    Another bonus on the AWs is the 7970 is cheaper than 675m. When Xotic first started offering AW laptops, the 7970 was the stock configuration. Now they start with the 660m, but it's only like 200 bucks to upgrade to the 7970 from the 660. I was seriously considering getting an AW because of the performance, but I couldn't deal with the spaceship styling or the 1600x900 mega glossy screen. It costs almost 200 dollars to upgrade to a full hd screen.

    Not quite, if the GK106 in the 675MX is the one from the 660Ti/660, it will be downclocked+downvolted. If you OV+OC on the mobile PCB, you can get it to match the clocks of the desktop counterpart and have the same lifespan as it.

    Not positive, but I think the 670mx is the gk106 but the 675mx is the gk104, same as the 680m. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong please, I'm too lazy to google right now lol

    lol nvidia, always making things easy for the lowest common denominator. The 780m will be nvidias first card to break into the superawesomezmegaamazingunicornz&butterfliesmagichappy category.

    this proves that you're only average in life.

    lol jk don't let the totally unscientific marketing tool bother you, 630 runs fine :thumbsup:

    In that bar graph an Oced 680M = 680M + 660M.

    If this is priced right, I might want to snag one for my M17x R2.

    I would much rather prefer to maintain lower power draw than anything else. The 7970M has to be sold too... :( Money running short. Thankfully I kept the 6970M.

    That's riiight around where a GTX 560 Ti is placed in terms of scores. Looks good to me. :D

    EDIT:

    If my ideas are correct, the 675MX should be a 75w GPU. So that would place it right where it should be with my machine. :D Sounds like a deal if I can potentially snag one in the future. ^_^

    I'd definitely choose one of these over the 7970M, if I was buying today. I'm done with AMD from here on out I guess.

    I'm with Kevin.. Was excited when the 7970M was announced, it seemed promising. It still is I suppose, but AMD has some driver work to do. These new MX cards sound quite promising. Hopefully they're hinting towards a decent amount more power in a smaller package for '13

    I hate to be a stick in the mud, but I'm looking at the Sager deals right now and the gtx675m is now a free upgrade in the 9150... pretty tempting, and I'm torn between jumping now for the good price or waiting and paying more for the cooler running gpu, which is attractive to me as I switch from desktop to laptop. The gtx670mx is a $150 update over the gtx675m, a lot of money for a card that's slightly slower. How much cooler will it run anyway? Will it keep the fan speeds down, and is it that big a deal with Optimus? $150 is a lot for NO tangible improvement. But I hope to keep the laptop for home use long after games become slow and the smaller power draw and temps should help... butis optimus good enough to overcome the hot 675m? seriously, that's a real question :p

    i have the 675m, with stock clock, playing games like bf3 or shogun 2 only brings me up to mid 70s or low 80s depending on ambient temperature, so i feel 675m is better deal over 670mx as 675m runs a bit faster as well. when overclocking (depending on how much), a close to 20% overclock on the 675m would bring me to high 80s or low 90s, which is still acceptable.

    Yeah but the fan RPM goes up the higher as the temps rise. imo the main benefit of running cooler isn't just running cooler, it's that your notebook is less loud.

    GT60 670M Vantage temperatures:

    GT60 675MX Vantage temperatures:
    [IMG]

    So lets say 675M is 4 degree celsius hotter than 670M and that 670MX is 4 degree cooler than 675MX. I think thats very plausible.

    That will put these temperatures with Vantage.
    675M = 80 degree celsius
    670MX = 62 degree celsius

    Not only will it be around 20 degree celsius cooler, but 675MX which beats the 675M pretty badly, runs about 14 degrees cooler or something.

    Another thing that is great with Kepler is its pretty sick overclocking potential. Don`t know if you noticed the first post, but they overclocked the 675MX +135MHz for the core and that resulted in a tiny +3C temperature increase :)

    i feel 675mx is worth it, but not 670mx. 675m can almost overclock to 675mx stock, give a bit of overvoltage

    On my clevo p151em the fan ramps up at around 75 and then up again at like 85-ish. Dunno about p150ems or notebooks with Sager bios though.

    I'm just hoping the next gen Clevos come with the 670mx or a rebranded version of it so it's cheap to buy aftermarket. RJTech sells 670ms for only $200 :D.

    I think it was from 0.8x to 0.9x

    I typed x because I'm not so sure about the value, but I did remember it was a +0.10v overvoltage

    It was 0.87 to 0.92, but I feel that 0.87v is already hot enough with the GTX 675M, was already seeing 84C at stock clock when playing Alan Wake. Gotta make sure you have cooler running with the 0.92v plus OC.

    The reason overvolting the 580m killed cards was because it was already over the TDP. A stock 580m could easily hit 120 watts, overvolted it could hit 150 watts. This is in an MXM slot rated to 100 watts.

    You can be sure they will, the 580m/675m has had lots of failures and problems. They will move to these new cards as soon as they are available in sufficient quantities. The 680m is still having pretty big supply problems though, so Dell will probably wait until supply is stable.

    WOW, thats an extremely good price if you ask me. GTX 680M cost around $800 now. You can basicly SLI 2x675MX for the same price. :p
    Maybe yields are pretty good for them now so that they can offer lower price?
    Incoming price reduction for the 680M?

    I have a question regarding the performance of the GTX 675mx. I know notebookcheck isn't the most reliable source, and when I go to the page for the GTX 675mx, they say it should perform similar to a GTX 560M SLI, which is apparently as strong as a single GTX 580M. I don't believe this is true, may someone confirm if they can?

    560M SLI is stronger than a single 580M. I believe sli 460M is = 580M.

    Yes the 675mx is stronger than a 580/675. The 680 did destroy the 580 in every respect.
