Battlelog actually worked better in the Alpha, as did the game too.
But i do like the changed they added to the map in the Beta.
Its much easier to attack now, but ofc you will still lose if the attacking team goes to "camp" mode and craps out at spawn.

-
Yeah I see guys already at rank 40. I sure hope retail you can't rank up that fast. Get to rank 50 (assuming highest) in a week. That would suck. Then afterwards you'd just have tons of 50's running around with no real personal objective.
-
Oh they will rank up fast. Prone, plus macro to hit Q button every 3 seconds, plus the fact you can spot people behind bridges, walls, trees equals a camp fest. I know its a beta but it's horrible. I know BF3 kicked hundreds of people out of their facebook community because of all the negative feedback. You really don't need to hack or anything. The game itself makes it easy. Q .. Q... Q... Q... Q... Q (yes I see the irony of Q)

They said they where going to limit destruction in the beta. You also level faster in the beta because you have only a certain amount of time. So if you want to unlock everything the points to level up have to be low. Don't worry HT it won't be like this in the release. Also the point of the beta is to test the game and craplog not play the game for just all fun. Gotta find bugs and issues with guns and what not. So that is another reason for the fast level ups.
-
I know it's not really just for fun, but seems difficult to assess how the game will react when not everything is there. But in any case, definitely has potential. Just wish I could try Caspian.
-
I'm really hoping the outcry against the battlelog at least results in some changes to it.
-
same guys, i wrote on the FB battlefield page concerning battleblog, you guys should as well, atleast write on twitter or Facebook or write to dice or ea if you can concerning battleblog and tell them to change it!!!!, because its retarded. i hope to God they change it.
-
This is how battlefield run on my Machine (specs bellow), im very dissapointed, it never reach 30 FPS on High or medium :/, i recorded with fraps, looks cool (high), but i feel not confortable playing, not as BFBC2 which reach 80 easily:
Battlefield 3 - Multiplayer Beta - YouTube -
I dropped all my setting to high, 2xAA, and no blur. I can run a solid 40fps outside and 60fps inside.
-
Whic are your specs?, that info is important
-
That's odd. It doesn't run much better for me either, but even with custom ultra settings at 1080p the game runs at 23FPS avg and inside it'll manage 33FPS avg. Your Core i5 CPU might be the bottleneck since this game is suppose to supports multi-core CPU's. When I tried the ASUS turbo feature which overclocks CPU by decreasing the number of cores the frame rates actually dropped by a 1-2 instead.
-
¿So what i have to do?
-
Can you upgrade the CPU?
-
Keep in mind that the settings are still locked in the Beta. The Ultra settings essentially do nothing, and you can't even lower things really. They are basically stuck at high, so if your performance is low, the settings in the final release will have much more flexibility.
-
This is my experience as well. The settings change nothing visually or performance wise.
-
Do you get the same FPS without recording in fraps? Wouldn't that impact the performance while it is recording?

Anyone here playing beta keeps getting disconnected while playing?

Well now that ive given this game a decent 2 hr or so whirl i am pretty disappointed in the amount of glitching this game has gotten. i never had issues with being shot by someone under the ground in the alpha. way too many spots people can take advantage of this for my liking. I think the flashlight is over powered also (seriously keep at a gun till you get the flashlight and then you'll start piling up the bodies) Im not sure if its ping or hit detection but it seems to me that some headshots register late or not at all.(nothing like unloading a magazine into someone only to get merc'ed by one pistol shot
)
as for performance so far on my desktop it runs real well. although people say that having it at ultra or low makes no difference i do get a higher frame rate setting it all to low even though it looks almost the same.
I dunno if i want this game anymore because although its fun to play i just feel like i have to jump through too many hoops to get a dumb game started. I really dont like the internet browser thing and having to change settings in game is stupid in my opinion because if you die while changing the settings you get kicked out and have to wait till you respawn in order to try again.
i know there are other things i dont like about the game but they are insignificant enough to where i just dont care lol -
yeah, the flashlight is a bit lol. The dead bodies sliding across the floor are pretty funny too. It's fun, but definitely raw, needs a lot of polish.
Runs really smooth at 1366x768 on my PC. -
Only when I am doing very well in a round and have many unlocks and awards due to me at the end of the match.
-
Heh - you should have played strike at karkand, jalalabad and dalian plant (even if it was unbalanced, 64 player was awesome) in battlefield 2.
In Dalian plant you start off on an aircraft carrier and have to invade a nuclear power station as the US!
BF3 doesn't really seem to capture that, and battlelog is just pathetic -
Yeah, that happened to me often yesterday.
Today it's just all around sluggish. I think the server side update they did to fix the ground glitches had some sort of side effect. -
I really hope they release a demo for the final version if what you say is right about not being able to adjust the settings. Everything runs like for me right now.
-
I'm kinda annoyed from not being able to quickly customize kit or adjust settings while waiting to deploy.
Have to waste an additional 10 secs after able to deploy.
Having multiple monitors and alt tab in full screen mode make it goes nuts.
So far, pretty interesting and pretty surprised how well it ran my mine on certain settings. -
here is a screen of my settings
and the fps @ these settings are like before
-
After playing the Beta on my desktop -- runs very smooth-- I am not sure if this is a game I will buy. This feels absolutely no different to me than BC2. Period. IT IS A BC2 CLONE. Am I the only one that sees this?
I have fewer and fewer hours of free-time and I'm just not feeling it with this game.
It seems just like BC2, all of the bugs (that they say they have already been fixed, yet BC2 took 6 months to get playable.) will be there in Dec.
I think I will pass. I just don't have time these days to be a BETA tester for BC3. -
Well ofcourse in the Beta you are not going to experience what BF2 was, because what they gave you is a small map and the mode is rush, with no vehicles, in other words BC2 with better graphics.
Now if you happend to get into Caspien Border which is still not the biggest map, it feels like BF2, jets every where, choppers,AA,tanks the lot

