how are you measuring it?
edit: ty for the activation tip. i'll try that later

Make sure that after you activate the game you undo everything re: proxy, otherwise all your traffic will hop/pass through it first, leading to horrible lag. Also EA has said that while they won't punish people who do this, their tech's don't really appreciate the early/unexpected server loads/demands lol...
Where's the ATI driver
next week is ages man!
-
Not measuring. Just in-game warping and stuttering.
-
from battlelog:
Also, battlelog is operational now. You go to Battlelog / Sign in and sign in with your origin account. Some people can't seem to sign in, some can... -
Gahhh 4 More Hours Until I Get It!!!!! Rawr!!!
-
get on battlelog if you can while we're organizing the platoon! If you're not going to use the vpn/proxy trick to get in the game early, you can still probably log in and set up things like friends lists and profiles now so you don't have to later
EDIT:: ah crap guys, don't bother playing now if you want your stats saved, they are wiping them. source -
Is the performance better in the official release than in the beta? can someone comment?
-
Thx EA, just got done playing about a hour of the game. I will be up all night and wife is giving me the "look"
-
i just tried to log in to battlelog, and it wouldnt let me, it did however shoot me an error saying "we are aware of the error trying to log in to battle-log and we are in the process of fixing it"
let me know when its up! i wanna join the platoon! -

I just unlocked the game using hideip but when I start the campaign Im stuck in this screen.
Am I missing something?Attached Files:

Gah. Glitches galore. Still lots of warping/skipping, but I'm sure that will work itself out.
A couple times my overlays were completely gone. No crosshairs no Alpha markers for the capture points, no nothing. Not until I died. Kinda hard to see who's friendly, who's enemy, where the heck I'm going or aiming even.
Also a couple times I was booted from servers.
Performance overall seems better than beta but still lots of issues.
You only have to use proxy to go through date/time check. Then disable it. -
spradhan01 Notebook Virtuoso
Yup, I already uninstalled the hide ip and still its the same.
I also tried MP, the game manager says playing but I just have a black screen and sound of battlefield in the background..
-
On a couple servers it took a while to get started. I rebooted my machine and it worked the next time.
-
They are doing server maintenance right now so it's not surprising it's unstable, the warping might have actually been lost packets/lag. I noticed there was a 48mb mini-patch when I went to start origin up again, and heard you can force it to check for an update by right clicking bf3 and selecting repair install or check for update.
Also, if you didn't do the proxy trick to get in early, you can check when your game unlocks by just trying to launch bf3 and it will tell you now. Mine says midnight est, so just over an hour!
@3demons, keep trying to log into battlelog, they just finished maintenance on it supposedly so you shouldn't get an error. -
Look at this! I want one...

Hah yeah, saw that earlier, though I wouldn't want the paintballs for home use
You have to wonder if actual militaries around the world would start using simulators like this to train recruits in at least basic strategy scenarios, tech is getting pretty advanced and if a civilian hobbyist can put something like that together... well who knows what the US military could build :s -
Oh was that posted earlier? I didn't see it.
The funny thing is that they didn't even ask EA/DICE for anything, they used what was given to them and made it work. I was thinking they'd ask EA/DICE for some special coding. -
Nope, saw it elsewhere, still cool.
47 mins to go, snack time! -
A lot of the servers have severe rubber banding issues but others do not. I think it might have more to do with the server providers than the game code itself, because I have had non laggy experiences on other servers.

I just have a black screen on any map and a campaign mode with stuck screen..
Can any one test the campaign mode? How long does it take to get to startup screen? -
I tried the campaign mode a little while ago and it worked pretty quickly.
However, it reminded me why I hate single player in this type of game...
Talk about linear... -
spradhan01 Notebook Virtuoso
My game is messed up.
I tried reinstalling the game and it installed a new update too but still its the same.
I am stuck in the campaign screen and black screen in MP.
I dont even see an option to chat with EA. -
I had to quit mp, way too laggy. Anyhow, anyone game with two monitors? Such as I play games on one monitor and on the second, there is hardware monitoring programs so I can see my temps and whatnot. But with the weird video settings in the game, you can either only use one monitor or play the game on both, which obviously I don't want to do. Any ideas?

