Absolutely! I'm just going to wait for 3-4 months and for the price to drop like a rock and then get it just like I did with BF4.. Not in a rush to get it since I've got plenty of humble bundle games to play now..

Wow, $60? It's fun, but seems more like the level of a free to play game. So far I enjoyed Team Fortress 2 and Tactical Intervention a lot more than Battlefield Hardline and didn't spend a dime on either of those.

Enjoying Hotwire, definitely my favorite mode. Nowhere near worth $60 just for that though. Wish they set it up as DLC.

I think we will quickly see it drop down to $30 within a month. I just can't see too many users spending that kind of coin on it.

I have probably over 2000 hours in the entire Battlefield saga since 1942 (the year I graduated high school), and have played quite a bit of BF Cops n Rubbers and it is not dope.

Battlefield 1942 and 2 were the best. I would say bf1942 was probably my favorite overall. The technology and graphics at the time were unreal. The intro music and game soundtrack were great. I don't get why they don't make good game music like that now. 1942 and Medal of Honor Allied Assault had great musical scores.

Now 1942 theme song was "dope"... :p I use that as my ring tone, except I sometimes let it ring too long. :)

Start at 2:30 or so... intro is dumb

I've probably got about 750-1000 hours in the BF saga.. I started at BF1942, played 50 hours of BF2 and about 500+ hours of BF4... Really do miss BF1942.. Hopefully someone will make an awesome WW2 game like it in the future...

So you skipped BF3, is it not very good?

I think I got BF3 free from Origin store - have to try downloading this one, I assume it runs on weaker laptop than BF4, but maybe nobody is on the servers?

simple question, will this be worth getting?
enjoyed B2 & B3 but B4 was pants and full of bugs
tried the beta for Hardline for about 10 minutes and then deleted it so if i get this it will be for the campaign only.

Not worth $60, maybe $20. BF4 has improved a lot, but it's biggest Achilles' Heel is the hit detection. Still awful today. Direct hits on an infantry from a tank shell frequently does zero to very light damage (< 20%). Anti-personnel shots also frequently do nothing. If the only thing showing is someone's head, and you register 3-4 hits, they still don't die, and take light damage. If someone's head is showing only and you hit you should get a head shot with one or two shots, period. Line of sight is screwed up too. The Rorsch weapon is the dumbest thing ever added to the BF game in history. It's a one shot kill on pretty much anything, including jets and choppers, except tanks. A rail gun should be powerful but not an auto aim rail gun is just dumb. Just aim in the vicinity of a player and pull the trigger... boom, insta-gib.

Anyhow back on to Hardline. I enjoyed the Hardline beta (the last one not first one). It was actually polished and a good change of pace. But it was still BF4 in sheep's clothing. Really not worthy as a $60 full game, just should have been a standalone expansion to BF4 for $20-30.

i didnt like payday 1 much but ive heard 2 was much better.

i only tried the original first beta so it was very buggy back then.

oh well i wont bother for a while then and i certainly wont be buying direct from origin or steam again as i saved £15 on far cry 4 from gmg so will defo be buying keys from external sites from now on.

moviemarketing, BF3 is pretty much pointless unless it's Premium - they have premium-prioritized queue, best servers feature different maps and game modes from all add-ons in rotation, etc. Servers are well populated. I'm talking about hardcore, just in case - no idea what's happening on softcore.

Not much better IMHO. I played a few rounds and still same ol' feeling. Performance is improved a bit, but otherwise, unless they do/can fix netcode, it's still just a roll of the dice.

As in, I only go below 125fps 2% of the time, and it has to be large-man Hanain Resort Conquest Large. It's a massive improvement over before. The netcode and stuff mostly feels the same.

Basically, between the patch two days ago and launch, DICE somehow learned to "optimize".

I still get the sound (or no sound) glitch at the start and net code is awful still. Nailed a jet with two missiles and a dozen bullets (all registered hits on my end) and the jet didn't even start smoking or get a disabled message, it just kept on flying. And tank hits and RPGs are still wonky. Guns are all over the place. I was getting shot across the map with pistols in a recent romp I had. Not sure if hack or just some glitch. But a half dozen times shot with a .45 from well over 100 yards away. One shot kills too.

Probably a hack. Honestly, MANY more people than you think hack. They're just good at hiding it. When you get killed and the laws of physics don't make sense for you to die, the end-user is likely hacking. For example: having laser/light off and coming around a corner without sprinting to shoot at an enemy you know is there (spotted on map) and you pop out, start firing, then get killed by low rate of fight gun like an AK5C. That dude had always-on radar or wallhacks or even a no-spread hack with an aimbot that only activates when he ADSes. Due to ping difference, if he's standing there and you come around the corner, you can start dealing damage before you show up on his screen. The server's rollback feature tallies it all up. Even if he feels like he died instantly as a result, he shouldn't be able to kill you as long as you're aiming correctly. But when they outshoot you there? Nope. Especially if they do it all the time.

Anyway, as for the wonky netcode... just a thought, but have you forced "high frequency updates" to "on" and turned network smoothing factor down to 0? It makes a difference.

