This game is already ticking me off. Exact same network issues I've had with Bad Company 2. Riddle someone with bullets and they run away with 100% health. I had a perfect opening, four guys standing with their backs to me, lobbed a grenade right behind them, BOOM! I shot an RPG right after the grenade went off, they all turned around and killed me. The kill cam showed the one guy at 100% health. I just about through my mouse across the room.

PLEASE FIX THIS CRAP EA/DICE WHOEVER!

This game is sick been playing it since Tuesday non stop i don't care what anybody says, Dice have done a fantastic job.

The scale of the two maps that i have played are great, the gameplay is great, the majority of it is great, yea there is a few niggles here and there but what do you expect for something that's in beta.

I love the sounds of the guns and bullets whizzing past you.

I can't wait until final release.

Did you download the plug-in for your browser?

edit: Anybody else have a problem with the server list not displaying the right amount of people? I try to join a game with 16/20 but it says it's full... I wish BF3 would just use an in-game server browser, kinda dumb to have to restart the game when you want to change servers.

    Tried on my notebook.

    50fps on 1024*600
    25fps on 1366*768

everything medium except textures high (auto preset). I noticed artifact on this setup, i'll have to tweak a bit. 280 series drivers.

    My tactic:
Take the Recon class, equip the SVD while ditching the scope and enjoy the kills.
Scopes are so crappy in BF3 beta i just skip them.

Dont forget to drop some health or ammo packs if you got them, free points for being a team player. ^^

This Beta is really really buggy. Everything cranked; the graphics are meh. Then again, i am not a die hard BF player so I am sure other's care to disagree. The screen flicker is horrible (should be fixed by debut) but the game really is not optimized at all and from what I read; not much since alpha. It looks like you will need a 6900/580 in CF/SLI to have full eye candy.

I've been reading that the ultra (and maybe even high) gfx settings are actually disabled for the beta, even if you set things to ultra it will revert itself back to med (or high, if high is enabled). And yes, even for a beta things seem terribly buggy, this feels more like an open alpha to me compared to other betas I've been involved in (dota2 for example plays extremely well in beta)

LOLWUT? What about all of those out there with 1366x768 screens?

It actually didn't look too bad and my shots were actually more accurate, or at least a bit more accurately. Coincidence I don't know, but maybe has something to do with better framerate too.

a signle 6990m can max it with 2xaa. i played caspian border 64 players and was very playable on one card :)

you need to restart the game when making graphical changes. so set it to ultra mode and restart it. caspian map is where the pretty graphics are. the default metro map does not impress visually very much.

no it really is ultra settings. the only thing that they have might hace left out (not sure but they did this for BFBC2 beta) is ultra textures to reduce bandwidth when distributing the beta.

So this is a bit off topic but is there no way to get this game on Steam? I would rather have this game on Steam but it looks like you can't do that (from what I've seen). I prefer Steam for PC gaming. The main reason I like discs for console gaming is to add the cases to my collection but I haven't gotten a nice PC case since Age of Empires 3.

I think they will eventually put the game on Steam, but right now they are just promoting Origin and taking all the money they can. I prefer Steam too, but for BF3 I can make an exception.

I think what he's referring to is running it as a non-steam game in Steam. Just mount bf3.exe as a non-steam game. It will launch Origin and then the battlelog browser window, but then you should have steam in-game, not sure though.

I dont think that is going to work, because of how origin works with the web browser and origin has its own shift+tab interface. And don't have hopes that just because its a beta things are going to go away, because this is how we are going to play bf3 from now on.

    These are my results:

    1920 x 1080
Everything set to low/off with textures set to High and 16 AF
    I get about 20-30 FPS

    1280 x 720
Same settings (Ill play with AA later)
    I get about 30-45 (I hit 50 a couple of times)

    Specs:

    9800GTS
    4GB RAM
    Intel C2D 2.53ghz
