Its the c90s overclocked to 2.93ghz gpu at 530/1180/530 sorry for not posted all that each time like i should have. i posed that in the earlier ones

-
yo, bigspin, what did u modify in the inf file? or u jsut used the previous version one?
swoley, the driver u posted, does it already contain a modified inf? -
-
yeah, basically from what i can deduct is that the inf file just tells the setup if the hardware is supported or not and that if it can proceed with the install
-
-
the new drivers came out on laptopvide2go.com today, get them from there
-
Anyone tried RivaTuner2.04 to overclock?

im running the 163.44 Laptopvideo2go drivers and im not experiencing the best quality in new games...World in Conflict is only perfectly smooth at 1024x768 with medium settings and AA and AF turned off. I was expecting SLIGHTLY better results from my hardware and drivers im not gonna lie.
has there been any substantial driver updates since the one im running was released? like would it even be worth downloading a new driver and INF etc... -
****PLEASE READ THIS****
Ok, I understand there is some confusion about why Ive been making these hybrid drivers. Also, there is confusion about what drivers allow overclocking etc. The purpose of the driver is to all but get rid of video tearing, give the best game performance, and allow correct HDMI output without overscan (using included directions). Therefore please read the following guide for more info:
READ THIS VERY CAREFULLY:
VISTA:
Overclocking: Yes, with drivers up to 160.04EXCLUDING earlier version drivers made after 5-20-07 (ex: 101.45 made on 06-25-07). Otherwise you must flash gpu**
HDMI without overscan: Yes, with all drivers after 160.02**
Video tearing on secondary display: Yes, with all drivers and all media players (nvidia kiss my *** and fix this bull!).
Conclusion: Best combination is to use the newest163.69, flash the gpu, and be satisfied with video tearing when using HDMI with secondary display (TV).
XP:
Overclocking: Yes, with drivers up to 158.22 (must use DNA forceware 158.22). Otherwise, must flash the gpu**
HDMI without overscan: Yes, only with 101.07, my Hybrid drivers using instructions, DNA forceware 158.22. Otherwise, no.
Video tearing on secondary display: Yes, with Windows Media player with ANY driver (including Hybrid). Yes, with ANY media player (excluding Hybrid which does not have tearing in windows media player classic or windows media center player)
Conclusion: Best combination is to use Hybrid drivers, flash the gpu, and use windows media player classic.
**As you should have noticed, driver versions often do not match up with the date they were made. Use the information I give as a guideline. Ex: if I say all drivers up to 160.04 allow overclocking but you see 101.45 is made way after 160.04 (5-20-07 vs 6-25-07) then the 101.45 driver is NEWER and wont allow overclocking as it was made around the time of 162.15 (6-24-07) and is over 160.04. Make sense? I hope so. -

i don't think world in conflict is an indicator of how not-up-to-par 8600 is .... i'd wait for the next games to come out...also, 8600 is still on the stiff path of driver updates, etc...wic will most likely perform better with the new drivers/patches that will surely come out later...
-
Swoley2k,
What driver would you recomend for someone, such as myself, who doesn't have much expertise in these matters (I've never flashed a bios), but would still like to be able to overclock his gpu? -
-
i'd have to agree with swoley; just use the new drivers as they provide good overall performance. don't bother o/cing unless u got a real necessity.
-
Can someone tell me which driver on laptopvideo2go is the best one for playing games on my 8600M GT? I don't really understand which driver I should choose when I go to the site.
-
IMO 163.44 or 156.57. I just played 3 hours with 156,57 ( mobile driver) without any issue.
-
Best driver for BF2 anyone?
-
whats the best driver for hdmi output for vista
the windows screen size is bigger than the tv itself -
-
the 163.69 drivers are great, they gave me 5-10 more fps on bioshock and quakewars
-
Please everyone read my edit to the Hybrid 163.69 driver post concerning HDMI overscan.

-
I love the .69 drivers
Silky smooth -

So, should I use 163.44 or 163.69 for gaming?
-
-
Does the 163.69 have powermiser features?
-
Am i going blind or something, or can i not see 163.69 on LV2G? Latest i can see is .44
I'm looking at V32, but it's the same for XP32 as well..? -

-
I have excessive screen tearing when playing streaming videos (on my laptop, not external display)....Suggestions?
Update: Okay, so I tried out that 163.69 driver and all that did was make my videos really pixelated. Damn -

-
edit:
163.69 ones are the best ones out right now right? or any better ones? -

how can i find out what drivers i have for my 8600 gt?
-
-
How about the latest "Mobile" drivers 156.64, they're pretty new.
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15099
Is there any advantage or using them over a modded desktop driver, like 169.69/71? -
If you want to overclock with new drivers, just replace these for files with ones from older drivers:
nv4_displ.dll
nv4_mini.sys
nvapi.dll
Nvcpl.dlll
This only refers to WinXP drivers and was found out by HardFreak from the computerbase.de forum.
I didn't find out if and how it works with Win Vista drivers but I'll try. Perhaps someone could help.
If there's someone who could modify the newer drivers without having to use older files please help. The difference is in one or more of these four files. -
-
i rolled mine back from the "bioshock" 16x.xx drivers because although they worked fine, i was left with the black boxes on either the sides or tops (like widscreen or something) even if my resolution was native
so i rolled back to 156.10, only thing is my window's experience index score for desktop aero performance dropped from 4.6 to 4.4., which doesn't really matter but who doesn't like a higher score haha
im looking for new drivers, i don't care about overclocking for now, so i just want one thats most stable and yields best performance. i've been going around this thread but the results are all mixed.
