Hey,

I'm just starting the single player campaign, and I'm getting alot of stuttering even though the framerate is fine.

Anyone else with a dx10 card experience this?

Tips?

 

How does it working for u guys with 560m card? thinking of getting new laptop with 570m card but don't know if its worth it. I would be pleased with medium on good fps

 

ok, i was able to play it single player because the battle log crap wasn't working. But on the single player im getting tons of stuttering that makes it completelly unplayable even thought the framerate is over 60fps. i have crossfire on and have the 11.10 rev 3 drivers.

 

Strange. You have a dx11 card though. Your problem is probably caused by the crossfire setup. Try disabling one card and see if the problem goes away. I would think that this will be fix shortly though.

I'm more concerned for us dx10 card users as I saw in a benchmark/review that this was a problem for dx10 cards. I will reintall the latest drivers with driver sweeper and have another go

 

about the single player - meh. I know many have posted this before but i was expecting a epic SP campaign kinda like MoH. While it wasnt without its problems the MoH campaign had an awesome story and was memorable. BF3 SP is bad and i see no reason why they decided to include the campaign, could have released the game with a SP like BF2 and the game would be much better. I mean look at UT3 and CS, they have similar SP and people still enjoy them

 

I don't have the stuttering that you're saying, maybe you need the latest CAPs?

 

does some one get the message on battlelog.com "your account is not allowed to log in" ?????

 

I know you guys are probably playing, but I was wondering if the actual game runs at a higher FPS than the beta did? I was assuming that it did but I wasn't positive. If so, how much higher fps does it run for you?

 

I wanted to stay up until midnight last night, but I got sleepy. Can't wait to get home today!

 

Anyone else having problems with it not recognizing all the buttons on the Logitech G700 wireless mouse? Especially the side G4 and G5 buttons?

 

Yup same as me. Think you have to set them up or assign a shortcut in the included software that came with the G700

 

So I guess I'll be waiting for MW3 since the FPS MP bore me so much. I only play these for SP.

 

I don't have any reason to suspect MW3 will have better single player. Both are easy to pass on imo, but if you enjoyed previous recent CoD single player games, you'll probably enjoy BF3.

 

Just played the first quick game online... good stuff! Looking forward to getting to know this a little better!

Ran just fine on G73 in sig, auto high settings at 1600x900, 35-45 fps

Absolutely love the sounds! Crank up my G35's, feel like I'm right there in the fight ha....

 

I preordered limited edition BF3 from Best Buy, I just picked it up but it does not say limited edition on the box. However, I was emailed an access code from Best Buy today for extra content, is that the LE content?

Is this the case for all BF3 PC boxes?

 

I didn't fix it, but I didn't need to. It just started working. So no problems running one monitor playing the game and another for the desktop. I'll admit, I didn't enjoy the game during beta. This release is much better and loads of fun. I'm getting anywhere from 40-60 frames on ultra with my 6950, without oc. Fun stuff.

 

Played last night till 3AM it was sweet Try TDM 64 players it's just epic non stop action

 

I cannot wait to get home! I downloaded it last night but fell asleep 30 minutes before midnight

I have an i5 2500k and nVidia 560 Ti ready to take it on!

 

WHY!

Best Buy DID NOT give me the Limited Edition version I specifically pre-ordered and I have already opened and begun installing the game. Now I'll have to go back and fight with them to give me a LE copy.

 

I'm sure they will fix it if they made a mistake. Take care of it, but it won't change anything for today, so it's urgent but not extremely urgent. Karkland isn't coming out for a while.

 

Man this game has as many issues as the beta did. It's a bit more refined but still lots of work to be done. Hit detection is still off, sometimes good, sometimes bad, but when someone is standing with their back to you 100 ft away, you line up your sights and unload your whole mag in short bursts and they turn around and come at you, it's not right.

I also had an RPG go straight through a chopper. It was one of those small choppers that came down right in front of me, I was like and already had my RPG loaded so took aim and he turned sideways and it went right through the chopper, like not through an empty spot but warped through it or something I dunno.

And there's no easy way to practice in the choppers or jets is there? How stupid. You have to hope you get in a jet or chopper and then crash a few times until you get your joystick set up the way you want it. Dumb.

Also PLEASE have a way to turn joystick support ON or OFF completely for each vehicle type. I hopped in a vehicle and couldn't drive because it automatically assumed I wanted to use my joystick. So I had to manually clear ALL the joystick inputs for vehicles.

 

My loading times are really, really bad. By the time I get to deploy my team is already capping the points furthest away from our deployment..

 

I did notice having to knife someone twice before they died, didn't think it was odd at the time, but looking back it was probably hit detection weirdness.

I agree that ignoring requests to add a 'practice mode' hurts the community, especially with 64p maps now. Brought back some memories of bf2 when last night I and the rest of my team watched a guy hop in a heli on the initial game starting spawn, only to have him barely get 20m off the ground and crash horribly into another heli It wasn't griefing either, the guy was just genuinely bad at flying and had bad luck. And with the controls and feel of the helis being completely different from BC2, if it took you a while to learn BC2 flying I feel like ti would take you a long time to get used to BF3 flying. I haven't even had a chance to fly a jet sadly, just like bf2 they are they first thing everyone rushes for, though thankfully they have been decently piloted by people on my teams... maybe they are a bit easier to fly than helis?

