Stuttering is usually an issue with SLI or Crossfire, but you have neither. Plus with my AMD A8 / 6650m I can get 40-60fps at 1280x720 med/low settings and 2xAA.

The Q9200 is probably at least as powerful as my AMD A8 and 260m about same as my 6650m, except 260m is DX9/10 no DX11. Not sure if that matters.

I guess this is what happens when you go a whole round pwning people with the SKS (P-KAS Holo + Foregrip + Laser) and then shoot the pilot out of their Little Bird, steal it and use it to beat the crap outta their own team. :D

    And 0 deaths. PROOF.

Why is it showing you on the bottom of the score list when it was highest for your team for the round? But 24-0 is definitely manageable. I wouldn't say a regular basis, but on occasion. I've had some no death runs a few times. Probably not 24 kills but 12-15 I believe.

I'm at the bottom cause I got kicked/banned before the round ended, I thought that was weird too. In all honesty, the other team just wasn't too competent. I wasn't even sniping or using the MAV.I was just running around with the SKS until I managed to shoot their Little Bird pilot and use their chopper against them. Lol. Sucks but whatever.

Playing with the mk3a1 ... Found out you can equip suppressor on it.

It seems to work since I managed to reload a couple of times in front of a group.

I just seem to be doing so much worse with the B2K maps. I thought I would do much better because I'm familiar with them, but not the case. I frequently go 1:2 k/d now. I know k/d isn't everything, but it's a good measure of consistency comparative to prior gameplay.

I wanna do some VOIP play but thanks DICE for not including in-game VOIP. Also, the more I use the SKS the more beast it is. It absolutely decimates.

My problem is that I like to try new guns all the time and that screws me up. I like the QBB-95. It has single shot, burst, or full auto and can equip it with a 12x scope if needed for sniping or my favorite holo scope for close to mid range combat. Although I tend to get nailed with the FAMAS quite a bit so might play with that, although I think it's only for assault class.

Edit: Just played another round. Four Javelin's at a tank and it still wasn't dead. No engineer, because it was moving back and forth at a good rate of speed. Just smoked, never blew up. RPG on a jet (F35 hovering), it just "disabled" and flew off like nothing hit it. So frustrating. I'm realizing unless there's lots of known SOFLAM or other laser designators out there, Javelin is useless. RPG is better because they don't get a signal something is tracked on them. You can usually get two solid hits before they figure out where you're at. First one usually isn't seen. Second one they are looking for it, and if you're lucky third in the rear takes care of em.

New comer to this thread, so if its already been discussed I apologize, but I was curious if its just me that dislikes the Karkand maps? BF2 nostalgia aside they feel way too twitchy for me. I also never seem to manage to get a decent team on these maps, but do fairly well on the original maps...

    Maybe I am just crazy.

The maps are still too damn small. Wake Island is too small especially. The airfield is right next to the cap point. It used to be a good distance away. Arty Island and the airfield beach (not beach cap point) has no significance at all, where there used to be artillery. They should put a destructible AA emplacement there along with a UAV station that anyone can use like in BFBC2, and the UAV can fire guns and call in a guided missile (like in BFBC2 as well). Arty Island for US use only, airfield beach for Russian use only.

Anyone got any tips/tricks on shooting down helis and jets with Stinger missiles? I'd say about 2/10 rockets I fire actually connect, the rest are either dodged or thrown off by flares. Should I wait a few seconds after I get the "confirmed" lock beep so the jet/heli shoots his flares prematurely?

With a decent pilot it will be hard any way unless you have two engineers targeting. Even then he can run and evade, but in many cases that's just as effective to get him out of your hair. Otherwise, I usually just tag him and leave it there and hope he drops flares. As soon as he does I reacquire lock and shoot. Usually the relock and fire and time for it to get to them is shorter than the time it takes for flares to reload.

It sure feels that way even though I think they are exactly the same size as their BF2 counterparts. It's the fact that movement in BF3 is just generally so much faster than in BF2. For instance, you can sprint indefinitely quite fast and the tanks and LAV's move a lot quicker than in BF2. Otherwise, I think maps are the same size yet they feel smaller (in some cases) because of increased movement speed as opposed to BF2. I think this is also a problem for jets which seemingly move a lot faster than in BF2, which is kinda annoying and why I believe DICE should implement clouds/reduced visibility on some maps to give the illusion of greater distance. Or slow down jets.

Wake Island definitely feels smaller. The carrier is much closer to the land, Arty Island is closer to the main island. The air strip is basically right next to the cap flag when it was much further away. They got rid of a lot of buildings too at many cap points. I think they did a great job with Karkand, Oman, and Sharqi though as far as similarity. Wake Island I don't care for much at all to be honest, and it used to be my favorite BF2 map.

I like the fact that you can sprint, which I liken to a jog, indefinitely. It was a pita to only be able to jog for five seconds then rest for five. An all out sprint I could understand need for recovery, but any military person should be able to jog for a while wearing military gear.

