Yep, you get a pistol M1911, M1911 w/ suppressor, M1911 w/ Tactical Flash Light. I'm gonna post some screenshots from the coop montage with me and my friend.

 

I signed up but never got any info on the M1911 or 25% off code.

edit: gun showed up under "rewards" but only have 20% off BFBC2 Vietnam, lol. I already have that.

 

I don't know about the 25% off but the M1911 is on the front page of the EA Gunclub.

I don't know man, I got a 25% off all shooters code for joining the EA Gun Club. Might have just been the promotion back in August.

 

Im playing a bit of SP too, and althought im overclocked a bit (840/1680/1600) i cant seem to get a decent performance. Hardly it goes above 32fps, which sucks.
Even if i lower the details, the best i could do (downsampling the resolution as well) is 45fps.
Still way too low for multi imho.

 

You might have posted this already, but I couldn't find it. What settings are you running? @ what resolution? What's your FPS like?

 

I'm running at these settings:



My FPS is around 30-45 around indoors such as tunnels. It drops down to 30s outside and at the most it goes down to 23-25 FPS on extreme gun fights. I am using 11.10 Preview Drivers 3.

Edit: In case you can't see whats written on my resolution its 1920x1080

I really hate to see when pirates get to play the game sooner than us who preordered it.

 

these aren't pirates. in some regions, the game is available already. It's about 10 hours from release in the USA. It's already been released in South Korea and other eastern countries. It's the 27th for most of western europe I believe.

 

So does this launch at 12:01 am local time, or PST? Obviously on the west coast they are one on the same, but how about for everyone else?

 

Houston, we have a problem! Runs really bad on my config (sig.) The question is why? Set everything to low or off at 1280x800 and still choppy. Fak.

 

Click the game in Origin to start it, it will tell you what time you can play.

It launches 12:01am Pacific Time for North America, so 3am Eastern.

 

It said that my game would unlock at 2:00 am October 25th. I'm thinking it's either local time or PST.

What's the difference between regular AA and Post AA (or AA Post)? I turned off my AA because I wanted more frames and I increased Post AA and I actually got more frames and less jagged lines. Why is this?

Guys, if you just go on a SHORT VACATION TO KOREA you can play RIGHT NOW. I have already played today; it just plays like crap on my laptop. And the maps are tiny. And there aren't enough of them. And the commo rose is a joke. And the chat box can't be hidden.
But anyway, this method is completely legal and the EULA says nothing prohibiting it. DICE have said that they don't suggest it, but various EA support people have said that they ARE NOT going to be doing any sort of banning because of it... I mean, using a VPN is a completely legal thing to do in the US.

 

Medium. Regardless, I see a huge difference in visuals and frames I adjust those 2 settings.

 

Got an email from EA/Origin about an hour ago that said the release date on my BF3 preorder has been changed to Oct 24, which is today. However, when I try to run it, it goes to the release date check and says I can't run it. LOL?

I might miss class, but watch all the servers be down the day I skip...

 

Good find! +1 Although I think I'll just wait and eliminate any risk of getting banned.

Based on my history of skipping work/class has resulted in a non-productive gaming day too. Better to take Wednesday off than Tuesday more than likely. It will probably be a crash-fest tomorrow (Tuesday).

 

There shouldn't be any risk; literally EVERYONE is doing it. If they suddenly banned thousands of their most hardcore fans for something they never explicitly prohibited the backlash would be VERY severe and probably involve lawsuits.

 

Installed the new nvidia driver, and my fps almost doubled!! Now it runs fluently on ultra.

 

Guess I'll have to figure out a way to VPN Indonesia later tonight...

 

they already said it was fine but unsupported. they aren't going to ban you, but don't bug them if it doesn't work, or if you need to download the client again

 

I've been playing online for a few hours and I must say its pretty amazing. It is much much smoother and better than beta. A lot of bugs seem to be fixed and the game overall just feels much smoother. Even 30FPS seems good for me. I am avg 40/50 on 1080p mix between high/med NO AA, or HBAO, Or Blur and Full 64 servers.

TO PLAY THE GAME NOW!!! This is straight from the EA forums BTW.. It worked for me.

Control Panel-Internet Options-Connections-Lan Settings-Click Use Proxy-

Restart Game, Let it Activate and Play!! Turn this option off after it activates, and it will start up normally after this. Otherwise I think it will lagggggg. Goodluck!

Edit: If you can't find internet options in control panel, select small icons or just go to your mozilla settings?

Although the tunnel sections on certain maps are sort of choke points and not very BF-ey, they do provide quite the FPS boost.

Also, I was looking through the weapon descriptions on battlelog and came across the .44 magnum:
"A .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, this particular model features a ported barrel, a compact frame for easy carry, and of course, a round that will blow your head clean off. The .44 Magnum is the most powerful available side arm, but the recoil and weight of the weapon makes fast follow up shots extremely difficult. "

The fact that they make 2 Dirty Harry references but failed to make the revolver a S&W Model 29 makes me mad...


Also, if you can't get it to work download FlyVPN and login with the trial login info listed on their site (there is a US and Asian login available, choose the Asian version). Once you connect with the VPN, start origin and run BF3. After it does its release date check, disconnect from the VPN; you don't need it to run the game.

 

I can play on High Settings now. But it's locked to 30 frames. No more, no less.

 

Locked..? Not sure I understand, is it the game locking @30 fps or your computer? In any case, high @ 30 fps on a 5730m is actually pretty impressive.

 

It's weird. There's that moment (which everyone has seen) when the building comes crashing down you, I still get 30fps. Inside a building. 30fps. Jet scene. 30fps. No matter what...30fps.

 

Couple servers I got on there was some horrific lag.

Also new nVidia WHQL drivers available today, 285.62, but downloading slow as molasses.
