Anybody have an experience on a 6750m or comparable card?

Thats its server browser/game interface. Just choose campaign from the web interface (after installing the plugin it needs) and it will launch.
-
Why can't I check the boxes next to the options to filter the server list?
Now I can't un-check them and get 500 internal server error when I try to refresh the list. This is worse than the beta.
Also, IE forces me to hit "display unsecure content" every time I view or refresh a Battlelog page. Any way to add a permanent exception?
I rate EA 0/10 so far for execution. The beta was better, did not have any security warnings or server errors, and actually let me JOIN A GAME. -
At the bottom left where it said game manager it keep saiding joining server. Then another web browser open and nothing happen.
-
Alright I seem to fix my issues. Had to add battlefield3.com as a "trusted site" in IE and update the Battlelog plugin. For the love of god give me a f-ing server browser in-game. This should be a BASIC FEATURE, EA/DICE. It didn't bother me too much during the beta but now that I'm having to jump through hoops to even get into a game, it is not fun.
-
just finished the single player campaign...the game was too short.5-6 hours in normal difficulty and the story was not good........
-
Also, I still can't figure out how to un-bind keys. Does anyone know?
...and I can't run FRAPS to check performance because the game doesn't load if I do. RadeonPro's FPS monitor function just doesn't do anything in BF3 either. Is there some sort of internal command to check FPS?
This is very annoying, I have to launch the game, alt-tab out, and then run FRAPS in order to view my FPS.
Anyone else keep getting "disconnected from login server" errors? -
hold down ESC key to unbind.
-
Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
the game has it's own built in FPS counter
hit the ~ key then type render.drawfps true -
Finally got it running, next step is to quit dying
Here's what I'm playing at on my desktop, getting between 45-50 FPS. I can run on all ultra with HBAO enabled but I get closer to 30-35, which is not smooth for aiming with the sniper rifle. This might be an excuse to get a second 6950 and xfire it (board will take up to 3) but I don't think the wife will go for that.
-
The beta ran quite smooth with my asymmetrical CrossfireX. But now it's stuttering and jerky even though fps is > 35fps. Have to drop down to 720p just to make it playable and revert only to my dedicated card.
Wonder when AMD will release official 11.10 drivers? Now would be a good time!
-
OUCH! Campaign was a major component I was looking forward to.
-
My first BF3 kill, I feel special
After this round I'll update from 11.8 (getting weird screen flashing while looking down scope) to whatever's out now.
EDIT: Updated to 11.9 and turned off MSAA and it made a world of difference. I get a solid 50-60 FPS at the following settings:
...I really don't like the way Frostbite 2 renders trees, though. I think they looked much better in BC2.
Once I have all my control bindings set, is there any type of config file I can copy from my desktop to my latptop so I won't have to set them all again?
EDIT: Post-processing AA looks ugly and MSAA kills performance. Strangely I think I'll play this without AA as it actually looks better. -
Turn off ambient occlusion too. There's no benefit to having it and performance will go up a bit more even. I turn AA off completely, no reason for it at native resolution. Wish there was a way to turn off bloom too. You could do that in a cfg file in BFBC2, but no such luck here.
-
Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
I miss my settings.CFG file!
-
Thats what he said, so probably a new CAP will be released for BF3
-
any more confirms for nvidia card having the stuttering issue with the 285.62 drivers? im thinking when i get my comp i should just stick with the 285.38 beta drivers instead...
-
When in game, I press esc to pull up the menu but I can't control it with my mouse, only the keyboard. Anyone have a solution to this? Another example is when I die, I can't choose another class with the mouse. The mouse moves around and shows the cursor but it will not select anything. Any help is appreciated.
-
Sometimes happens to me too. I think that's a glitch.
-
Anyone playing on a mid end card like mine at 1080p want to comment? Hows performance vs the beta.
God i wish there was a demo out so i could try it.. -

that's not entirely fair... HBAO does provide some visual quality improvement, but it's probably not worth the performance penalty. AA is useful at native resolution. Edge artifacts don't go away just because you are at native resolution. In fact, they are specifically there at native resolution. If your native res is extremely high, like 1080p, it might not bother you too much. -
The moment I zoom in with the sniper scope, FPS dips to 30 or lower no matter what settings I use, even if I lower everything to medium (which I should not have to do on an unlocked 6950). It this a glitch, drivers, or wrong settings?