I have given up on jets. I cannot get a single kill in one; all I have is a forward-facing machine gun, while I keep getting taken out seconds after takeoff by freaking attack choppers with guided air-to-air missiles that I can't do anything about.

Yeah, problem is its hard to find a map that doesn't have some seasoned pilots on it. I'm ok with the chopper, but jets I still struggle. I have gotten a few kills, but it's not easy. As much time as I've put in jets I should have a lot more kills.

I have 2.5 hours in jets and 12 kills vs 10 hours in chopper and 85 kills. Still not great but twice as good!

At least with a chopper, you can still get points and level up and unlock stuff by manning the gunner seat and relying on an experienced pilot for flares and stuff until you unlock them. With the jet, you're entirely alone and you can't unlock anything because you can't kill anything.

Not sure how it is on PC version but I really dislike Conquest on the maps that require vehicles to traverse, such as Caspian and Operation Firestorm (I dont mean Grand Baazar or those small maps with 1-2 vehicles)

I mean coming from BC2 as my first Battlefield game the Conquest in that game was really fun! I mean it was the perfect proportion of "land-space" and vehicles. It wasnt as intimate as Rush but it wasnt as far away as it is in BF3.

Not sure if I'm explaining myself correctly but on the console version it just feels like each checkpoint is way to far away from each other that you need a vehicle and most of the times I played (not generalizing for the rest, maybe its just my experiences) I couldnt find a vehicle and ended up running to it only to realize that either halfway through a sniper puts one through my head or the other checkpoint is getting taken over so running back.

(I own it for ps3; I got brothers who like to play and a nice plasma to play it on so it was better to get it for console)

    /ends rant

Yeah, I actually struggled on the jet portion.
Took me 40 deaths in a row in order to finally unlock the flares.

But luckily for you, they made it much easier to cheat with the F35.
Just hover and cap a flag.

However, it much harder nowadays due to people fully unlocking their helo and jets already.

What drive me insane about the jets and the helo is the crosshair location always different every round. You cannot simply eyeball center it.

Well that was annoying...apparently if you get revived in the same instant that you respawn, you'll get stuck alive but still in the deploy menu, with mouse control in the menu itself. You'll be unable to move or do anything from the menu, and you cannot suicide. And you'll get kicked for being idle, even if you're actively typing in chat and clicking around the menus.

I'm missing the F18 from the vanilla maps. I just can't get a hang of the F35 for dog fighting. I wasn't good on jets to begin with, but man is it hard. Maybe I'm overlooking something but slowing down a bit to make sharp turns is quite the struggle without losing too much speed. On the other hand, it has made it a little easier to to kill choppers with its ability to slow down real quickly. Other than that still enjoying the Karkand maps more.

Assuming both pilots know what they're doing, Flanker will win vs F35 99 out of 100 times. It's just like in BF2, I see american pilots camp the RU airfield to get the more superior flanker (J10 in bf2).

If you manage to kill a flanker pilot while in the F35, it only shows how poor of a pilot the other guy is.

They pop up once in a while, especially if some hot new cheat has been made public to the n00bs.

I've read somewhere where people "decoded" the game files and concluded that the best guns for assault to use are the M16A3 or M416. They have the least amount of "spread" so you'll be very accurate with those guns. Personally I like the L85A1 a lot but it's worthless in Short - Short-Medium ranges because of its low fire rate.

Engineer guns were pretty much all the same, the "best" guns would be M4A1, A-91 and AK74u.

It's been a while since I've had a cheater in the same server. Think I've played against an aim botter once.

Cheaters have ESP hacks and aim bots and unless they want to stick out you would never notice them. Google bf3 fpscheats videos, they're very prevalent and pb isn't catching them.

Yesterday I got killed by a USAS12 in Metro and the kill cam showed the player on the other side of the map. I don't know if its a glitch or some kind of a hack. Also, how is it possible that some player already die while the game is still on countdown to start? Some strange stuff..

I don't understand why DICE is confusing personal preferences with problems? If some people fails at CQB, then they start blaming at guns. They got other problems to worry about than the guns.

I am not a great player by any means, but I'm not that bad. Bullets at someone two feet in front of me don't even register. Nothing. Half a magazine at least. Or the opposite, I get multiple X's direct hits to the head, and they have > 50% health and still kill me. I even shot someone coming at me and they were able to knife me and walk away with 70% health. This game gets so frustrating because of crap like this.

edit: OMG. Check out this dude's gaming box, lol.

happens to me all the time, multiple registered X's on my side, and then i die! i always blamed myself and the fact that i'm not a great player (even though i was really good on BF:BC2). now i try to connect to servers with very low ping (as seen in Battlelog) and i tend to do a bit better.

that is totally a gaming BOX :D i wonder how hot it becomes after playing an hour of BF3.

Im guessing they will nerf the G3A3 (Again?) and G53 too since i get kills with them, so surely they must be too OP for the game. :3
