same on Ultra as I did restart. Turning motion blur to 0 bumped me closer to ~30 outside ~40 inside. It's weird though, the game still looks great on low settings and I was getting 100+ fps on low (outside).

 

Not really, seems pretty smooth so far. I need to test further though, there's not enough freakin' servers and I couldn't get into a match after a while. I'll test with single GPU and Crossfire, but I'm almost positive that Crossfire makes a big difference. This game needs all the power you can get.

That being said, time to build a Bulldozer desktop with a 6950 then wait to upgrae to a 7950 in a couple of months.

Edit: Oh, and I had to bump my overclock down to 2.4 Ghz from 2.6. @ 2.6 the game stressed the CPU so hard that it hit 100c+ and shut down.

 

if you played crysis 2 ultra you would know what tesselation looks like. the walls / bricks have no tesselation in bf3.

 

Alright after some more testing and installation of 11.10 I can now play all ultra 4x AA and 16xAF with 35-45FPS. With a mix of ultra and high settings and drop AA to 2x HBAO and motion blur off, I get a smooth 50-80 FPS.

Makes me kinda wish I had kept my M17x R3 6970m.

 

Whenever I try to launch the game, it won't let me go full screen, or actually launch the game itself. It just searches then says launching the game but nothing happens. I set my firewall to let the game go through and tried restarting my computer but still not launching the game.

I need some help here.

 

Are you joining a game from the browse list? Quickplay is disabled right now and will show "Matchmaking" forever, so make sure to join a game from the server browser.

 

Seems you DO have to restart the game for settings to take effect. My FPS didn't change at all going from Low to Ultra until a reboot. Without Crossfire I'm getting 25-35 fps at 1080p on low. With Crossfire about 30-40fps. Helps a bit, but better to play at 720p at 4xAA so I get 45+ fps.

Funny that I was frustrated at first on my laptop, FPS was only like 25-35fps even at 720p. Then I realized it was only using the IGP! This game is playable at 720p with the AMD Llano IGP!

Ah. Your other, playable, configuration wasn't showing up earlier. Seems like that will work quite a bit better.

 

lol no that was just a test with the settings he deems as important at maximum settings if he could and achieved it.

 

is your card over clocked and if so from what to what equivalent so i got an idea of the increase its comparable too.
i can only do 900p on my screen and have 6630m. im gonna wait till open public download. and so far your config is closest to minethat people are testing.
i see some settings that id probably lower to get me like 30+ fps lol hopefully if your card is not clocked.

I need an XM this 720qm is just not cutting it.

 

awesome. i think i can pipe down about playing this at native resolution then with 6630m. with some ultra and high settings then.
to those that really beleived you needed desktop graphicslike the 560 GTX just to run it on medium to high. when i said it willl be at least medium for my card of our type.....i told ya's soo

 

These settings I get 28fps inside (22fps in high action) and 35fps outside.
And I thought I have a high end laptop