-
i only play conquest and the maps (besides caspian border) are all pretty much horrible. i will be waiting for karkand map to save the game.
-
Anyone else getting "kicked by admin" from the server?
-
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
I thought several of the maps so far were really good.
-
HBAO in BFBC2 did nothing more than add extra glare that did nothing more than annoy you. AA does not add a whole lot at native resolution to make up for the performance hit.. actually I am impressed with how it looks at all low at native resolution, in my case 1080p
-
Here's some comparisons:
HBAO:
SSAO:
No AO:
Its for you to decide
HBAO takes a lot of FPS, while SSAO doesn't give much performance hit.
-
Mechanized Menace Lost in the MYST
I see no difference?
AA would be good I see lots of jaggies. -
Open the images in new tabs and switch between them to see the difference

I think it's more obvious in other scenes. This one has mostly flat surfaces. Check out the trashcan where it meets the floor. It's casting a shadow onto itself. It gives you a better sense of the trashcan's volume, depth, 3d-ness. Compared to the one of the bottom. If you look straight at it, you can almost imagine it as a 2D cutout pasted onto the scene.
Now, this requires a pretty thorough examination. Even though I think this particular scene has a relatively small amount of 3D objects that aren't totally flat, and other scenes have more distinction, I still wouldn't say it's worth the performance hit. -
I am having problems installing, i got the disk version from gamestop and when the downloading(from the disk i assume) reaches 100% it gets stuck there, i mean it was literally running for 8hrs like that and nothing happened, i paused and continued it and it started again from 0%. Any ideas??
-
MagusDraco Biiiiiiirrrrdmaaaaaaan
hmmm...lucky to get 30 fps. Oh well. it hovers around 27 or 28 so it should be okay. Kinda wish it was higher than that at 1280x720.
-
Finished co-op normal mode with shobster and it's pretty fun but there are annoying parts... the heli one was so easy if you have any experience flying a chopper in multi. There were a couple points on 2 or 3 levels when it seemed like enemies were endlessly spawning, we both kept dying and you need to start the whole level over. Oh and watch out for the quicktime events on the final level... I set off a bomb by accident and shob let a guy shoot me at the very end
I had a VERY annoying issue in co-op, where I couldn't do anything. The game would load up, and the best way I can describe it is that, the game just didn't want to recognize my keyboard anymore. Origin overlay didn't work, couldn't move or shoot, oddly enough alt+tab worked fine. I still don't know how I "fixed" it because it seemed to happen every time we started up after taking a break, and then poor shob would wait patiently while I mashed my keyboard and cussed at the screen... it's odd because it only happens in co-op. Multi and SP are just fine. -
finished the campaig, utterly terrible, especially in the story segment. I mean it is clear they tried to copy the whole Call of Duty Cinematic feel in the campaign but they failed miserable. DICE could take a few lessons about the single player storytelling from Danger Close(developers of Medal of Honour) cause they knew exactly how to copy the CoD cinematic feel. Anyway i should quit whining as SP was not the reason i bought the game.
-
yes i have a lot and my gpu does not scale good in a lot of games. something is wrong with drivers and nvidia
also weird shadows and sometimes texture issues. even at low or high i get the same fps. the same story as witcher 2. -
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
im not getting stuttering at all, never experienced it.
the game is smooth on my desktop with a gtx570 and on my gtx460m laptop in sig. Both 285.62 WHQL installed. -
Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
So far seems a driver related issue.
AMD community over guru3d is going nuts, some users are reverting to 8.90 drivers, they seems to make a difference in BF3.
Its the same story all over with AMD and drivers, and im not talking as a green team fanboy.
Theres pretty of rage going on atm, i hope amd fixes the issues soon.
Most of these problems made me switch to green team again from my crossfire HD5850 (which was a vapor-x setup, oced, 2gb gddr5 version) to a single GTX570.
Nvidia had its flaws with some precedent drivers, but i always feel that the drivers communicate "better" and "smooth" compared to amds.
Anyway as i side note, im getting 55-84 (being the highest) on my desktop at ultra/1080p without AA. Mostly 60-64 fps all the time.
On my laptop at 900p with same settings im doing 40-45 in MP, 35-45 in SP, being 42 the average. Pretty happy right now of the performance, but 1080p is out of question unless i lower the details alot.