I got a response from EA for my problem, "I'm not able to find any solutions to your issue at the moment. I'd advise you to post in the Battlefield 3 forums for more help. We have a very knowledgeable community and someone may have found a solution to this already."
-
Post it in the UK forums; that is where most of the players go. The US forums are apparently not moderated as much and are basically spam at this point.
Also, TearTaker are you saying that there is no way to have a second display set up and have the game run on one display while having your desktop on the other? I would think that would be an OS/gpu option, not an in game one. -
Gameplay is not too bad, minus the typical mouse movement being a little too sensitive for my taste. There was some lag, but I didn't choose a server close to me.
Now to wait for the signature scripts to start popping up. -
Real shameful on DICE's part to completely trash the Iranians in this game. Not only did they ignore/confuse the Persian culture by giving the characters Arabic names, but they made them the ultimate bad guys trying to attack the West with dirty schemes. Terrorists with nuke(S) is really pushing the envelope. Meanwhile in reality Iran doesn't even own a a single nuke nor has attacked anyone in over 200 years. Regardless of it just being "a game", they really ignored the facts and made science-fiction. I doubt I'll finish the singleplayer and in general I've lost a lot of respect for the idiots at DICE.
-
You can adjust mouse sensitivity...
Are you referring to something else?
As for the single player storyline, it seems that most FPS's these days are video game adaptations of Team America: World Police more than anything else. -
Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
That is rediculous. -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
science fiction deals more with imagined scientific and technological innovation. this would be "military fiction" or just "fiction". -
Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
Has anyone else not gotten the Physical Warfare Pack? Mine is not showing up in game.
Also, I can't wait till some drivers come out I am getting great frames just choppy. -
Me neither; I asked on the forums and another member said that codes were supposed to be emailed out at some point (he thought), but I have not received a code yet.
-
The Iranians in the game are portrayed to own a couple of advance nukes by 2014. At the moment they don't even have the capability to produce a single nuke while we are lead to imagine them developing a couple of nukes so advanced and small they can be concealed and moved across the world. Now that to me is science fiction...
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
Well, it's still not. Again, science fiction *focuses* and *explores* scientific innovation. Just because something exists in a story that does not exist in real life does not make it science fiction. That makes it fiction.
If you don't own a car, and I write a story where you have a car, that's not science fiction just because a car is technological.
That said, you aren't alone about disappointment with the single player. A lot of reviews and blogs and such are complaining about the single player - specifically it's story and the abuse of quicktime events. -
I asked this question last night in battlelog, it seems that EA will soon contact us about it.
Well I for one am enjoying it.
-
I still don't get if there are any performance boost compared to the beta and if it is due the driver update or the game itself. Has anyone tried Mètro map online to check the differences? What about a DX10 option? I will be able to play the game (probably) this evening :O
-
after the choppy beta with lag and freezes i can report that even with my spec which is 3 years out of date im getting good gameplay in both single and multi but ive only had a chance for about 15 minutes in each so things could change when the battle really begins. crunch time will be tonight.
-
I'm getting this error on battle log, "your account is not allowed to log in" is any one having this issue?? that's one of the reason i hate this battlelog thing *RAGE*
-
did you buy from origin?
if so when you opened origin and clicked on game and it done the area code verification did it ask you to download a new plugin. if it didnt check your download folder as mine was saved in there. once you load that and restart origin battlelog worked for me. -
yes it was purchased from origin, and no i never got a verification plug in installer. which download folder?
-
blaster, are you EU? I know that NA accounts are able to get into battlelog and many of us are even able to play, but there do seem to be a few NA people having problems too.
My first impressions with multi were great. My G73 running 11.5 drivers (it bugs me every time I launch the game to update to 11.6, booo) took it on high settings like a champ, smooth 40ish fps (somehow fared better than BC2), had no trouble playing on 64p conquest servers. Got up to rank 4 in about 2 hours? The helis feel terrible at first compared to BC2, but it doesn't take long to get used to it... I do have a gripe that if you lean too far to one side it seems impossible to recover/pull yourself out of the spin, BUT they are much easier to land now. I'm used to having to feather an apache down in BC2, all the helis I piloted so far can actually take a pretty good beating, I put one down hard on a cap, and it only lost 9% health.
I did notice rubberbanding on certain servers, and only on certain maps. I also noticed an issue with invisible objects or walls or something on Caspian, specifically in the field out of the spawn leading up to the cap zones. The sound is way different from BC2, much more realistic, it always seems noisy to me. I also find it much harder to spot people if they don't shoot, also more realistic. Looks like my schedule is full of BF3 tomorrow...
Once you get into battlelog find our platoon or click the link in my sig! -
I'm form USA, Central time. I just accepted the release date check. But, when i click on battlefield 3, the browser opens with battle log, only to tell me that my account is not allowed to log in. Its 3am here in texas.
-
its in your normal download folder. start > your account > download folder
other way to check is in battlelog on bottom left of screen check in the popup box if everything is upto date.
there was a cheat to overide the area verification but that didnt work for me except letting me into battlelog. then i tried my normal login and it loaded the game straight away. im in the uk but as far as i can tell its been early released for everyone.
im at work now so cant check anything until i get home. -
That doesn't seem to be the problem since i already accepted time verification application. But it still does not let me log in. This is ridiculous. People who ILLEGALLY downloaded the game are playing as of right now with the crack, and we who preordered the game on origin cant get to play on the "scheduled" release date. Shame on Dice. This was the reason i despised the battle log crap. Overloaded servers=no single player either. What a fiasco. -
I took tomorrow off of work just for Bf3. My wife thinks I am lame
-
didnt know there was a crack out but have to agree it is very annoying when like yourself you purchased ages ago and you see others playing who are using an ilegal copy or crack.
most prob wont help but try loading in ofline mode.
also can you tell me if there is any numbers in this box... control panel>internet connections>connections>lan settings (its the boxes at the bottom). at work so this is only from memory. first box should be empty. -
Ok I finally received my email containing the code for Physical Warfare Pack. All you have to do once you get the code is put it on "Redeem Code" on the origin application, and then restart origin, Good to go!
-
I have to wait till the 28th to play T_T
Dear Customer,
We recently sent you an email with details containing pre-load instructions for Battlefield 3. The game release date in those instructions refers to US Central Daylight Time.
For clarification, your local live date to begin playing the game is: October 28th, 2011.
Sincerely,
The Origin Team

anyone get the pre-order bonus SPECACT kit skins?
-
I got that same email but the game went live for me in the uk last night.
It sounds like they knew thousands of users tried the changing of the region code so they released it earlier than normal
