i just played this map now! 64 players conquest! OMG the GRAPHICS!!!!
the metro map does not do the game justice. caspian felt like a real BF game anot CoD'ish.
battlelog is being updated so everythin is shut down as of now.
there was extreme rubberbanding in the caspian server, though. so you really cannot play it besides for the visuals and to check out the vehicles and a large map.
i know the password for caspian![]()

Best night of my gaming life. Got in to the Caspian Border server and have been dogfighting for the last hour or so. Battlelog just went down so no more Caspian for now, but holy crap that was awesome.
Don't want to post proof just yet as I don't know if we were supposed to be there
D ), but I took a ton of screenshots and can try answering any jet related questions you got.
-
Rumor is that the beta is stuck at medium settings right now, and Low/High/Ultra will be added in later.
-
Ok I guess: "If you're able to play Caspian Border with 64 players, you can REALLY handle the game.
-
Wow, graphics are pretty good! I can try out the beta, but still no, for my gaming dignity.
Caspian border seems like a good map! Nice bloom, perfect lighting! But however the grass seems flat and the textures are not so great. Are jets easier to control? -
Getting 20fps at most with my system. It's not pretty but it plays.
-
hmm the game does seem really glitchy but no way there are gonna be those many glitches in the final product. I mean i know it is only 4weeks to release but this is EA, and DICE, they make quality games, i believe they'll fix it by the release, and other remaining stuff will get patched quickly
-
There's currently no joystick support, but using a keyboard and mouse was really easy. You can go into 3rd person view which is pretty cool and makes dogfighting more bearable. Without bombs, I wasn't much of a threat to the ground forces and it didn't feel OP at all. In fact I felt underpowered as the ground forces had lots of AA assets like the handheld Stinger and I was taking AA fire quite constantly. The jet auto-healed though, not sure how I feel about that.

The server password for the Caspian Border server was "leaked" on the European Battlefield 3 forum.
I dont know if its still the same, but i hope we get more public servers with a "proper" battlefield map.
Operation Metro rush mode sucks, in fact i dont really like rush mode at all. xD -
How well does the game run on the 5870m?
-
It suns smoothly, imo. But im still try to mess with the settings, but its annoying everytime i wanna change it seems i need to restart the game and for some reason doesnt seem to do any effect.
-
"sexyelevator" (without quotes), right?
(3h left till the change of the PSW) -
That's right, i'm 78th in que for a server
-
Nope, they already changed the password.
-
That's funny, it's still working for me, i'm now 52nd in que.
-
It'll ask you the PW again, and it'll fail.
-
It hasn't, i'm in the game now, and it's AMAZING this map wow....
-
remember though, later on you will be able to switch out your missiles to AG missiles due to "perks" so i think that will be cool.

That's not really a fair assessment. Bugs and performance aren't supposed to be solved in these types of tests.
Beta test is supposed to suggest that the test is more or less feature-complete. That's it. In this case, the beta test as it stands is really still an alpha test, because they didn't include vehicles on the map. There are still more basic features to introduce. "Beta should be refined" is an idea that probably was developed because over the past few years a few studios have released polished betas. However, iirc, these were released much closer to product launch. BF3 still has a month of development. (Software shipping date is more or less meaningless because of origin. There will likely be a day 0 patch). Once they implement all of the features they want, they can focus full studio effort on fixing bugs, improving performance.
The annoying menu stuff may not get resolved. Rubber banding is not something that I personally would worry about for an unfinished product. -
The most powerful weapon in BF3 without a doubt is a flashlight, followed closely by a laser sight and a sniper scope. All 3 put the flash grenades in CoD to shame.

You guys are getting me too excited for TOMORROW!!! GAHHHHH!!!