At High settings i can get an average of 60fps using PostAA high and 2xMsaa as well on my desktop, but i dont need AA for now, so ultra is ok thought.
My gtx570 is running at 850/1700/2100 @ 1.025v, while laptop runs at 840/1680/1600 @ 1.0v.
Maybe my experience and settings with the game can help out some users and shred some light on how it should perform. -
I can't get crossfire to work to save my life. One 4870m is just enough to run this game on low settings.
-
This is so disappointing, cant join any damn match!!! They need to get rid of this battlelog crap
-
How would my system fare against this beast of a game? Would I get acceptable frame rates on low?
Athlon x2 250
9800gt -
maybe you need to forward the game ports that EA specified, maybe your routers blocking em.
-
Just orderd a msi gt780r with the 560m card. The price dif in sweden was too big for me
Will I be able to play bf3 on mid? -
well i can barely get into servers, but its a pain in the to get into a game, also it takes forever to join a server.
-
Thought I'd post some performance info for people who may have a similar specced system to me:
using an i7 2820QM, GT555M (with 3gb ram... overclocked, 3dmark06 score of around 14k which I guess would be similar to a standard 460M) and 8gb 1333 ram.
the game performs admirably on 1080p at "auto" settings which is basically everything on medium with ultra textures. It's playable (and by playable I mean 30fps+)
however I've found that using all settings on "high" (but dropping mesh and terrain detail to medium) with no FSAA, low post-process AA, no motion blur, 8xAF, VSYNC on and SSAO and playing at 1600*900 gives awesomely smooth and detailed performance at around the 45+fps mark
if you don't mind dropping to 768p then the game's actually playable on "ultra" settings at 30fps+ providing FSAA is off
it's MUCH improved from the beta for me, frame rate has doubled in some places (in the beta I was playing at 720p with similar settings and less FPS) I've been told the bugs in the latest NVIDIA drivers (shadow/stuttering issues) are mainly to do with the older, non DX11 cards.
For me at least it's been a bit of an eye opener... the game looks and performs better than BF:BC2 which is an amazing achievement imo and also means I won't be getting a new desktop just yet ;-) -
Real happy with the game so far. I love the canal and kharg island map, classic battlefield, especially canal.
Performance is pretty damn good. NP8130 w/560m. Can play on high/ultra without AA/Ambient Occlusion at very playable rates. Can turn on AA and still be playable, HBAO playable.
Game looks great either way, runs great, plays great. Love it. -
I still haven't gotten to play. Went to bed before my game was finished preloading Monday night, figured I could download the last couple of GBs last night, wasn't expecting the download speed to be around 50 kb/s. Maybe I'll get to play this weekend if I'm lucky.

Hey guys,
first of all: Wow, what a great game! Played 6h yesterday till lvl 8 and I just love the game. The beta was great, but this? Awesome!
Anyway, a pal has problems logging into battlelog and therefore cant play the game. He bought the digital one from EA origin store, DL'ed the game, installed sucessfully and activated it w/o problems. But when he tries to log into battlelog it says "your account is not allowed to log in" - and thats it.
There are a couple of users out there with the same problem, but it seems that nobody knows how to solve it :/
Maybe somebody here has an idea...
(btw, when he logs into ea/origin website, he sees BF3 connected to his account...) -
Hmmm, interesting. It's horrible for me with my laptop Radeon card. Bad Company 2 I could play 1080p with combination of med/low at 50-70FPS. With this 1080p it's 25-35fps all at low. I also have Crossfire with my IGP which was smooth in the beta and allowed 35-40fps average at 1080p even with some med/high settings. Now the Crossfire is similar fps, but stuttering like heck and have same drivers and everything I did in the beta. This could partially be the AMD drivers, but DICE changed something because if it worked great in the beta, why not in retail?
I wish there was a way to force DirectX 10 though. I'm sure that would improve FPS another 10-15% -
masterchef341 The guy from The Notebook
there is a console in game with a ton of graphics options... may want to do some research
-
Was there any update to the game since the pre-load ?
Mine says up to date, but just checking.
Cannot play at all, once MP loads and it goes to game, it minimizes the game ans system hangs, I have to start Task manager to exit game.
Campaign is same, I can get to game, go to options and settings, but once I click start campaign and it loads the map, it minimizes game and system hangs.
Played fine in beta, and haven't changed a thing since