 

Jets are a bit easier to fly, but still need to give people a practice field. Empty servers you can't do it because they require a minimum number of people, I tried.

Just make a map with a couple of every vehicle on it and hosted only on your local PC and let users have at it. Since there's no editor there's no way for anyone to make one either.

It literally would not take that much time for them to do. I know they have a lot on their plate, but this would help everyone a lot I think.

My OC'd gpu hit an all time high while playing. 95c temp. Looks like I'm gonna have to tone down some settings.

 

WoW ! the graphics are just beautiful in this game, set graphcis on Auto and it set the texture to ultra and the rest to medium. Couldn't really do much, i was too busy looking at the landscape the trees and just the texture of the game overall, the jets fly alot better and look way better than the beta. Sh!t im suprized i came in to work today, played till 3 in the morning...

 

as far as the controls, you can set up controls for joystick + mouse/kb. you should be able to use both if they are set up.

 

Ouch. Until they fix that, I''m just going to stay out of the helos and jets.

it isn't, is barely playable on a gt540m @720p that has about 3x the power of a 8600m gt

 

8xxx series cards are the minimum spec but i think yours could strugle.

 

At what settings are you playing?

 

So basically, Best Buy gave me a regular copy of BF3, not a Limited Edition like I preordered. So I took the game back after I had opened and installed it once I realized their mistake. They exchanged it no problem BUT the regular edition key is now tied to my account and when I try to install the limited edition key it just starts installing to the regular edition version.

So basically, I need to get EA support to get the regular edition off my account so I can install the limited edition with its new key.

What a doozie.

 

Patriot. Just sell your Un-used LE. Then buy Kirkland when it comes out. I am sure you will make money on such a deal. I am sure someone here would give you $40 for the key. Buy Kirkland for $15, and make $25. As long as EA doesn't cancel your original key you are golden, and they have no reason to so why worry.

 

I've thought of that. I know I don't want to do it. I've already returned the other copy and I'd be screwed if they invalidate that key while doing what you just suggested.

I just want to play my copy of BF on my Origin account.

 

Having an interesting issue, I'll be playing happily at fullscreen, then Windows pops in saying my computers performance is slow and to close programs to free up memory... what's weird is I've never gotten this message in a game before... and then as soon as I click cancel on the message, it crashes BF3 and gives me a DirectX error... and bam, all points that round are gone! Has happened three times now in a row. Any one else having this problem? All other games play fine. Really enjoying BF3 but this is going to get old in a hurry.

Playing on my Asus G73 listed in signature, all other games and everything up to this point has worked great. Thanks for any ideas.

They need to make a jet only dogfight map. Everyone spawns in a jet, and add a few objectives.

 

Last night I retired my 7805 Gateway as my primary gaming machine and built a brand new desktop. It's been a long time that I have only gamed on Laptops. I'm debating if I should sell the Gateway or not. Still have my Alienware M11X R1 which worked perfectly for swtor.

I can report that this morning I had one of the most intense gaming experiences in an FPS that I have ever had. It was amazing. Looks better than the commercials.

Nvidia Surround is likely the next step.

 

I may be wrong, but that sounds like a Memory/RAM issue. Win 7 writes extra data to te page file (which is basically virtual RAM). Did you disable page file? If so that would be an easy fix (I don't see an SSD on your signature so there is no reason you should have disabled the page file). If not, check your RAM usage during the game. If it is filling up, enlarge your page file, or get more RAM.

If it isn't a Memory issue, then ignore everything I said.

 

BC2 used to do this all the time. It isn't really your system lacking memory, it's the game being stupid. About the only thing you can do is set bf3 to turn off aero when it launches, but it still might pop up.

 

i have just a lot of shuttering. my gpu is about 80% and my cpu is 100% like 95% of the time while im running the game.

i don't know if something wrong. also i just read

so im expecting in a few weeks the game to receive a patch and some new drivers.

i have this issue also with witcher 2 and i can hardly play it even at very low, also the rred faction armageddon at dx10 it had the same issue and at dx 9 it was just fine. gpu was scaling very good while the cpu was at 80% not the opposite.

the same is for bf3 i get the same fps even at low and at medium high.

I want to buy BF3 with the Karkland map pack and the physical warfare pack and I was wondering if I get the digital edition (I think only the digital come with the physical warfare pack) will I be able to get the karkland map pack as well? Does anyone know, since you can't pre-order digitally. I want to buy BF3 with everything that should come with it. If not I can head to my local best buy to buy the retail edition but I much prefer not needing a disc.

Also unless the disc can be register to EA origin and I can play the games without the disc would be great. I read somewhere that you can add code for all your old EA titles.

Huh? You can pre-order digital editions, in fact most of us did just that... but it's a little late now, you can't really "pre-order" now. What you can do now is look for BF3 limited edition, that includes karkand with it. The standard edition (which wasn't sold during pre-order time, it only started selling after the 24th) doesn't include any bonuses. It doesn't matter if you buy retail/disc or not, because the game itself uses origin, any discs are useless beyond the initial install.

 

Completed singleplayer without any issues with the Catalyst 11.9 WHQL drivers.
Im gonna test out the MP part tomorrow. :3

I just install the game, but when I try to go into a server it just load another web browser. Same thing for campaign, when I click on it the game seem like it loading but all it does is load another web browser. Any help be greatly appreciate.