I am seeing people with 6990xfire getting like 40 FPS outside with max settings. Seems like this game is definitely power hungry. Anyone have any videos of running lower graphics cards at close to max settings?
-
then again I've seen people running 1080p max settins with a single 560ti and not dropping below 40fps... as well as a laptop with a gtx560m running the game at 1080p with a custom gfx profile ( basically a mix of high and ultra settings) not dropping below 30fps
search for battlefield 3 beta on youtube and sort it by "date added" you have a lot of stuff uploaded today to trawl through -
I'm one of them
-
lol. Flashlight. It's Doom 3!
-
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
Is the flashlight really that effective? I would assume it only is in dark places, such as the subway of Operation Metro or inside buildings.
-
It depends. There are people who are like far away from you and playing with the flashlight...easy kill
-
Well i played it on PS3 yesterday, unfortunately, and the graphics are ok(been playing BC2 on pc for months now) for PS3. Haven't been able to play the beta on PC yet, but let me tell you that the game is FUN!... I look forward to playing as a team on PC when it comes out in OCT, because i can already tell you that everyone Runs & Guns on Console... This game is Tactical but Fun at the same time, making you think about your next move....
Anyone looking for a gd Team Member hmu; Origin: LeonAffiliatedLB
Lates. -
That made my day. Sheesh, why couldn't DICE just allow everyone to play that in BETA.Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015

GAH! SOMEONE LOAN ME a 1,000$$$ FOR MY NEW LAPPY AND THEN ILL BE ABLE TO PLAY!!
-
Man some people are getting upset because how buggy a beta is... Deal with it, that is why they have beta, if this was the real game go all out and flame them if you want.
Anyways, can someone tell me if the knife is supposed to be only use for killing someone from behind, because it does nothing when you are in front of them? Also, anyone having trouble joining servers when you are in a party? Because every time me and my buddy are in a party we can't never get into a server. -
These should help...

Yikes, what's going on with those ground textures?
-
On Caspian with everything on Low, around 30fps? ?
-
That's what it looks like on my old laptop. Low settings and reduced resolution in window mode, not very pretty.
-
Everything low, and it varied from area to area, anywhere from 15-35fps.
-
Oh for sure, but until you get that perk you're pretty limited, but in a good way. You can't really spot infantry on the ground but the air battles seemed pretty balanced, especially with a guaranteed wingman. A few things I noticed:
- The closer you fly to the ground, the bumpier your ride.
- You'll stall out if you go above 1000ft, but like in BF2 you just lay off the throttle and fall back down to a controllable elevation and you're back into it.
- No flares by default so you have to 'bug out' if you get a lock on.
- Damage is felt through a loss of controls, i.e. if you took a rocket and loose an engine, the controls feel more locked up and you can tell you're going down. It's not an instant BOOM and explosion, so you have more time to eject.
- Having a DPI switch on my mouse helped. The plane was definitely more responsive at a higher DPI and it felt like I had an advantage. Not sure if there were sensitivity controls you could change in game, I didn't see any. -
That has not been my experience. Even outside the flash scopes and lights are bright as hell. You then would logically conclude that they are "easy" targets, but that is not my experience as the blinding and blur makes it extremely difficult to shoot or determine where to shoot. Who cares if lights give you away in this game, they bait all the soon to be blinded enemies towards you.
-
Cool - vehicle disabled. I like that.
-
No one has yet made a comparison between stock drivers and "dedicated one" for BF3. I would like to see if there are heavy differences if possible
-
I'm curious to see how vehicle and mounted games behave with FoV and mouse sensitivity.
-
Mouse isn't to bad but i found it easier using the arrow keys on key board and left shift for the afterburners, and space for fire.
-
Yes, very major differences in my experience anyways. Maxed @ 1920x1200, I was getting between 20-120 FPS(285.27), and on the newest BETA (285.32?) my max didn' raise, but my minimum FPS is now between 35-40(outside on the first map), and it feels smoother overall. This is on SLI, mind you.
-
Will the PC version have integrated voice chat? I am about to get a new laptop because of this game and haven't played many PC games in the last decade, was a 360 devotee, so I wasn't sure if it had this feature.
-
somehow, spending full price for the preorder in Origin rather than a 20% cut on D2D might have been worth the early beta access.
-
Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
There is an update for the beta and it's 3.9GB's.
-
Anyone know how a AMD 6990m will run this?
-
how and where?