I've fussed with that stuff a lot, and it's really hard to tell if it makes a difference. One time I will do much better. Other times I will do a lot worse, even though I'm playing the same. In the end I think you need the right settings depending on the server, server load, other player pings, etc, so it's just a crapshoot.

I've also had it many times where I'm capping a point, and well hidden, knowing there's no way someone can see me but they come running up out of nowhere and shoot directly at me and kill me, or run by me, I shoot them at their side and back before they turn around and shoot me and kill me. It's just something I've come to accept. I can accept being outplayed, but when you darn well you had the upper hand the whole time and do little to no damage, it's really a PITA. I don't doubt there's cheaters. And it bugs me that people even do that. Why? It just ruins it for everyone else.

Some people want a legit edge. Some people likes the rush of being a pseudo god. Some people like to make others really pissed off. What can I say? My friend linked me to a pretty in-depth reddit post from some guy who cheated all the way up until rank 140 on a second account then began playing on his primary account again.
Here it is, if you're interested in having a read: http://www.reddit.com/r/Pure/comments/2x498p/confessions_from_a_former_cheater/

And believe me when I tell you that it happens in a ridiculous amount of other games out there. Especially those without actual CoD-style killcams, because those killcams let you see if a person is really being iffy or not.

Yeah, that's what I don't like about BF4. Kill cams are needed and would answer a lot of cheating questions. But I think BF4 doesn't include it because of the bad net code would elicit some irate players. Instead they just highlight the killer after the fact. Dumb.

EA took my money for BF4 and took a crap on it. EA/DICE won't dupe me again, I won't be a victim to EA/DICE's empty promises, deceptions and broken netcode. And lastly EA/DICE can shove their battlelog up their nether.

I enjoyed COD BO2 more than any BC2/BF3/BF4. Sledgehammer can die in a fire though. Will wait to see what Treyarch comes up with next.

    Yes, they can.
I may do another review in the same way I did one for AW.

No, Zymphad is correct. The game has serious issues with its hitreg. BF:BC2 has far better hitreg and damage models, even with terrible 10-tick servers. I'll make the same comparison I make for CS:GO. If game A can do as well or better with netcode/hitreg than game B on far worse servers, then something is fundamentally wrong with game B. BF4 needed 30-tick servers with "high frequency updates" and a network smoothing factor turned to "0" to ALMOST be as good as BF:BC2's hitreg/netcode. Far less a game like CoD: Ghosts... 20-tick servers with no network smoothing and knifing people isn't choppy (you grab them in Ghosts) like it is for BF3 and 4 when you turn the smoothing factor to 0. Hell, BF3 was so bad, knifing people was literally a slideshow 70% of the time. BF4 is still approximately 10fps half the time I knife someone.

I'm not saying the game is not fun. I'm not saying people can't enjoy it. Quite the contrary, in fact. Same thing with CS:GO. But it doesn't excuse the parts where the game is broken, and believe me, there's a lot broken. And it's almost been a year and a half since it launched, and they're STILL trying to fix it. And while I was happy to see Hardline mostly clean up the early bugs with its release candidate preview we had a while ago, it was still a CPU killer more than BF4 was, and I'm expecting BF5 to be similarly bad. I can only hope that DICE gave Visceral the optimizations they implemented in the last patch for BF4.

And I swear if I so much as see a mobile AA that takes out aircraft at 700 meters with little issue AND has active radar missiles that exceed the lockon range of laser guided missiles (400 meters) in the next battlefield game, I'm going to somehow hack the database so that no matter what server or platform DICE employees join, they get into a server on team RU and their only spawn points are helicopters and jets and the enemy team is full of engineers and support guys and mobile AAs with Active Radar Missiles and they just keep getting bombarded and shot and their "exit vehicle" buttons are blocked, so they have no choice but to get murdered by a barrage of missiles in choppers and jets for the rest of BF5's longevity until they remove that stupid crap.

/end rant of annoyed chopper pilot

I have low ping under 20ms, usually 12-15ms, and low jitter. The game is just broke. BTW D2 Ultima, lockon is up to 500m. But I swear I get locked on from 700-800m a lot of times as well.

No, the Laser Guided missiles from the Scout Helicopter and gunner of Attack Helicopters are limited to 400M. Stinger lockons are 500M however, as are anti-air missiles from tanks. But Active Radar Missiles? 700M+ and they shoot. AND they don't make a "locking on" sound. You only hear the missiles when they almost hit you, which leaves both Flares *AND* ECM entirely useless against it. And they have more than two missiles they can fire in quick succession.

All this while they can use their gun to just tear anything in the sky to shreds.

They've resorted to gimmicks to draw in a crowd. New low I think.

Ultimate Edition is $120 that contains all expansions. I think BF4 at launch was $90 with all expansions... talk about inflation!

Lol that would be a very funny thing to see while playing the game. Four guys driving by on a couch.

Lol to be fair, I don't think this is a selling feature, probably just an easter egg. It's definitely not worth that money though.