People keep saying "it's like BC" or "it's like COD" but they need to realize that for some unknown reason EA picked the least "BF" mode and map to showcase in the Beta. 64 player conquest on a giant map is going to be nothing like BC2 OR COD.
-
i was gonna say, dont judge until you play caspian border, and then you shall see a difference.
-
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
Looks like they took down all the Caspian Border servers. I'm tired of playing Rush on Metro, I want to play Conquest...
-
Yeah, played a couple of matches on Caspian border yesterday and it was fun, but it had many glitches so i guess there is a reason it is still not a part of the open beta. But yeah that map felt much better than Op Metro which is a PoS IMHO.
Ok, so i have been hearing that the beta is locked to Medium graphics(apart from a few settings). Can anyone confirm that, it certainly seems plausible to me considering that my MacBook can easily run it on high with a 6750m. Even Ultra is not that bad, honestly even Crysis 2(even before the DX11 patch) seemed more demanding. And on top of that if you play at med and then you turn the settings all the way upto high there is not a substantial difference in the graphics. What do you guys think -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
I'll confirm or disconfirm this shortly. -
For some reason, when I play my gun disappears and when it goes to the kill cam, It doesn't show who shot me lol
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
I think this is basically right. It seems like textures in particular are definitely maxed out at medium on the beta. They probably did this to keep the download size relatively small (the download was under 4 GB. The final game will probably be 15 GB or more.) -
Cranked up the graphics to high preset without SSAO, framerate the same as in low preset.
edit: I just noticed, that this is very sensitive to the cpu clocks. At 2.5GHz get ~30fps at 2.8GHz get above 40. So what? -
I couldnt install the nvidia beta drivers. Any one know a workaround ?
-
Anyone having an issues where you can aim down sights? Happened to me a couple of times. ended up with me being killed.
-
usapatriot Notebook Nobel Laureate
Yeah, you right click and there is no response. Try switching to another weapon and using the sights and that fixed it for me. Doesn't really happen often though. -
Alright guys just checking if people have this issue or its just me.
When you sprint and you immediately aim down the sights, it will aim twice.
It aims normally without aiming twice when you are not sprinting.
Second I noticed that if you use an assault weapon(The one with 100 ammo) and throw an ammo pack on the floor then prone and put your gun in the ammo pack, the gun will become see through. -
Hello.
I have Asus X53SV and it can run metro map well with low settings. About 37-42 fps.
(NVidia GT540M , i5-2410 2,3GHz, 6gb ram)
What you guys say, how will it run maps like caspian border? Someone with similar laptop said he ran it fluently. 408Cali if I remember the name right.
Is it possible it runs with like 30fps? It would be enough for me, because this game is so great. I like it. -
I have found that using the shotgun with flechette rounds inside the tunnel is a sure fire way to rack up the kills. Usually a 1 or 2 shot kill. just avoid long lines of sight.
-
I changed resolutions, tested everything and seems like it runs really smoothly with medium and lower resolution. Im glad. With low settings and lower resolution: more smoothly.
Don`t ask why I`m not buying better pc.
-
My laptop (specs in sig, same exact specs as yours) runs battlefield 3 on lowest settings at about 35-45 FPS on the beta. And yes, I did play caspian border. First of all, it's amazing...
Second of all, 64 players, no lag at all. That was my experience although I did hear other people had different experiences. It looks beautiful and it's definitely playable. Remember, thats the beta. Once the final version comes out, it'll be better optimized and we'll get even better FPS. Just try the beta out. If you can get into caspian border, it's so worth the hassle. -
sad day for me, I just found out I wasted $60 because my laptop can't run BF3... and I preordered haha. Time for a new rig!
-
You can cancel the pre-order and get your money back. Also what laptop do you have?
-
I remember that feeling 5 or so years ago with BF2 not being able to run on my desktop.
-
Could anyone give any solutions as to why the beta isn't running on my computer anymore? I played the game on release day and I heard they were going to fix the connection issues to the beta but I can't get into a game at all. It stays connecting forever and won't start up the game. It starts up the BF3 process but not the actual game. I heard that the fix to this was to shut down the bf3 process and retry joining. That worked at first, but now it isn't. Any ideas?
Also, I'm very curious as to what suppressing fire in BF3 is exactly. I heard that you get points as the support class for providing suppressing fire and that it also makes the enemy you're shooting near's screen blurry/dark. Any info on how this works/what exactly happens? -
I think any class is given suppression fire scoring. I get it frequently playing as engineer (or whatever they call it).
