    I was just playing on Caspian Border for a couple games then while in the middle of one, my laptop immediately shutdown unexpectedly. No warning or anything.

    I don't think it was overheating at all because I was constantly checking HWMonitor between rounds to check if it was running hard on my 6990M. Should I be worried?

    Only notification I got on bootup was the "Windows wasn't shutdown properly... Go into safe mode or boot normally... "

    overstressed PSU maybe? My sager will do the same thing with anything under a 100w PSU.... :rolleyes:

    Is this possible even if I haven't OC anything?? Oh I forgot to saying I was getting a flashing red screen pop up once in a while for less than a second. Is this due to BF3 l? Haven't noticed it on any other games.

    Btw the 48 Caspians seemed to run faster than the 64s. I didn't notice any stutter with the one I was in.

    Running on a similar system as you and at Ultra settings with a few custom adjustments at 1080p resolution I'm getting 23-33FPS (outside and inside differ). Your FPS might be a little higher since your CPU is a little better, but I can confirm the game is very playable at higher settings with the 5870M, but probably not that silky smooth unless you turn down a few things or overclock.

    The patch seems to have made things worse. Everyone was falling through the earth and the collision mechanics are horrible. I couldn't even run down the sidewalks without falling through the earth. But apparently those who got lucky and found a "good" place to fall through were invincible and were wrecking the scoreboard.

    Sure hope they have 1000 full time programmers ready to fix bugs, cuz this game is gunna need it!

    I agree. Even for a beta, the clipping is horrendous. But if you can manage to get to their "hole" without dying, dropping a 'nade in there will score you 2-4 kills, lol.

    All you people waiting for beta be prepare to encounter huge bugs and flaws... Not only in game, but using Origin as well. I have to have my sound properties, task manager, windows explorer, and steam chat up every time I play the game.

    I can't seem to get motion blur to turn off. I turn it off in settings, restart thegame, then motion blur is still on. .

    Been playing since Tuesday evening. Just not impressed really. The graphics (which are not as important as gameplay) are ok vs the performance. It feels like a step backwards from BC2. The gameplay feels like MOH with added blur. Snipers need usual nerf as the standard soldier has little opportunity to move out of spawn area if the other team is heavy snipers. Nothing seems fixed when compared to the alpha. Removed vehicles. Same boring map. Most of the time is spent on your stomach so you go from one extreme (no prone BC2) to the other extreme almost always prone (BF3). Wish they could figure out how to make a happy medium.
